    This scale rules. Honestly fits the Heresy better than 32mm.

      This scale is the proper scale to accomplish what Horus Heresy and 40K are trying to capture.
      32mm is a great scale for skirmish games (

      Agree, sort of. I think a slightly larger scale would have been incredible (15-20mm). I have some minis in that scale range, and it's just big enough for amazing detail, but small enough for massive armies.@@henryrodriguez6260

    LIttle tiny space trucks and truck trucks. I'm hyped to see this in the future. Legions Imperialis is probably one of those games I'm going to enjoy vicariously.

    I enjoy the assembly process and removing all the flash and mold lines. That being said, if I ever get into this game, I'd be the one just deploying aircraft to include making bombing runs that I can't do in 40k. I'll be the reason why players start taking Hydras and other anti-air units.

    Shout out to Tamiya Cement. After having multiple tubes of plastic glue dry out on me before I even got half-way through them it is the only way to go!

    Thanks for this video! I am stoked for these...! After watching your series of videos on this game, and seeing these models, I am hooked and can see myself spending years happily building and painting these little gems! I have always been more of a modeller than a gamer anyway.
    As for the multitude of tiny parts, they look much less involved than 1/700 scale ship models or 1/72 or 1/76 scale armour!
    Keep up the great work!

    Love the bit about smoke stacks. I feel your pain after sticking 32 of them onto 8 kratoses (kratae?) So happy that the landraiders have a single engine block.
    I feel the video is missing a little mag action. All my sponsons are magnetized with 2mm magnets... that puts smokestacks into perspective

    I actually love building these small scale models. Other people look at it and often say it sounds "painful / harder", but that's not the case with plastic models. It's like any other GW plastic kit in the end, just smaller (it also means it takes a lot less room on your building table than the 32mm equivalent). Resin models at this scale, I find it much more bothersome (mostly because I keep glueing my fingers with superglue).

    I'm getting confused by the word detachment.
    Does it refer to:
    a) the big outline box that we see in the rulebook, that groups a number of smaller boxes together
    b) the smaller boxes that represent a subset of that force but could end up being a number of models or bases on the table.
    Could someone help me out with the hierarchy please?

    • @GuerrillaMiniatureGames
      @GuerrillaMiniatureGames  9 месяцев назад +4

      A Formation is a group of Detachments. Each Formation has compulsory Detachments within it.

    • @Mr_Waffle.
      @Mr_Waffle. 9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah it’s a bit confusing. A miniature is a little plastic dude or tank etc. A model or base is one plastic base or equivalent (so five little dude miniatures standing on a piece of plastic is one model/base). A detachment is like a unit in 40k, one or more bases that group up together. A formation is a group of detachments, akin to old 40k detachments.

  • @blkjet117

    Wouldn't this be the best time to paint the infantry on the sprue as they are only attached by a single point that can be easily tidied up after you are ready to base? It seems like it would be hard to paint the infantry after it is based. I remember basing my marines before painting in an earlier space marines box set. I still have nightmares from that.

    It looks like youve glued the infantry to the bases or is it just temporary? I was thinking for painting, isnt it difficult to reach everywhere if they are on base already?

  • @hexaspano263
    @hexaspano263 9 месяцев назад

    awesome to see you put these together...I have a question regarding the astartes sprue's...there are images of poor and mold slips where there is significant errors on the marines...have you noticed any issues with the infantry models?

    • @GuerrillaMiniatureGames
      @GuerrillaMiniatureGames  9 месяцев назад +1

      They aren’t errors, they’re casting requirements so these minuscule models aren’t ripped to pieces when the molds open and close. Those slopes on the back half prevent undercuts that would make the models impossible to cast in plastic. The process for putting them in is automated these days and they’re probably as minimal as mathematically possible to be honest.

    So I watched your videos after reading the rules on warhammer community a few months ago (which left me with a bad impression). After watching your videos, my opinion has changed. It's actually a lot simpler than I gave it credit for, as I originally ruled it out due to some of the ruling text, which was just awful to read.
    Too late to the party, though - can't get it anywhere.

    • @sentaijustice9207
      @sentaijustice9207 9 месяцев назад +1

      You never cleaned Vanguard models, didn't you. Metal mold lines are the worst to remove, especially when you have to do it on 100+ infantry models.

    • @sirbobulous
      @sirbobulous 9 месяцев назад

      @@sentaijustice9207 Yes I did, had only minor mould lines on mine. Have an entire White Scars army from their stuff. Apart from some spurs on the bottom of their bases from the metal gates they were very clean.

  • @geteavnroc2250
    @geteavnroc2250 9 месяцев назад

    I'mma stick to 32mm. The way GW is handling the newer 'Epic' just 'too much' in all aspects. Too much money for the tiny things that only a niche market(x5) will even play. That build is a nightmare - you hit the nail on the head with "I remember when these were all one-piece models". And ofc, price.

    • @sentaijustice9207
      @sentaijustice9207 9 месяцев назад +1

      Enjoy what you like. Different scales aren't meant for everyone, it's always a matter of personnal view and how you enjoy it. It has nothing to do with price if you already stick to 32mm, whose are often higher. You just think you get more material for the money you put into it, that's all.
