Dear Rosie, I’m fairly sure that in your beautiful, secluded location, you may not be attuned to the upheaval in the U.S., where I live. I’m a retired widow. I live alone. And today, finding your peace -filled channel, and enjoying your life and accomplishments from here, has brought me much calm. I needed this. And I admire you so much for all of your tremendous efforts and your perseverance. Thank you for the peace. I needed it, badly. 😊❤
First comment. Watching since you found the house. Love watching you use the Japanese saw and flipping according to grain. Small teeth against the grain, big teeth with the grain. From a 70 yr lady retired to Arizona. Always building and gardening. Thank you for the Sunday morning treats .
Rosie I think you must use some kind of sorcery when you’re painting how else to explain no paint on clothes, face, in hair or dripping onto surfaces that you don’t want it. Amazing!
Rosie, Your perseverance, to endure is truly remarkable. Your detailed excellence in ALL You do leaves us all in AWE. I pray strength, for You to endure, until completion, of renovating Your little Home. Sending love Your way.❤
I wonder how I would feel if my days were like yours...silent, serene, connected with nature, self-nurtured with lovingly prepared food, filled with productive self-sufficiency. I feel so happy just faffing about in my flower garden, and perhaps finding some berries in my yard to bake with, that I can just about imagine upping that feeling to the nth degree.
I swear your editing, music, shots and all of it are getting better and better. So many videos are so self-indulgent and self-conscious. You are just you and that is what I love about your videos. And your honesty. Made me chuckle when you said five days later you were putting on the second coat.
your wooden chair would look great painted with the swedish paints.. Use a little less linseed.. you only need that for raw timber. the turpentine drives the linseed into the wood so if there is an impervious finish then that is not going to happen as you have found out? Try again with the recipe for the final coat and you will find it works. Thanks for the vlog, a joy x
Thanks for the input! I did follow the recipe for planed timber that's previously been painted, but I'll use less linseed oil for the door and hopefully that'll do better. The two final coats are completely undiluted so maybe a bit of linseed oil and turpentine for the first layer will be okay.... eeek!
Rosie, thank you for sharing your seemingly private space. You are packing a lot of content in. Your house looks very unique now with plenty of storage. Well done! Hopefully you are gaining some YT monetization for all your efforts of sharing your crafted videos.❤
Nothing to perk you up then starting on painting the outside bits. Really freshens up the look. I am loving the cabinetry!! Looks so amazing. And watching you cut and fit all the puzzle pieces together just makes my jaw drop.
Thank you Rosie, for sharing with us your independence and perseverance! You are an inspiration for many single women (including me😊). Your videos making my days better!
It’s going to be beautiful, everything inside and outside. As you do all on your own it takes so much more time. I get that you are impatient but we love every progress you make, big or small. Have a great week.
Be sure to handke all rags and brushes with linseed oil very carefully. It is highly susceptible to spontaneous combustion. Rags and brushes must never be disposed of unkess completely dry or immersed in a closed receptacle of water. Your cottage is glorious!
I'm always so amazed to see you working at painting and staining without plastic gloves on and, like today, dressed so well, and I think at least times without drop cloths. I couldn't stain a door frame in a skirt!
The staples thing … oh man! Exactly the same here in Portugal. And having gone to all the trouble of ordering up a bulk quantity of staples from the UK (pre-Brexit days) that DID fit, my staple gun promptly broke. So I ended up having to buy a new one anyway … which then left me with a large number of useless staples. “Good enough” is a much more comfortable realm to inhabit. And finishing?! I still haven’t finished my house … 15 years on 😂 You’ve achieved so much already Rosie, and it’s such a joy to watch the care and precision you bring to all you do. Your styling fits the house to perfection - it’s just so NOT a 1970s sauna!
I was told once that when you have a house it's never finished, you will always find something to improve. For a long time I mastered the skill of ignoring things that needed to be done, but not any more. Rosie is an inspiration. 😊
@@evinnra2779 after 15 years of building (converting stone barns into houses) I’ve discovered that by the time you get to the finishing straight, problems are starting to reveal themselves with things done at the start. Bad quality materials degrade (more and more common now); water finds ways in; things rot; little animals come to stay …which all then need fixed. I think that’s why they say a house is never finished 😂
I ended up buying a whole new staple gun because they stopped selling the right staples in my country. It was a frustrating purchase because the old staple gun is super nice (it’s a lovely, high-end vintage staple gun that my father-in-law used when building his house), and the new one was really expensive.
2 big projects in one video, what a treat. I was excited to see the video was half an hour, I can’t get enough of everything Rosie. The bird vocalizations are also a treat, hurray for spring. Thank you for keeping it real and making us dream. 🥰🙏🏻
Another good way to fill up the gaps around the plug in the door would've been mixing saw or sanding dust with wood glue and pushing that in - maybe useful for next time :)
I am gobsmacked at your talent. That wall of storage is incredible Rosie. Bravo. Finishing up your living space sounds like the perfect 24-25 WINTER project. Onward to the outside list!

Thanks to your ability to persist on difficult projects you have inspired me. I started a hand sewn quilt several years ago, now as I watch you work I am sewing this quilt. It is a pattern from the late 1800. Thanks for keeping me company as we work on our projects together.
I'm not a professional and I've never renovated anything with linseed oil paint, I was only painting with art oil paints. But I think your primer might be ok, the paint may run off through excess linseed oil or turpentine - you can try to add less of these, try different proportions. The paint with too much oil will "slide" over the surface and the paint with too much turpentine will run down/drip. The oil paint doesn't actually dry, it polymerizes. Exposure to direct sunlight slightly accelerates the process. The addition of turpentine thins the paint (like oil) and speeds up the process significantly. It usually takes about 2-3 days for a layer of linseed oil paint to by non-sticky and about a week to be fully "dried". Once it's "dry" it should stick to the surface very well. But actual oil polymerisation takes years. It's a long process but the layer of paint should be durable Thank you so much for inspiring me to do more creative stuff and experiment 🤍

Linseed oil hardens with UV exposure, and is slow to cure. If your door is in shadow and the weather is still cold, the linseed oil paint can take days - if not weeks - to fully set, and it will be tacky to the touch for a long time. The window, as you said, is in full sun, and there the paint will set much faster. Best regards from a museum conservator who also lives in a 200 yo farmhouse in southern Scandiavia.

Oh that was the shop of dreams!! It's so wonderful to see you using traditional materials. Everything is looking beautiful, indoors and out and your hand crafted clothes too. You are so deeply inspiring xx
I feel that your productivity lessons, you talked about doing, are paying off. It shows. Thank you for sharing all of it, Rosie. Your videos really are great, especially for Sundays
I feel so happy how Rosie decides to upload another masterpiece of a video, instead of waiting for a finished project 🥰 And I am inlove with the colours she picks for the house. It's all so cozy 🌼
Rosie, it might not be finished but it's amazing! I'm following you since you first bought the property, and look how far you've come! It's a credit to you.

Congratulations, your home becomes prettier every day; It's a pleasure to see how passionately you are taking care of her, putting yourself to the test every day. If I can give you some advice, when using mortar, always remember to wet the surfaces before applying it. In this particular case, to make repairs, it would be better to first apply a specific primer. Good work!
She even cuts her fruit like a true carpenter.❤ Those corner braces must be so useful. Please be flattered, cuz im learning so much from you. Rosie - "Everything I do is an experiment". Isn't life perfect?!!! 😊
Rose, the six doors complement the room and look so nice with the window. It’s fun to see this room take shape. I appreciate how you face adversity in the everyday challenges that arise. Thank you for creating these wonderful videos.
Rosie, you are a strong, talented, independent woman and I LOVE that you are actually living your OWN dreams, goals and NOT letting society or anyone putting you "in a small little societial round peg hole"... while you are a STAR SHAPE!
Also in awe... and learning. I've done a fair amount of DIY, including restoring the sweet little apartment we have upstairs. I've been proud that it's been loved and well-lived in by a lovely person. Having said that, I cannot hold a candle to your precision, detail and unique vision as a creator of space. As I said, I stand in awe. 💞
Rosie because your door frame and door are sealed the linseed oil will not be able to sink in, be absorbed by the timber. Try making up the paint with the final coat amount of linseed and it should stick and dry nicely. Love your colour choice.😊
and somehow, that big, full wall gardrobe still makes the room look more spacious! Somehow never seen befor textile doors on cabinets but it really is so airy and nice
since watching one of your videos where you talked about how long editing takes and the way you use your drone for aerial shots i've noticed so much more about the different camera angles and shots you put into your videos and it really seems like a lot of work. That said I think your filming is quite beautiful and i think i took it all in efore without thinking about the work behind it. so thank you for putting in all the effort because i really enjoy your videos.😊
So enjoy your videos and building adventures! You are creating a most wonderful, enchanting home. ...a pleasure to see it coming together. And those waffles you make for yourself are also amazing works, and delicious I'm sure.

Its more than a little daunting to realize, these are not “kits”you’ve bought. You are making your kits.. Then to see you in skirts and dresses “pretty cute” I might add. Most guys wear big work boots, thick work pants, lots of safety features (nothing wrong with that at all).. Its really a joy to see you when you post.. Love the food prep parts❤
Tytyty, I look forward to new videos and appreciate all the new things I've learned through your own life's adaptability to trial and error. Humor is so heartwarming to myself. Thank you again. Have a lovely new season. I'll return when you upload a new video. I share your channel often. 😊🫖💛🧇🍉🍌🍓 yummy relaxing home, you're building. I love all the different talents & hobbies you have. 💛😊
Love watching you build your home and how creative you are. Accomplish outdoor projects while the weather is nice. Inside work can be done when the snow is blowing. Bless you❤
a little tip, when you paint over existing paint on a wooden surface (be it window frame, or doorframe or the door itself) it helps to do a light sanding on the surfaces before you apply the first coat, it will give the paint more grip and prevent it from peeling in the sun in the future. (it also keeps the surface nice and tidy looking when you finish)
The best Sunday mornings are cup of coffee and Rosie.
Same here 😌🐝☕️

I thank you for that you are definitely an inspiration to us all God Bless you I hope you don't stop building or sewing anytime soon !!!❤❤❤
So unbelievably beautiful ✨ Always in awe of your vision for this house, and seeing it come together bit by bit is so satisfying!
Rosie you inspired me so much and helped me realize what I really want to do with my life. So I decided to move out to Patagonia and live in the woods in the Andes. I want a little cabin like yours but I don't know if I'm skilled enough to make my own like you do. Anyways I thank you very much for sharing your life trip with us and I wanted to let you know that your brave inspired me to change my life completely!!! Big hugs from Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Good luck with your plans. I hope that you learn lots & enjoy the journey.🤞🍀👍🏻🇨🇦
Its like you are so strong ,but so delicate . Your work is art
So sad when the video is over. Your videos leave me feeling so serene.
My favourite gal 😊
Can't wait to see what you've been up to ❤
I get so excited to see each new thing you have chosen to do. Hearing your process and seeing your methods has been very helpful and inspiring with a calming effect. So many DIYers give me anxiety.
Oh that was the shop of dreams!! It's so wonderful to see you using traditional materials. Everything is looking beautiful, indoors and out and your hand crafted clothes too. You are so deeply inspiring xx
you tube is your friend for construction questions or any diy project research
Every improvement you make is creating a homey feeling. Old houses are never square.
I feel that your productivity lessons, you talked about doing, are paying off. It shows. Thank you for sharing all of it, Rosie. Your videos really are great, especially for Sundays
It looks amazing Rosie. Love the paint colours. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yeah I do as well. I might just copy
Your environment is bringing healing to yr emotions, yr mind and yr body... lovely sunshine beautiful snow and fresh air and healthy food, so good
Bless u.
I agree wholeheartedly! Sleeping in,the first cup of tea and Rosie an amazing woman. Pure heaven 🌷
Good work!
I remembered that wetting part a few days after I did it, oops! What's the primer you mention though - is it a concrete product or like a liquid?
Concrete bonding agent
@@tikilee7172 Thanks!
It is not stupid if it works. Great job on the cabinets.
She even cuts her fruit like a true carpenter.❤ Those corner braces must be so useful. Please be flattered, cuz im learning so much from you.
Rosie - "Everything I do is an experiment".
Isn't life perfect?!!! 😊
I noticed her fruit cutting technique. Love it
I like that you ‘experiment’. I draw a lot of inspiration from your fearlessness. 🦋
Lovely work Rosie. Thank you for the video, I feel detoxed and relaxed.
P.S. And the traditional Swedish paint and paint colors... made me gasp.
You are amazing love seeing your wonderful creations. ❤
Huge Fan, Rosie you are so inspirational . You’re video blogs take me to such a happy place , every week I’m like , gonna get me my Rosie Fix 🙌🏻🤣
Hi, i like how you, wizard, swtich on the moon with such an ease! 😊
It's my super power ;)
@@wildrosie I mean you got many skills. After all you are talented, very much.
Rosie because your door frame and door are sealed the linseed oil will not be able to sink in, be absorbed by the timber. Try making up the paint with the final coat amount of linseed and it should stick and dry nicely. Love your colour choice.😊
She already said it was because of the primer.
and somehow, that big, full wall gardrobe still makes the room look more spacious!
Being transparent is refreshing....you do good girl!
Rosie your building skills amaze me. And your filming this by yourself is amazing. Thankyou for sharing your journey ❤
So enjoy your videos and building adventures! You are creating a most wonderful, enchanting home. ...a pleasure to see it coming together. And those waffles you make for yourself are also amazing works, and delicious I'm sure.
Beautiful work Rosie.
You look pretty and fresh out there in the garden.💐🌱🌿
Spring and summer are the best.
Hola Rosi te sigo desde Costa Rica , eres una mujer maravilla y el bosque es demasiado bello , tu casa va quedando hermosa , me gusta que seas tan auténtica ❤
That storage unit is looking stunning Rosie
Its more than a little daunting to realize, these are not “kits”you’ve bought. You are making your kits..
Then to see you in skirts and dresses “pretty cute” I might add.
Most guys wear big work boots, thick work pants, lots of safety features (nothing wrong with that at all)..
Its really a joy to see you when you post.. Love the food prep parts❤
Fantastic work. Those cupboards and that room are looking so good.
I look forward to these videos so much. It is so satisfying to see the progress she has made on her home.
What a busy bee you are! So many projects going qt the same tiime and all done with skilll and flair.
Your living room is looking so beautiful. You have achieved so much. I just love watching your stories, it’s like sitting down & having a chat
Good morning, Rosie. Good work on the cupboard doors… I like them a lot!
That was a lovely time "visiting" with you!
Your cabinet doors are beautiful. The entire wall feature is coming along splendidly. Such a joy.
Bless you❤
The cabinet doors look amazing. Keep up the great content.
Everything you make is always so well done. ❤I’ve been thoroughly enjoying watching your stories!
a little tip, when you paint over existing paint on a wooden surface (be it window frame, or doorframe or the door itself) it helps to do a light sanding on the surfaces before you apply the first coat, it will give the paint more grip and prevent it from peeling in the sun in the future. (it also keeps the surface nice and tidy looking when you finish)
Agreed. Rosie did sand the door in a prior video and then used primer. This video is showing her progress toward painting over the primer.
You are doing an amazing job. I love that you are courageous enough to tackle almost anything.
