I loved my EDC x9 4” so much I bought one in 3.5” and did all my instructor qualifications with it. The moment I heard of this I ordered one and can’t wait to get my fingers on it.
For the record, to be clear, these are not 2011’s. A lot of 2011 makers can’t use that term since Staccacto owns the name. But in this case, the X9 guns are completely proprietary. I know YOU know that. But I have to keep saying it since we have a whole bunch of new viewers who are coming in for the first time giving “Wilson’s 2011” a look. Hope you are well. Marky John1911.com
2011 magazines destroy that platform. That is why you see companies keep trying to make versions with Glock, P320, etc. Wilson basically decided to NOT build a 2011 and started from the ground up using the Walther PPQ mag tube. Marky
I would love to see Wilson Combat make a full dust cover variant… The 3.25” Rail on a 5” pistol seems short. I would love to see a full dust cover 4” with the small compensator from the 3.25”. If they invested in developing a 4” Rail assembly for the SFX9 and EDC9, it would also look more proportional for the 4.25”-5” models as well.
Wilson had some quite a bit of variant development with the X-frame guns. They released a 3.5” (I think) on a full sized grip for one. They also did a line with the traditional 1911 top-end on a X-frame lower. Which was interesting. At this point, I think all your wishes are just a matter of time. Every year needs a new SKU in this business. And with the creation of Division 77 inhouse, I would guess limited runs of unique formats are pretty much standard going forward. Regards, Marky John1911.com “Shooting Guns & Having Fun”
You can change the panels. They are the 2.0 format. And for the record, the Division 77 texture is way more aggressive, and better, than the original X9 texture. It’s their TRAK pattern on the panels and frame. Marky John1911.com “Shooting Guns & Having Fun”
Optics cut very similar as LTT does on px4 for which i dont like cause they have no cover plate if you dont want to use a dot , I have this issue with my LTT PX4 , so there it is

Sorry Springfield we could see your answers during the test and we copied. Nighthawk is in the same ballpark and hitting home runs with IOS. But i'll probably have to send it in just to change a trigger or now have sights put on. Why? Wilson considers it their Gun. I laughed out loud when CS told me that on the phone. Its ok to admit your a Wilson Fanboy. 😃 You know it may be time to rebrand to JohnD77P1...It has a ring to it.
A few points: 1. I have gone on the record many times how much I like the X9 guns. 2. I have gone on the record many times on how much I hate 2011’s. 3. The Wilson X9 gun and all its TDP numbers are not like any other “1911”. At the early stages, Wilson didn’t want anyone monkeying around inside the guns, having something not work, then that gun starts floating around as a lemon. Or worse, hurts somebody. Because, suddenly then, it DOES have their name on the side of it with the associated OEM liability insurance and Wilson reputation. 4. I have carried 5” X9L guns (which is what this guns is) in appendix for years now. 5. “Fan Bois” don’t like me because I call them out on their fetishy bullshit. If someone can’t shoot, I don’t care what they have to say about X,Y or Z gun. 1911 & HK guys are usually the worst offenders. Regards, Marky John1911.com “Shooting Guns & Having Fun”
@@JohnathanMoss-v4x 1. We kept it. 2. 2011’s are over-railed, over lugged, monstrosities with a crappy mag design that just kills them in 9mm. It seems even Staccato has admitted as such by introducing a new 9mm magazine that isn’t “2011 compatible”. The fact they would introduce a new mag design that is in no way backwards compatible with every gun they have ever made over the past 25 years is what we call a clue. In your lifetime, Staccato will transition out of that old mag design completely. And when they do, remember this conversation. Regards, Marky John1911.com “Shooting Guns & Having Fun”
@@John1911 yes they will transition away from the old mags for new guns but keep them for the older ones. Due man complaints about grip size, "tiny handed people."
1. I wear XL sized gloves. 2. Those grip frames legitimately don’t fit, or aren’t comfortable, for about 50% of the male population. 3. The benefit of lighter recoil springs is reduced muzzle dip when the slide closes back into battery. The muzzle nosedives with heavy springs.
