I was watching a You tude about the Palace of Versailles and thought how is it that American slaves from 1619 to 1865 slept on straw or dirt floors and even today some families in 2019 can't afford a decent soft mattress but 300 years ago King Louis had a opulent bed. So I wonder when need mattress made of mostly cotton was made?
