    I've been an insurance agent for the last 6 years and i just quit my job a few weeks ago because of how stressful the environment was. My mental health was at its lowest. taking a break and then hopefully getting back out in the insurance industry. watching this video made me realize how valuable and efficient i am.

    I'm currently a real estate agent (started in January), and thinking about trying to join Aflac because real estate has been a little of a slow start for me. Do you typically work from home or do you have to be present in an office all day? Also: since I'm already a realtor, I was thinking of doing insurance to help my clients on multiple levels, do you think that's a smart idea?

    The cheapest insurance possible? You mentioned savings people
    Thousands of dollars but what is the difference between going to a broker and buying cheap insurance online.

    • @ErinNogueira
      @ErinNogueira  3 года назад +5

      My primary focus is educating my clients on their coverages. If a referral chooses a cheaper option with worse coverage than I provided then that is on them and they lose me as their agent. 9/10 times these same referrals come back to me after having a terrible experience with the carrier they decided to go with.
      When you sign up with geico (for example) you are picking your own coverages and essentially insuring yourself. I am licensed and take CE to make sure I am well educated to insure my clients properly.

    • @Harmonicaoscillator
      @Harmonicaoscillator 3 года назад +17

      Hi there,
      I'm not Erin but I am an insurance agent, let me try and answer the question for you:
      Most independent agencies have advertisement systems where you put in your information knowingly inquiring someone from the agency to contact you (this is true of almost all types of insurance, but especially true in home, auto, life, and health).
      They'll contact you and get some information from you (dependent on the type of insurance) so that they know what you're eligible for and how your premium might be rated (meaning how much you'll pay for the policy dependent on how high of a risk you're deemed to be). It is then the insurance agent's job to use the information you've provided to scour through their carriers (meaning the companies that actually provide insurance policies) to see which policy fits your needs and your underwriting information the best. At this point, all that's left is to sell the individual the policy and submit the application to the insurance carriers. You'll hear back from your agent regarding your approval (or denial) and how much you owe, etc.. After this, you're pretty much good! You just have to pay your premium with whatever consistency you and the agent agreed on during your conversation (either in home, or, increasingly often, remote conversations) and you're fine.
      After this happens, you (the agent) usually contact your existing clients however often you deem fit (although I'd say it's probably best to AT LEAST reach out once per year to review the plan and make sure it's still working for the client). Through this, you make sure that the policy works (they don't want to add anything or subtract anything from the policy in terms of riders or ancillaries, fancy terms for 'extra perks' your policy may provide you) and you build credibility with your clients. This establishes you as reliable, credible, etc. and also gives you a chance to cross-sell or get new names from clients who suggest their friends/family to you (since they trust you to be such a great, thorough, and caring agent).
      I hope this helps!

      I don’t sell premium, I sell policy’s. I write with over a dozen carriers and every carrier has a different agency commission.
