Asking how much you make isn’t rude. It’s openly communicating and transparency is key to a healthy conversation. Also it helps lead the industry by example. If agencies underpaying see and hear that others make X. Then they will raise to X. Keeping pay private will just create a more savage workplace. Which can be toxic for those that are given a horrible pay % and commission. If an individual knew what a healthy % was then they could deny someone trying to squeeze the life out of them and pay them in dust bunnies
Asking someone how much money they make is 100% inappropriate. Not everyone has the same education, work history, certificates, network, book of business, etc. Not to mention every state has a different cost of living & minimum wage. What I make annually + commission in Massachusetts with my marketing degree, 8+ years of experience, 3 licenses in 2 states, multimillion dollar book & strong network I’ve built for years will never compare to what someone just starting out in this career can be offered. I’m not setting false or unrealistic expectations for anyone, ever. I’m never worried about what others make because I’m my own competition in sales. If someone can’t handle that then they’re working in the wrong position/industry.
Well now we’re wondering how much you make because of the comment you made about it being rude honestly, I wasn’t even thinking about it until you made that comment so now we’re all thinking about it, also people another channels do say how much they make so there’s that.
Agree, it’s not rude by default. I think this is a either a regional or generational difference because I would never consider it rude. Or asking someone’s age to be rude.

When I first thought of becoming a life insurance agent, I basically had no idea where and how to start until I cam in contact with this company on Facebook. They helped me through the process of pre licensing and scheduling for my exam. I postponed and rescheduled my exam several times because I was skeptical but when I finally did, I passed first try scoring 90. I currently work with them making 45% . I started with 30% and now 45%. They also got an interesting career growth path which can help you become your own CEO. Supper excited I found them. Please do your research and get involved with the right company

@@deem.4527 soo I actually didn’t end up taking it 😹 but if I did I’m sure I would’ve passed easily😄! My advice is to study and learn the vocab cuz they try to trip u up w the wording!

I just left the largest health carrier in the United States working too many long hours been in insurance for about 3 years switching over to independent broker. Big change

For apps I did practice exams and RUclips I searched at random.
I got an interview with Globe Life, and they said they'll only pay for half of the cost of getting licensed.

Hourly depends where you live. I also don’t know sales positions that are hourly & not salary.
Hi. Live in Texas . I work with a company which is 30% for a start and increases as you climb the ladder. They hire agents everywhere across the country. No hourly rates. But I think it makes more sense than 9%. Right now I am at 45%. So do more research and get you companies with the best deals please.

Every state has a department that teaches classes. I would get hired first & have your work set it up for you.

How do I become an independent insurance agent open to all medical, property, Auto and life.
Property & Casualty and Life, Accident, & Health are two separate licenses. It doesn’t make sense to sell both, you either concentrate on one or the other.

I also used Xcel solutions with Patricia’s discount code “kinky styles 1980”. I studied 3 weeks and passed with a lot higher than the 70% necessary. Like Patricia says, take the simulated test until you make a score of 90+ before you take the State exam. My State exam was very similar to the simulated test. Good luck!
