    These interpretations are really good, with a sculpted sound that put at the highest rank the Schumann's poetry.

    This is Gilels at his best! For instance his lyrical tone and beautiful legato in no. 3 middlesection gives me the chills!

    Э.Гилельс всегда восхищает четкостью трактовки в сочетании с ясностью в форме. В то же время все так соизмеримо и на своем месте!

    I love his interpretation of the first movement. I changed my interpretation after I heard this recording. Rarely do that, but he realises a whole different meaning that is exhilarating. Wow!

      It's good that you prepared and studied this and built your own enterprising rendition before being influenced by Gilels. I did this when learning Schumann's opus 22 sonata. I didn't listen to any recordings until after I let the notes of Schumann's music guide me into my own personal expression of it. That's one reason we have so many recordings of a certain piece of music.

      Do you play Schumann often?

    • @jayshulman1558
      @jayshulman1558 5 лет назад +5

      I play Schumann everyday. He is my favourite composer. No one else comes close. I am currently learning Fantasistucke. My goal is to play all of his piano works before I die. I took up the piano two and a half years ago when I retired. I play four to five hours a day, trying to master it. This keeps me active during my retirement and a bit frustrated, but that’s to be expected.

      @@jayshulman1558 hello Jay, Schumann is my favorite as well. At the moment I'm learning his f minor sonata op 14.. I'm curious to know what your favorite piano piece by Schumann is. For me its either the Blümenstuck, Kinderszenen or his C major toccata.

    Cierta vez escuché que definian a Emil Gilels como al "atleta del piano"...Si, es una perfecta combinación de vigor, energía seguridad...y además, una exquisita musicalidad.Impresionante su versión del Nº 1, op. 23 de Tchaikowsky...
