2:45:03 for Son Yeon Jae's superb ribbon performance. There's no separate video of it on youtube so I'm time stamping it here...and then Son Yeon Jae's spectacular club performance is at 1:14:03. She's such a one of a kind performing artist! You're welcome. ☺
Daria Dmitrieva proved to be the most talented, charming, charismatic gymnast of all. Classical beauty !!! What a shame that after winning silver in London 2012 Daria had to withdraw from competitive performances due to the knee injury. What a loss of grace, beauty and style !! Long live Daria !!!!
mitrosz looks overscored, but if you think she does not do a lot of difficulty so that makes her have a better execution score, so she still is going to score well although her routines do not look that awsome, I understand what you say...
Jocelin Weiss I have to disagree with you there, Rodriguez had a few small mistakes in her routine, which would, of course, keep her mark down a little bit. Mitrosz has mastered her basic skills, and does them well, which boost her execution marks, and she boosts her difficulty score by doing multiple elements under a single throw. I personally think the Russians are too overscored.
It's for the gymnasts. It's not really needed since the music+routine is built into the time limit but it's required that each athlete/team receive a warning that their time is almost up.
Ariel Widhibrata indeed but it's titled Smooth Criminal :) ... that version is played by croatian duo 2Cellos, also Deng Sengyue used David Garret's version for her clubs here in London 2012
I think it is slightly stupid that they decrease the difficulty score because they didn't complete the move. You would think the reason they made the mistake was because it was difficult not because they wanted to make it easier, but I'm just a filthy musician what would I know about sport.
Bedroom Bunny I don’t know anything about sports too but I think they do it because they look at the move as incomplete and therefore non-existent, or/and like the routine is easier when moves are incomplete. For example, spins are easier in a fewer amount. 1 spin is easier than 10 spins, and that could be the reason why they lower the score. Please notice that I’m just guessing. I don’t know anything about sports, and definitely not rhythmic gymnastics. I was just guessing. Someone who actually does this sport could give you a more correct answer.
It's for the gymnast themselves... Sometimes due to mistakes or fumbles they maybe lagging behind in terms of completing their planned skills and difficulties... Just like Staniouta in her ribbon routine here... So if they continue after the buzzer at 1.30min they will get a deduction.
how does dmiterieva (RUS) have a higher execution score than Senyue Deng (CHN) when RUS dropped her clubs twice? and they gave her a higher artistry score even though she used less floor space and danced less? oh right, this sport is rigged tighter than a sail-of-the-line ship.
***** I don't believe ***** was referring to the execution score when discussing "use of floor space", he was referring to the artistry score. Also, unless I have misinterpreted your writing, you were actually describing the "Difficulty" score when you tried to explain how the execution score works. Difficulty refers to the elements performed while Execution refers to the technique and how well the elements are performed!
***** As well, even though Dmitrieva's routine was more difficult, it doesn't automatically mean she has a higher execution score, which is what ***** is trying to compare.
***** Is Dmitrieva's second "drop" actually a deliberate element? To me, that should have been deducted for loss of control. The judges would have known whether or not Dmitrieva intended to do that "mistake" because all the rhythmic gymnasts have to submit a document showing what their routine is supposed to look like (including every single element). At the finals, Dmitrieva did NOT make that "mistake", so I do not believe it was deliberate.
Hi, I have a question, am I too old to start practicing rhythmic gymnastic at 15? (I became 15 only two weeks ago) I really want to learn this but I think I'm too old. I'm pretty flexible and athletic, I have danced pretty much all of my life and I'm able to work hard to become good at it, but I think I might be too late. Anyone that can tell me?
Lovexfleurtje I think you should be fine, as long as your willing to work that little extra because of your age, also if it's what you really want to do don't let your age get in the way! :]
I think you should definitely go for it. I'm a retired gymnast, started a little older than most and I had an incredible competing career. With your dance background you'll have the flexibility and coordination, you'll need to work extra hard on the apparatus skills! Best of luck chasing your dreams and not allowing yourself to have any life regrets xx
What's better to do if you want to be an acro dancer (dance but include gymnastic floor work like ariels and others) rhythmic gymnastics or normal gymnastics?
If you want to be more of a dancer, I suggest rhythmic. Ariels and things of that sort are a type of difficulty in rhythmics. In artistic gymnastics, you basically only have creativity in the floor routine. If you want to have a slim and beautiful body, rhythmics is for you. If you want a slim and muscled body, artistic is for you. It depends on what you want.
for the 2nd question > Yana and Rita replaced Zhenya and Dasha D because these 2 both retired after olympc year. So Rita and Yana are the leader in the national team(alongside Dasha Svatkovskaya and Maria Titova in 2013. but later in 2014 Russian National team has Rita M, Yana K, Maria Titova and Sasha Soldatova. rhythmic gymnastics: where art meets sports
Agreed. And Son Yeon Jae is the most artistic athletes of them all.
Caroline weber for the winning personality! 1:17:12 - ribbon and 2:42:00 - clubs
I like her. She's excellent
I've always been impressed by the ribbons when I was a child.
2:45:03 for Son Yeon Jae's superb ribbon performance. There's no separate video of it on youtube so I'm time stamping it here...and then Son Yeon Jae's spectacular club performance is at 1:14:03. She's such a one of a kind performing artist! You're welcome. ☺

Kanayeva's leo for ribbon is sooooo beautiful...

I am so proud of the girl from egypt! not alot of women arab are into RG! so i gotta give it to her! you go GURL!
The only event I only watch in the summer Olympics.

AUSTRALIA! We're so proud of you Janine!
it would be nice if the comentators wouldn't talk so much nor so loudly!
Exactly. They could just talk between performances, not during them. Probably need to justify why they're getting paid

Son yeon jae's beautiful performance without her gymnastic shoes
신발 한짝 벗겨진 손연재의 아름다운 연기
i think the club is my favorite rhythmic gymnastics apparatus to watch :3
1:17:28 Radetzky March? Really? That music has used the same thing in the Mario and Sonic Olympic Games in London
carolina rodriguez was seriously underscored on ribbon. and mistrosz was overscored on everything.
mitrosz looks overscored, but if you think she does not do a lot of difficulty so that makes her have a better execution score, so she still is going to score well although her routines do not look that awsome, I understand what you say...

I love Aliya from Azerbaijan and other Azeri gymnasts because I know Azerbaijan very well
Aliya should have gotten so many more medals in her long career. She is so flexible and graceful 💕
Deng senyue's score is a joke. Definitely deserved the final
That Poland girl's routines are nothing but disaster. Low difficulty, poor execution and she still made into final. What a joke
my favorite is clubs followed by ribbon
1:15:04 Son yeon jae's shoes were taken off
손연재 슈즈 벗겨짐
It's for the gymnasts. It's not really needed since the music+routine is built into the time limit but it's required that each athlete/team receive a warning that their time is almost up.
I started out with 1 short video that I saw on an Epic RUclips comment site, and now I ended up on a 2 hour video and can't stop watching. -_-
Best performances of Son Yeon Jae!
I miss these gymnasts :(
That ribbon is just mesmerizing
EVGENIYA KANAEVA . RG QUEEN NOW RETIRED BUT STILL MY RG QUEEN.

another question: who needs to know when there are 10 seconds left & the routine is over? the gymnast? the public? or the judges?
It's for the gymnast themselves... Sometimes due to mistakes or fumbles they maybe lagging behind in terms of completing their planned skills and difficulties... Just like Staniouta in her ribbon routine here... So if they continue after the buzzer at 1.30min they will get a deduction.

I'm late haha but I started when I was nearly 16 and that was 4 months ago and I'm already competing in competitions and yes, I hope you started.
Did anybody get bad quality near the middle ?

I had the same issue, I decided I would do both because I loved the dance and also the flips and stuff
+Nikki Wendt Actually you learn aerials in normal gymnastics also.
+Nikki Wendt Actually you also have creativity on the beam and the bars, although you have the most on the floor
