I must say that Shannon Miller is a really good commentator, she is not biased at all towards the U.S gymnasts when American commentators normally are.
Vanessa Casey ...agree.. she is so good and fair with all the girls. Gives credit where and when it's due no matter who it is
shannon miller is the best commentator or all time. she’s so nice and really appreciates beautiful gymnastics, no matter what country they’re from :)
With all do respect, my SO speaks fluent Russian, I speak French, they are all biased.

Look at Mustafina's nods when Komova was on beam! She was holding her breath when Komova was preparing to dismount, and she immediately clapped and stood up after Komova finished her routine. As if she was the one on beam!! XD (52:02)
Mustafina always seemed so happy when Komova was happy. It is clear that she cared more about Komova than her own medals. This made me like her even more.
❤️
Mustafina was always a fantastic teammate/team captain even when the US commentators made it seem like she was a drama queen/diva.
I absolutely love Shannon Miller as a commentator!
my all time favorite commentator :)
i hate how she gets this laughy sound in her voice. fake? i'm not sure that's miller, i think it's someone else. the one who lost to izbasa in fx final and righty so.
ruth neff it is miller. and she laughs all the time because she’s nice and happy leave her alone. and shawn johnson lost to izbasa in 2008 and she doesn’t commentate.
Ella Loussia she was talking about Nastia
I love Shannon Miller, she is "clean", positive and respectful, I'm glad they chose her for the official feed. She had some funny moments with the commentator guy. But I still prefer BBC people, they're more energetic.
Komova is absolutely gorgeous to watch her grace and form . The extension in which she carries every single movement is mesmerizing. Gabby is a beautiful gymnast and definitely earned her AA without question. But it came down to Komova’s costly deductions on her vault landing that cost her the gold in my opinion. She’s so extremely hard on herself, after her big mistake on vault she performed her heart out and there’s no way that’s not something to be extremely proud of. What a tremendous competition these London Olympics were
Well stated. I agree 100% on the incredible grace of Komova, but on this night, Gabby won. Beautiful 😻 🤸♂️ gymnastics!
@@ShelleeGraham thank you 😊 I’m back here watching them again because they’re all so talented and amazing!
What’s disappointing to me is Victoria didn’t end up making it to Rio. Her bars come then were even better, absolute gold medal material but unfortunately her back just had had enough. I can relate to that issue. She still has a lot to be proud of though.
Vika is one of the only gymnasts that you literally can't take your eyes off of. Her artistry is second to none. She is so elegant......even when she makes mistakes they are elegantly made. Gabby just happen to have had a better showing on this night.
Also her beam routine wasn't ideal. She had a lot of small wobbles
Gabby - "Always the underdog; it was her time to shine🥰"! I love seeing this over and over to remind myself that the Olympics exists for giving athletes like Gabby the opportunity; restores my faith in humanity.
So very happy for Gabby. Cried tears of joy for her.
That in 2012 was a real AA final. From the scores of the year, Komova, Douglas, Raisman, Mustafina, Iordache, Wieber, anyone could had taken the gold and we had a big expectation on the OG. During the final, the top four girls fought tenth to tenth with near program level, anything could happen.
Okay…
Yes, it was actually a competition
Narnia Lullaby agreed. It was exciting and a competition to the last minute! Amazing.
Narnia Lullaby so it’s not a real final if simone biles dominates?
Hey, Drew - Why do you insist on comparing An apple and an orange??? Different time, different team, different competitors!!
Well chow knows what he’s doing. Shawn Johnson and now gabby Douglas
And also the he’s the new national Chinese team coach
Notice they wore the same number 411
@@iamacat6650 WHAAAAAT he jumped ship?
@@dogsquadindia no really after 2016 or 2017 he moved back to china and from 2018-now he’s the coach for china
Y’all. Kamova landed her vault on the uneven bars! Like she landed on the judging table. She ran off the mat and into the stands! Every step counts, then there is an additional penalty for landing outside, and then for stepping outside. That’s a LOT of deductions. Now if Aly had won with that frightening beam routine, then you could be pissed. But Gabby was cleaner. My heart still breaks for Kamova, it was just not her meet.
I agree. She still got a high vault score even with all the steps she took. Nowadays, if someone has that many steps on vault, their score would not be in the 15s. Komova did absolutely amazing but every deduction counts and gabby didn't have any major mistakes this day so idk why some people think the Americans were "unfairly overscored". Aly still did amazing as well
Edit: the only thing I can say for sure was off was Gabby having less deductions than mustafina and a close score on bars. There was no way Gabby's score should have been that close when mustafina's routine was harder and almost perfect. Gabby still got her win regardless though and she worked hard
@@murasakino101 nowadays the vault is also worth much less in d value
@@Triple_Y_turnwhich is very stupid tbh. Instead of deducting gymnasts properly, the FIG just wants to lower start values and make all the routines similar and mundane
She took a long walk on the beach.

Good to see an American commentator that’s not incredibly biased towards the American gymnasts
Well that's because back in this year and before, other countries actually had scores close to Americans. Not so much in 2016 and again now.
Shannon's amazing woman...lawyer, ovarian cancer survivor, mom and Olympian. Love her!!!
She is able to educate without all the over-enunciating and overemoting like we have to endure from Tim and Elfi. Ugh! Thank you Shannon!
I come back to this final because Shannon Miller is a great commentator, explains the skills and difficulty clearly, and is fair to every competitor
That athlete from Poland at 19:10 was absolutely amazing on floor, the artistry was out of this world!!!
This coverage is amazing. It’s wonderful to see so many gymnasts not just the top 6.
I’m glad the commentator acknowledged Dominique Dawes and the spiritual connection to Gabby’s historic win! Only better when Shannon made mentioned Dominique was present to watch it for herself! This is significant
I’m still so happy that Gabby won. I’m also sad that Viktoria didn’t get the gold but it was given on this peculiar day Gabby preformed better.
I think Komova would have won if she didn't have her costly landing on the vault. Gabby pretty much had 4 solid performances and Komova did well on the other events that I think that mistake on vault ended up being the difference.
No. Douglass out scored her on beam. Douglass would have still outscored her. Douglass beat jordan. Who beat komova. Gabby also beat her in qualifying. Full stop.
@@blackmenachievellc3770 exactly!!! I’m so freaking sick of people saying Gabby only won because of Komova’s mistakes, or that Gabby was over-scored and Komova was underscored. Gabby won because she was better, period.
@@tennislover5900 People kept underestimating Gabby and Aly so much and it was annoying. They even angrier because they both rightfully beat Jordan who wasn't just guaranteed to win any (no disrespect to her. She AMAZING but Gabby and Aly stepped up their game this year). Gabby only really had mistakes I'm qualifying but was pretty solid otherwise. Aly could have medaled too but she had some mistakes sadly. Komova was amazing but every mistake counts
Their reaction to the result are so fun to watch:
- Gabby is like a kid and don't know to celebrate
- Komova is having a mental breakdown for losing gold again against USA
- Mustafina is really proud and happy 'cause she knew she could have end up 4th just like Aly
Is true
Camera panning to Jordyn Weiber after Gabby won the AA. Bittersweet thrilled for Gabs but you can see the heartbreak on JW face.
The only thing crazier than a vault are the judges who find 10 mistakes in them in a second...
Right? In real time too.
OMG Ikr? Sometimes I think they just find "deductions" for the sake of finding deductions lol. Then other times there are very clear deductions but they can't even see them because of their view point 🤦
I really don't understand why judges aren't allowed to watch slo-mo. I guarantee many gymnasts have been screwed over by this.
Bret Milner I know right?!?😂
Nikki Kennedy like leg separation
Still amazes me how they can do all of those skills on a 4 inch beam and make it look effortless
For anyone who feels sorry for Komova, I get it. I can’t imagine her disappointment. She worked so hard to win. However, she still won silver... AT THE OLYMPIC GAMES! It’s an incredible honor, any athlete would give anything to win 1 medal, Beth Tweedle for instance was so happy about her bronze, and bronze is incredible. If you feel bad for Komova, think about the gymnasts who trained like crazy and won 0 medals, and would probably give anything to win any medal, whether it’s gold, silver or bronze. Btw, I think she and Gabby are amazing! Has Viktoria done any ballet? She carries herself with such grace and is so light on her feet! It’s always such a pleasure to watch her.
I think it’s not about the fact that she won silver, it’s about the fact that she knew she was able to win the gold, and in times where you need to be PERFECT she make some mistakes that cost her the gold, and as an athlete and as a perfectionist it’s dissappimb
Komova and all the Russians have done ballet since they were babies. They know everything when it comes to Artistry in this sport, Which in my opinion makes them more mesmerising. Russian elegance is breathtaking!
Russian athletes as a rule don't see silver or bronze as an achievement. It's first place or nothing. Anything else is considered a loss. I'm not sure why they can't just "take it on the chin" but they can't. In all the decades of watching them compete, it's always the same attitude. If it's not gold, it's as devastating a loss as if they had come in last place.
I have watched a lot of the performances of Komova in London Olympics and there was a comment so true from the commentators to describe about this genius girl, she was so talented but she could not handle her pressure in the team final, this was a fatal problem in the Olympic Games, but it was nice to see her great performance in this all-around individual final~
Charlotte Lau my heart was breaking the whole games for Russia. That team was the absolute without a doubt the most talented. I mean, I am happy for Gabby because she earned everything and so did the WAG team, but kamova was just gutted.
Gabby definitely deserved her win, but I am absolutely crushed for Komova. She placed second in so many competitions when she is a fabulous gymnast. Second in the all-around at the world championships in 2011, second in the team final in London, and then second in the all-around in London as well. She also had disappointing scores in the uneven bars final and the beam final too. She was truly one of the greatest gymnasts of her time and came so close to gold so many times. Dealing with so many harsh (and often very close) defeats must have been incredibly hard on her mentally.
I just wish she could have made it to Rio, her bars by that point were hands down the best in the world and could have easily won gold. I’m glad though she listened to her back and didn’t try it- I know how much back issues can be a problem.
This commentary is soooo much better than any NBC one
I must say, Komova is really harsh on herself.
She really is
Yeah she did so well but was still upset
I always think how they don’t appreciate getting a medal like a lot of the athletes don’t get a medal and would be very happy with a silver
@@angeliastone-tolcher2386 Aliya looked pretty happy with BRonze
I agree. I would’ve been stoked with silver! But I think that these girls are conditioned to think that if it isn’t gold, then that’s not good enough. Sad really.
aww, look that sad look on Raisman`s face when she stayed 4th, if she would knew her time is coming in 4 years later
ansaksa So glad it did! Aly performed better in ‘16 than in ‘12.
She was a little lucky that Larissa Iodache was injured. She is a far better gymnast.
@@kundakaps "little lucky" lmao, things happen. even if iordache isnt injured, we're not sure of whats gonna happen. aly might fall off bars, or iordache might fall while perfoming a tumbling pass.
@@kpopjiminiea1565 yup ally is lucky no big competitor like komova at rio. if not komova would get the silver again. hahaha
@@izzehank1608i can understand why she might have been off her game she was only being sexually abused her entire career
And to think who is part of the amazing team the AA silver medalists make (Shawn Johnson, Svetlana Khorkina, Simona Amanar, Aly Raisman, Rebeca Andrade), Komova is part of this group of hugely distinct gymnasts (or better, queens) and deserves it. And millions of gymnastics fans became inconditional fans of her, she's admired and became indeed the personal favorite of thounsands (if not millions). She can be proud of the great job she did in London.
She’s too stupid to realize that. She’s such a bad sport.
I just wish she could have gone to Rio (back problem) because her bars were absolute gold medal standard at that point. Still, one of the sport’s legends.
If Komova had done her usual vault landing she wouldn’t have incurred a 0.5 deduction and won the gold. So sad that one landing cost her the ultimate dream.
How incredible is Queen Aliya to win the bronze with a fall off the beam. She’s a true queen and champion.
It’sOk2NotBOk Whodis I’m a USA gymnastics fan but I still love me some Queen Mustafina. She’s always been one of my favorites.
It often comes down to the little details. I just wish she could have gotten to Rio as she could easily have been bars champion.
The one that impressed me the most during this was Mustafina- a year and a half earlier- torn ACL. Hockey players, baseball players, football players… many find that career ending. She came back and won FOUR medals including the bar’s crown.
I still don’t get she didn’t share bronze with aly. Exact same score. If they explained it I missed it all these years. Felt like aly was cheated.
@@Rbb0828 they have some sort of procedure to break ties in the AA - and every individual event. It’s the most heinous, ridiculous thing in any sport in history, when you consider that the scoring is highly subjective. Same with Vanessa Ferrari, she should have shared floor bronze. Fortunately, in the end they both got the medal they each deserved in subsequent Olympics.
@@saragrant9749 agree, it was/is heinous!
Different sports.
@@azieldaly2965doesn’t matter. It’s a rule that is a complete fallacy and is absolutely pointless. So many have been wronged by it.
30:32 Komova’s bar routine - so lovely, difficult with exquisite execution. 👍
Komova’s sheep jump on beam tho 😳
Yes it’s total perfection!!!
Picture perfect. She should have got the gold just for the beauty of that jump! 😊
god how amazing it wouldve been to be able to see Komova in NCAA in the US. i enjoyed her gymnastics after she grew into her adult body. i think it was better. she couldnt do an amanar anymore but as gorgeous as she was here, she was even moreso later. she would have absolutely dominated in NCAA
I must say that if Aly would've got the bronze medal here she probably would've retired and wouldn't be the successful gymnast she is now.(Silver medalist in 2016 AA) Things happen for a reason.
Maybe.
However, if Larissa Iordache and Viktoria Komova were healthy, things would have been different. I think both are better gymnasts than Aly Raisman.
mudr kk you keep saying that but they both lack the consistency that aly has. While she’s a great gymnast, I’ve seen iordache choke when it counts. You gotta hit when it counts or it doesn’t matter who you ‘think’ is better.
She probably wouldn't have subjected herself to 4 more years of torture from that horrible horrible man. I guess things happen for a reason.
@@kundakaps A healthy Larissa would have taken silver easily in AA Rio.
@@MsMichelle1010
Come on.
You know Raisman struggles on UB.
She has fallen a couple of times.
Injuries hampered Iordache and Komova more than choking.
Consistency is not something Raisman has over them. Even Simone chocked at the Olympics on BB.
I wish Shannon muller would always be a announcer she’s so eloquent when she talks and tells you the routines and what each things are called I just love her
I love seeing the building up to the Victory ceremony 😍
Kamova’s vault was good... until the landing ☹️ I still think Gabby won fair and square
I do too think gabby douglas should win and she did.
Imo, they were both significantly over scored on 1 event. (Komova - vault. Douglas - beam.) Even if the judging had been more fair it still could have ended the same way due to a tie-break. In the end it is a subjective sport and all we can do is wonder what if.
Komova should have known she would win silver at most after Gabby's floor. She needed a 15.359 so with her 5.8 SV she would need to score 9.559 E which is almost impossible in FX.
Menawo Rigg 9.3 execution wowed me honestly. i thought the judges would find at least .2 more of nit picky errors that literally no one else sees but hey she should be proud that she got that high of an e score in floor and only lost the gold by .259. but you’ll never see her smile about winning silver
Menawo, gymnasts don't make calculus before their routines, sometimes coaches do and give some councils, like "try that skill" or "don't risk that" (like Izbasa in VT TF). But the girl herself doesn't perform thinking in numbers. That's why Raisman lost the bronze that day, for example, she didn't know Aliya was too close after her mistake on beam and didn't use her full difficulty.
Just remember that Shawn also entered the floor without difficulty enough to reach Nastia, and still expected a gold. I remember, while she's performing, the maths annoying guy Tim Daggett said something like "she doesn't know, but Nastia already is the olympic all-around champion".
Americans in 2012 waited until the final score, holding hands, in big tension, like waiting a big surprise, even knowing they were leading by 2 points since first rotation. It's the sport.
Narnia Lullaby I agree. If Aly did her punch front layout in her first pass, she could've won bronze.
Aashish Aribam she had a 9.1 e score and a 6.0 difficulty
How I wish Aly had gone for that final flip on her opening pass. She decreased her D score by taking it out. She nailed the entire pass successfully in the event final. She could have won bronze if she performed it successfully in the all-around. But no worries, Aly! You were awesome, and you won an all-around medal in 2016. Too bad they couldn’t give two bronzes in 2012, really, but then would we have seen Aly competing in 2016? Maybe it was for the best in the end.
I would really love to see Shannon Miller head of US Gymanastics. She's amazing woman and compassionate, legal background and so many attributes. She would be good fit for turning mess around
She could take Nastia job on nbc
I don't understand why they have to break the tie. Other Olympic sports grant ties
Cheyenne Marie yes, many they didn’t have enough medals? (Idrk)
They don't even break ties in Worlds. Why do they do it here?
Cheyenne Marie And it was a new rule for this Olympics. Crushing for Ali. But she showed everybody 4 years later.
@@asherraymond4430 Because the IOC insists upon it
The fact that theses commentators can't give the praise to the winner says it all. Congratulations Gabby!
Komova-queen of inbars. Tremendous work!!
If aly raisman added the punch layout on her floor even a touch on the beam.. she coud score 15.5 or more in floor and get bronze
Years and years with OG tie-braking. When an american lost the medal because of it, everybody "woooooooow whaaat a unfair rule". Did any american journal or commentator complain when Ponor was said to move out from the "medalist line-up", because of tie-breaking in favor of Aly? I don't remember.
Same thing with country limitation rules: when sovietics and romanians filled the finals, everybody, inclusive the rising USA, was lobbing to create the rule. Now, these two decades that USA got the lead, every single american media and fan is "waaaaait, what unfair rule, look poor Wieber".
Narnia Lullaby - you are forgetting that during those many years, a significant number of the judges were from Soviet bloc countries. Would you have had the courage to vote for an American or other westerner and make Stalin, Khrushchev, Brerznev and/or the KGB unhappy?
Any actual US gymnastics year round fan. Not just the general public, knows that Mustafina is tremendous. I’ve never talked to someone who didn’t love her. Once the 10.0 system was dropped, a lot of the politics fell out. It’s still there, but it’s just normal bias and not outright shenanigans. As judge you work hard to be as non biased as possible, but you get used to your federations style. And they are all correct. So it’s kind of crazy hard. I think the tie break at the olympics is stupid. They don’t do it at worlds ( watch Glasgow uneven bar event final ). Just the olympics, and the countries don’t like it either.
Alright I get you but cmon. Ponor definitely shouldn’t have won bronze with those huge wobbles. Aly had one. I totally understand why they had aly win and I do agree with these AA results because yeah aly didn’t fall on beam, but her bars were awful compared to Aliya’s and Aliya scores so well on vault floor and bars
Just rewatching this after such a long time. Love Shannon as a commentator, but it seems like the male commentator was fishing for some drama here and there. Like 56:45 when he's talking about Wieber. Shannon had a classy comeback tho...
Raisman 15.900 on vault with that horrifying form & extra jump???
I really like Aly but yes, she was so incredibly overscored. At least Mustafina got the bronze in the end.
I know right
definitely overscored
The d score then was 6.5 tho
She got what she got because of her difficulty score and her exaqution was not that bad I've seen well worse
So sad that the Romanian team just exploded into shrapnel after this olympics. It was shocking to me they didn’t make the 2016 olympics. They’ve been such a power house for so long. Was hoping Andrea Raducan would take over and get things together but they blocked her from doing much as soon as she was seated
Yeah 2012 was really the time where the wheels really wobbled for the Romanian team and ready to crash the vehicle. They only medaled that year because Ponor and Izbasa carried so much weight on their shoulders, after Iordache being injured and the other two not contributing much. Going into Rio I have had a thought that with just Ponor Romania would not make it to podium, they ended up worse: not even making the finals. That's how bad they have crashed, after 40 years and 10 games in a row medaling.
I feel like the reason for the decline in Russian and Romanian gymnastics is because they are (or were) state tun and when the government ran out of money, particularly in Romania, the system collapsed. In the States, you pretty much have to be rich or Biles level extraordinary to even be considered to be good enough to make the Olympic Team. Families of Olympians have actually gone into debt, but in the States, that’s just a personal problem and one individual doesn’t make or break the team.
Viktoria Komova's floor routine is superior to Gabrielle Douglas routine. VIKTORIA is near to perfection she had no reason to cry, she was the QUEEN!

So many what-ifs with this competition. What if Komova hadn't stepped off the podium on her vault, what if Aly hadn't made the mistake on bars, what if Aly and Aliya had both hit on beam. It'd be interesting to total up the best scores for each event during the Olympics and see, if they had all hit, how the places would have aligned.

Komova was never the queen of consistency, but she is a BEAUTIFUL gymnast to watch. Gorgeous lines and great toe point. Glad she is making a comeback for Tokyo 2020.
I really hate the 2 per country rule. Like Jordyn was 4th in qualifying but that dumb rule takes her (one of the best) out and allows someone who didn’t even make top 24 in. IMO, it dumbs down the competition instead of having the best in the world competing. So what if one country sweeps the podium
I could not agree more!!
É o justo
It's a Terrible rule
They need to either figure out a different way to break the tie, or just give it to both of them. What's the point of taking the lowest score away? It's the best AA, aka ALL 4 apparatuses, not 3.
If anything they should drop the highest score, that way the system doesn't benefit specialist
@Julieta yeah the way they just drop the lowest score seems kinda arbitrary. Isn’t gymnastics all about execution? So why not just use those scores?
Also if you think about it if Aly Raisman added her punch front layout in front of her first pass and didn’t take a big hop those tenths would have earned her the bronze. But I’m proud of Mustafina even though she had an injury!
Komova in this final just breaks my heart, over 12 years later and i don’t think there’s been a better AA final yet. If only she landed that vault properly id say she’d would’ve won no doubt. I wish Komova had returned in Rio 💔💔
Indeed, a deserving winner.
im just amazed that they are able to do this!
Douglas
Vault - 00:01
Bars - 42:47
Beam - 1:06:05
Floor - 1:29:45
Edit: Why is her Vault not shown? What a travesty! She is the champion.
the tiebreaker isn't execution. that's the second step. first they take the lowest score away and then if it's still tie, they do execution
Xiaocai Falls Yes, that's right. But imagine if Aly had done the layout after her double arabian she would have gotten bronze
+Sonja ha true. but I think she's throwing with a silver now
yes you are right
She would've gotten the bronze, for sure. The 0.2 gain is certain, because difficult score is objetive. And she would not receive a major deduction, even under rotating, because judges were very "soft" at that day.
It’s such lunacy! Olympic Committee is so weird. FIG has no problem tying people!
Komova is just lovely and elegant, she won in my heart.
🙄
Big time ❤
Mustafina is so stunning...her Raismen., Ponor are beautiful
Princess Shay - it always surprises me that Mustafina's bar routine is the shortest of all (20 seconds max) and she is never penalized.
@@tacksscherbo7771 can't penalize someone for doing nothing wrong
@@jayjaxon4272 That wasn't a criticism, Jay, but merely an observation. I always felt she deserved the medals she won.
@@tacksscherbo7771 she deserves it! if she woouldn't have come off the bar there wouldn't be any tie
I wish when they were broadcast. Olympic all-around gymnastics gymnastics competitors in the finals and show all of them
I think the broadcast would be like, 5 hours long. I’d watch it but also think a lot of people would tune out, plus it would probably cost a FORTUNE to broadcast it for that long.
I really got the impression that Gabby was not treated the best by the rest of her teammates. That whole thing with Ali sticking her tongue out when they were talking about Gabby in the group in the olympic trials (I think it was), and just watching all of their demeanors throughout - I'm super happy she got this medal. She was (no clue if she still is) a very humble, sweet hearted young lady, and I love that she beat out all those teammates to get in, and win, the all around. Those girls were in a tough age where clicks and isolation was the norm - heck I know I did it back then. But when you're on a world stage, it's pretty hard to cover it up. Just watch when the team challenge went down - the hugs were more stand off ish with Gabby - you can see it in the competitions leading up to the olympics too. I mean, just in this one alone, how was her teammates not absolutely screaming and cheering for her? 1:41:20
Did anybody notice none of the other the other competitors from other teams did not congratulate Gabby Douglas for winning the all-around
I think all of them wanted komova to win so bad
tbh, I wanted Komova to win as well, but she had mistakes and it ended up costing her the gold medal. Gabby was fabulous and she peaked at the right time and made no costly mistakes. Not saying I don't like the US Team or I like the Russion team better, but I do prefer Komova and Mustafina over Douglas and Raisman. There's just something about them that attracts me to their gymnastic.
That's not entirely true. Deng LinLin and her coach congratulated Gabby (it's more visible on the NBC feed), as did the Russian coach with glasses.
Because those two didn't have enough caffeine or to much caffeine, not fair to other gymnists.
Mustafina and Komova are dream team ❤
The amazing Shannon Miller, the true champion! ❤
I'm surprised there's so many empty seats.
shirley leah its expensive to sit there
roomijsjeee
yeah I wanted to go there but couldnt afford it at that time... „cheapest“ seat was 700€
Does anyone else think Rebecca Tunney is so cute?
Sasha Kuroso 🙋♀️
I do too😊😍🙋🏾♂️
I do! Miss Twiglet!
such awesome athletes
Can Shannon just be the commentator on all gymnastics competitions 😅
I think Komova was so upset because it was basically her vault that lost her the gold... that's rough
Why is it that whenever the crowd claps they’re NEVER ON THE BEAT!?😡
Qaszxc
Yes, Vika's floor was absolutely stunning, almost flawless. But no, lol, her floor routine won't make me forget her awful vault. That's why she fell in second place
Amanda Maddox lol whenever someone says "komova was the true winner" or "she was robbed," all I have to say is AA vault quitter. Srsly. She gave up the gold on that piece
exactly!
And she also got a 15.466 on the vault 😒
Komova's vault was horrible, true. But what about Gabi's balance beam routine? I think they scored her too much on it...
I agree. I think Komova would improve her performance overall if she fought a little more on her landings and skills. As soon as it's a little off she just throws it away. AA vault, beam final...
The Russian leotards are GORGEOUS here! I love them🤩❤️
Pause on 53:41 !!! She's incredible. Should have won just for that.
Recordar el momento en que ganó gaby 😉 sin duda un día muy emotivo desde México siempre apoyando al equipo Estadounidense 🤗
Qué asco de lamebotas 🤢
Queen Mustafina 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Dude, this male commentator, Matt Baker is just out of the world. I am so attracted merely to his voice
I miss gymnastics without Simone Biles when the all around champion was such an exciting race!
Daniela Trindade
I agree. Simone is sooo much fun to watch, and absolutely deserves everything she gets, but I miss the intensity of wondering who's day it'll be.
me too
I agree because she is basically a given in any event she competed in? That kind of makes it less exciting. But she is still amazing to watch because she is so consistent.
But u never kno.. in Rio for the beam finals she lost balance and grabbed the beam.. e ven with that she got the Bronze ..
Princess Shay i’m american and i can confidently say that she didn’t deserve beam bronze AT ALL
True champions sometimes come second with silver medals. Douglas deserved too. So Mustafina and Raismann.
Amazing gymnastics era!
I just wish she’d gotten to Rio, she could have easily won gold on bars. She was smart though to not go- back issues are no joke.

vika u will always be the champion in my heart
Could you please upload Rio 2016 final?
If Nastya had performed like in Beijing, she would have been a champion.
no, her vaults start value was too low for this quad. you needed an Amanar to win
OMG Alexandra Raisman on bars wow!
Komovas vault still haunts me 12 years later
I can't help but root for Komova somehow. Wish she'd have won gold.
lala I would have rather seen Mustafina win Gold. She’s so consistent.
I can't believe the US doesn't at least try to tailor the track suits the athletes wear? Gabby is drowning in hers.
Maybe she likes it like that.
Felicidades a ellas, en especial a Gaby Duglas.
Gah the final minutes when they were figuring who was gonna be gold vs silver& then who would be bronze & who would JUST MISSSS a medal was sooo heartwrenching & hard to watch- can't help but feel for Aly Raisman & Victoria Komova & Aliyah Mustafina... Obviously stoked Gabby won gold- go USA! But honestly, after seeing how devastated those poor girle on that entire Russian team were when they started having some issues on beam then virtually just fell apart on floor & were just having to stand there with cameras in their faces for the entire world to see while their little hearts were breaking knowing they lost any chance and gold- I'm kind of happy Aliyah ended up winning the tie for Bronze over Aly- that would have just been soooo cruel to see them lose their chance at team gold, THEN watch Komova's little heart breaking AGAIN when she loses gold to USA AGAIN individually- then if Mustafina ALSO would have lost that tie to finish out of the medals behind another USA gymnast?! Oh man.... I might have cried FOR them. And/or it might've just been the start of the Second Cold War....lol.
Wonder why Aliyah kept going & ended up the captain even for the Rio games & did soooo well, but Komova obviously didn't...? She was arguably an even better Russian gymnast than Aliyah- and younger too i think? It makes me wonder if when you get your heart broken like that sometimes you just don't have it in you to put in ANOTHER FOUR YEARS to try again but, in reality, it's likely gonna end the same way or WORSE!?
I've dealt with some pretty awful competetive heartbreak in my teens as well with my North American Junior Olympics for Equestrian 3 Day Eventing... I was leasing a loony little $4,000, muttly , funny colored, completely out of place looking 15h Anglo-Arabian/Registered Buckskin Paint gelding, Borys, who I began my partnership with by sheer chance at age 12 when my own horse came up lame 2 days before leaving for Northwest Area VII Championships& instead of having to scratch & be out around $500- a woman at the barn offered her horse to me at the very last ninute- I had to swap out of the Championship division since clearly I hadn't qualified on this horse I'd never even SAT ON until about 18hrs before my first ride time at the competition, after we arrived on the show grounds... And we ended up moving up from 24th after the 1st phase all the way to 7th after cross country because we were one of only a few pairs to complete the xc course penalty free- then with another flawless round in the final day- we finished in 4th- and even though my horse ended up only needing 8 weeks off& was ready to go again- I just fell in LOVE with Borys and so I continued leasing and competing him along with my own horse even once he was okay again... I was the first KID to try riding him & just wasn't TERRIFIED of what a lunatic he was when he jumped- like EVERY PREVIOUS OF HIS HAD BEEN!! So we ended up developing an amazing partnership & his owner even began looking into bigger, international competitions for us along with my trainer, and even started helping me out by paying for some of my training & lessons on HER horse, bought me the most beautiful, EXPENSIVE new tack & equipment whenever me or her horse needed something new for higher levels & even a nearly $700 GPA helmet to jump upper levels in so I'd be safer- she even began helping to pay for my show entry fees- first just the stabling fee or half of the total but eventually she paid for everything except my FOOD basically! And so between age 12 to 14 we moved up together from the 2nd lowest level to International levels- only about 2 levels below actual Olympics- in only two years without a single hiccup. I actually received the 4 necessary qualifying scores to enter our first ever FEI International competition at the CCI1* Long Format level at our very 1st 4 times moving up to that level- and at that competion- I ended up losing a tie for 2nd to finish in beyond respectable 3rd place & should have immediately been qualified for/been selected for our area's Jr Olympic team... Buuut.... I was just about 11 months TOO YOUNG To legally compete yet! I would've turned 15 that year but you had to turn 16 in that year to qualify... So. Instead of staying at the same level for another 2 years simply because I was already gonna be qualified seemed ridiculous when MAYBE, just MAYBE, instead we could work our BUTTS off and over the next 18months, we could move up to only ONE LEVEL below Olympics- Intermediate &CIC/CCI2**- and ride at the junior Olympics in the individuals for THAT LEVEL - since they didn't do teams at that level because there weren't enough 2* level riders between the ages of 16-21 in North America qualified to make up TEAMS... It's just about 25-30 individuals. So, I purposely passer up competing in the junior Olympics at the lower 1* level to instead be a SUPER badass and make my Jr Olympic debut again at the youngest legal age in the highest division there was... And I was qualified already by spring time, and the junior Olympics weren't until August in Kentucky- but in early summer, competing at a very difficult event I didn't even NEED to do to earn my place- my poor Borys was injured on Steeplechase - phase 2 of the 4 phases that make up the 2nd day- cross country... And it sadly turned out to be a pretty catastrophic, career ending, irreparable injury that never allowed him to jump above just about 2'6" again... Certainly was over with for being MY eventing partner and, I didn't know it THEN- but in those 90 seconds or so on Steeplechase whe he was injured- it ended my dreams of ever competing in the Junior Olympics or competing at that level or caliber again. I got sooo lucky to have this insane but insanely TALENTED little horse fall into my lap, who was only $4,000 but who I was able to build a partnership with to rival the riders with $80,000 been there done that fancy horses & compete at that same high of a level... And that dream got destroyed when he got hurt- I tried for the next 6 years to get to even the level I was at at age 14 again but it just never happened- its an unbelievable kind of heartbreak someone who's never competed at a high level of a sport and had to face such heartbreak could ever understand.... And so often it really IS your one & ONLY opportunity & if you blow it...? You'll NEVER get another chance!!! It's soooo sad but true!!
anyone know where i can watch the finals from rio? i know i already watched them once (the entire team and AA competition) but i cant seem to find them anymore
same here its been difficult to find
Scroll down the page and you'll find it . Hope that helped;)!!
Biles found 2 extra gears, the others will have to up their game.
The Russian girl should be proud it’s no loss to get a silver medal it’s a accomplishment that many don’t receive so I hope she smiles for the amazing athlete all of these woman are. Godbless
In the end she was very proud. It’s just difficult to know you could have won… and didn’t because of a few I’ll timed errors.
