Its amazing the huge contrast in the reactions to silver from this Russian team vs 2012. Seemed like they have a lot more positive and good sports this time.
Remember the year they were so mad to get 2nd? They took those medals off immediately. They were awful sports that year. That was the same year the vault was not the right height.
The 2012 team on paper should have been neck and neck with the US. The 2016 team knew there was no chance for gold so silver was basically winning, since they could have been pushed down if GB and a few of the other teams had gotten their act together.
The gold was within their reach in London, but they messed up so bad at the last part. That's why they were devastated and cried. This time, they did well and no major mistakes so yea, they probably satisfied.
So pissed that instead of getting to watch the gorgeous Dutch floor routines, we get useless shots of gymnastics doing literally nothing. WHY do they do this?! These gymnasts work so hard and the world wants to see them DO the things, and instead the majority of the broadcast is GYMNASTS NOT DOING ANYTHING!!! How can we let this stand? Someone needs to do better. Broadcasters, camera people SOMEONE!!!
Omg YESSSSSSSS!!!! I'm old so I'm gonna show my age here, but I've watched each Olympics Gymnastics meet since Barcelona 1992 and this has ALWAYS been a problem. They'll awkwardly keep the camera in the face of some girl who is happy to smile and say hello, but wanting to FOCUS. Instead of creepily hovering in someone's face, why not cover other routines? SO much wasted time. Something else I've always said: they're able to flash a constant stream of sports scores across the bottom of the screen during any sporting event. Would it really be so hard to have a scroll of scores? Like if we're watching a routine and a score from a prior competitor or another apparatus comes through..... SHOW IT. 😠😠😠😠
Gawd how I miss Aly. She’s got the best floor routine (and body) in the business haha. And I just loved watching her guide the younger girls. Even teaching them how to hold up their medals and such. She’s a true gem.
Isn’t that Aly’s floor music (1:04:43), while she’s doing her beam routine?? What a coincidence that someone would have the same music and that they would be completing their floor while she was on the beam 😳😍
Right?! I always look so MAD AND SERIOUS in my professional pics of me jumping and riding my horses at shows.... I'm always so happy when they actually snap a more candid one of me with a huge grin on my face or with my reins in one hand reaching up to give my boy a big.rub by his ears & you can see my mouth is wide open in a half grin saying "GOOOOOD BOYYYY!!!!!" I ALLLLWAYS buy those pics when I see them 😊

Know what I'm BORED WITH?! I SWEAR... ever since poor Alicia S's fall when she attempted her very difficult mount onto beam & started the USA's downward spiral in Beijing towards losing the team gold to China.... Doesn't it seem like most of these girls DONT bother even taking SMALL chances when mounting the beam?! I understand nerves and just wanting to get up there and start & not worry about having to nail a super difficult mount from the very start... But pffft. It's BOOOORING!!! Everyone just kinda hops up there from the floor or jumps up from the side or end from the trampoline!! No one even does unique, but perhaps less tricky mounts like Nastia's where she would mount from the side and go straight into a handstand & splits... I don't think any of these girls did any sort of REALLY "difficult" beam mounts?! BOOOOO! I wanna see somr CARNAGE SOMETIMES, DANG IT!!! COME ONNNN!!!
I was a no competitive gymnast for about 10 years. The bars always scared me. Watching these beautiful women just work! every event is beautiful. It amazes me how they are able to do beam and stay on too.
Forever heartbroken for Mao yi, she was probably my favorite in the Chinese team and she didn't deserve this poor performances at the Olympics, I hope she's doing well right now on whatever her projects are 💖💖🇨🇳

Flash Back Friday, this is the best to watch before, after, and during quarantine,... Who else enjoying this beside me raise your hand 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
Aly is so adorable, she was such a great leader and mom to team, when Simone said “what you said Aly?” (at the 2:20:00 mark) and Aly said she thinks it would be cute to hold the medal up to their ear. I heard her say “hold it up” to them when it was time… it looked so cute and they all did so well. Can’t wait for this year’s!
I don't like Paseka's vaulting style but she really did come through to secure her team's silver medal! One of my favorite moments of the entire competition
What secured their medal- silver in particular- was the fact that they just stayed steady and focused, didn’t let a fall on beam slow them and then- as you mentioned- capped with Maria hitting her crucial vault. That’s how it’s done!
She was incredibly consistent throughout the games- which is why she was chosen over Ashton. She also had the difficulty to win if she hit (silver isn’t half bad though!), which Ashton didn’t sadly.
not sure anyone was aware.....but when Ali was on beam, someone had part of her music in their routine on floor.....and she still nailed it....i would never have been able to concentrate like that!
I just love how it didn’t matter what country any of them were from. Laurie, Aly, & Simone had the whole crowd going crazy for floor. Floor was my favorite when I did gymnastics and floor will always be my favorite to watch. All of it is amazing, though. 💗

B Porter due to copyright reasons it wasn’t available in my country 🌚🙃
Lauren Hernandez is so excited i love it
50:05 when Gabrielle lands you can see Logan and jake Paul dabbing with USA attire on..I’m embarrassed 😖
pieces of trash, they weren’t even looking at her while she was performing
lmao i saw him stand up and i was like “is that? No, it can’t”
oh my gosh, I never even noticed that! I think Jake was actually looking but Logan was on his phone or something for most of it. I always feel second hand embarrassment whenever I see something in the news about them. If this what the younger generation is looking up to, I'm appalled. People have got to have higher standards.
I’m dead🤣
I didn't even notice that until you said something. I was focused on Gabby the whole time.
didn't expect a gymnast from Japan to use music in her floor exercise that I used to sing as a camper in a Jewish overnight camp on Friday nights, but here we are!! so glad to see our music being used in such beautiful ways
it's like they knew 2020 would be postponed and so they dropped this as a band aid on our hearts
Watching this gets me so hyped up for 2021!!! I’m not even American and I’m so excited to see Simone Biles again!
Please AA from Rio!!!
Only the best in the biggest competition on Earth. I would love to be there one day.
You can do it! I will remember ur name, or username
Do it! Are you a gymnast too?
@@JennaLeigh No. I play football/soccer.
@@DanielO-100 gotcha! Well, you know what to do!! Train, train, train! Work harder than ever. You have it within you to do AMAZING things!.. best of luck 💖
@@JennaLeigh Oh my gosh. Thank you for the advice and compliment that means so much. Will get onto it.
China's leotards are fire. Just beautiful.
I feel like they're always so elegant and creative compared to USA!
@@jennacrafts4741 the American leotard is usually based on their flag so it a bit repetitive and boring I agree
Jenna Crafts yep but USA still takes the win
USA team is always strong why but china population 1.4billion but no tellent only joke of population 😁🤣🤣🤣
RED BULL channel no China have won many golds, besides population does not determine everything, you don’t see India win tons of golds right?
When aly did her beam routine she must have been so confused by the person on floor because they were using her music! 🤣
Its Angelina melnikova
I really want the Japanese to win a team medal they are so passionate about this! They definitely deserve one!
They are getting closer to having the strength and depth to do so!
Yes!
@@lesliewilhelmus656 That was Sydney 2000. Led by the lovely Svetlana Khorkina.
@@Ilovegymnastics-ks4ii I can just hear the sarcasm dripping in spades in that comment 😂
SHOW IT. 😠😠😠😠
Samantha Mathews different chanel will air the different counties.
Only USA floor routine was good anyway
Comrade Shaandan The other country’s teams worked really hard and had some beautiful routines as well. Don’t be so quick to shut down other teams.
@@NzPhenomenon shhh. Your ignorance is showing.
Gawd how I miss Aly. She’s got the best floor routine (and body) in the business haha. And I just loved watching her guide the younger girls. Even teaching them how to hold up their medals and such. She’s a true gem.

Why is no one talking how solid Aly's beam was.
They are all so super talented!! Gabby Douglas is my favorite gymnast of all time!
Gabby Douglas is my favorite too.
be faster, nari.
Why yes, @olympic, I do indeed now have 2+ hours to watch this
Haha I certainly shouldn't have but I did anyways
Almost 4 years later and I still feel the same emotions
Isn’t that Aly’s floor music (1:04:43), while she’s doing her beam routine?? What a coincidence that someone would have the same music and that they would be completing their floor while she was on the beam 😳😍
Soon we'll have a new Olympics to rewatch over and over!
I love when they smile and get excited 🥺❤️
Right?! I always look so MAD AND SERIOUS in my professional pics of me jumping and riding my horses at shows.... I'm always so happy when they actually snap a more candid one of me with a huge grin on my face or with my reins in one hand reaching up to give my boy a big.rub by his ears & you can see my mouth is wide open in a half grin saying "GOOOOOD BOYYYY!!!!!" I ALLLLWAYS buy those pics when I see them 😊
I have to say, my favorite floor routine was Pauline Schafer's. She had such beautiful music, plus her landings were really good
39:14 that triple turn. 🤩😍
That routine was perfect!
Amazing 💕
Watching this in March 2020 & loving it. Yes, during the quarantine. Just learned the 2020 Olympics is officially delayed until 2021 bc of the Coronavirus. But, that’s necessary to keep everyone safe. ⚡️🤸♀️⚡️🇺🇸🏅
Liz Miller the delay worked for me. That way I’ll have the chance to go to my first olympics ever.
ZC94601 that’s awesome
I just learned yesterday it was delayed. I never watch tv though.

@2:10:13 Thank you/ありがとうございます to the Team 日本 (Japan) Gymnast who is joining in the "U-S-A!" crowd chants following Simone Biles floor routine! 🇯🇵 ❤️ 🇺🇸 🤸♀️
Always impressed by the great sportsmanship and class the Japanese athletes have. :)
Aly Raisman 🥰🥰🥰
And now the ROC won gold and USA got silver in Tokyo.. congrats to both teams 🥰🥰
Wishing that the Tokyo Olympic were coming. Bored at home... But I'm watching this so I'm not bored anymore😁
I heard they are not doing it till 2021 but these are still very entertaining!!!!!
2:17:06 The crowd reaction when they mention “Aliya Mustafina” ❤️❤️❤️
Forever heartbroken for Mao yi, she was probably my favorite in the Chinese team and she didn't deserve this poor performances at the Olympics, I hope she's doing well right now on whatever her projects are 💖💖🇨🇳
I know me too. Any news of her recovery? Ever since that horrible vault accident she had in the American Cup ...
thank you so much for taking my suggestion on twitter! i love gymnastics! all team, all-around and event finals are beautiful to watch these days

For some reason...I love watching all competitions from 2012 backwards it was more exciting because there was more than one person who could win now there’s just Simone 🤣 she wins everything amazing athlete but it’s not the same knowing who’s going to win
For sure😂
These olympics were amazing that way! Love Simone, but it was really cool to watch this year!
Laurie Hernandez has the biggest eyes I have ever seen.. she is adorable!
Yessss finally with the good commentators!!

Pauline Schaefer’s floor routine was beautiful.
I was looking for this comment. Her floor was absolutely gorgeous, and I felt it was a tad underscored.
A great way of stay home! Thank you Olympic Channel ! Can you Please upload the others Event ? ❤️✌🏻

@@aprilsilvers381 her Bars routine
I love the Japanese , Dutch and Brazilian team ❤️💚
I don't like Paseka's vaulting style but she really did come through to secure her team's silver medal! One of my favorite moments of the entire competition
What secured their medal- silver in particular- was the fact that they just stayed steady and focused, didn’t let a fall on beam slow them and then- as you mentioned- capped with Maria hitting her crucial vault. That’s how it’s done!
yes.
Laurie's pure joy can cheer anyone up
Who else is praying to at least one deity and ancestor daily that we will have a Tokyo 2020 Olympics? I need to see gymnastics.
Jennifer moved to 2021
Fake olympics.
Madison Kocian's routine at 1:01:09 omg! Killed it!
She was incredibly consistent throughout the games- which is why she was chosen over Ashton. She also had the difficulty to win if she hit (silver isn’t half bad though!), which Ashton didn’t sadly.
Yes ❤
Some girls are so young. This is so difficult. Much respect for all of them.
not sure anyone was aware.....but when Ali was on beam, someone had part of her music in their routine on floor.....and she still nailed it....i would never have been able to concentrate like that!
That was Angelina Melnikova of Russia. Her version was more similar to the original Russian music than Aly's.
We need more routines like Laurie’s! 😍
Minus the abusive coach prowling in the background.

I just love how it didn’t matter what country any of them were from. Laurie, Aly, & Simone had the whole crowd going crazy for floor. Floor was my favorite when I did gymnastics and floor will always be my favorite to watch. All of it is amazing, though. 💗
Simone Biles never gives up and she is the best gymnast in the world! I do gymnastics because I want to be just like her😊
