- Welcome to our House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 8 Finale Reaction! This episode we had some fantastic scenes with both Rhaenyra and Alicent having a long awaited conversation.
During the season 2 finale, Tyland Lannister allies with the Triarchy, but first, he must defeat Sealord Lohar in a mud-wrestling match. Impressed by Tyland, Lohar asks him to father children with his wives.
Larys persuades Aegon to sneak off to Braavos, where Harrenhal's gold is hidden. Rhaena discovers the wild dragon. Gwayne challenges Criston, who regrets starting the war. Aemond and Vhagar lay waste to the city of Sharp Point.
Rhaenyra, who hoped her dragons would deter war, decides to go to war. Aemond wants Helaena to fly Dreamfyre, but she and Alicent are unhappy. Simon informs Rhaenyra that Daemon may be disloyal, prompting her and Addam to fly to Harrenhal. Alys leads Daemon to a weirwood tree, where he envisions a future that includes the Night King and Daenerys Targaryen.
Seeing himself as part of a larger story, he swears fealty to the newly-arrived Rhaenyra. Corlys renames his ship "Queen Who Never Was," but Alyn rebuffs his attempts at reconciliation. Helaena tells Aemond he will die and that killing her won't change that. With Orwyle's help, Alicent sneaks into Dragonstone, offering to surrender King's Landing to Rhaenyra, who responds that Aegon's head must fall to ensure a smooth transition. Otto appears in a cage as warriors and dragons majestically proceed to battle.

@OfficialMediaKnights the only thing is I thought there was going to be atleast one battle lol or a death or something 😂 but still enjoyed it and great reaction as always ❤️
@oliviatellez4951 Same here! Thought the buildup was gonna reach a climax during the finale but nope! Saved it for the beginning of season 3 😭
@OfficialMediaKnights it was like a 70 minute trailer for season 3 😭😂
I laughed so hard at the thumbnail. Both of you with a shocked look on your faces, eventhough NOTHING exciting happened, LOL. This entire season has been a snoozer, the only good part has been your reaction's. This season is a 4/10 and that's being nice.
@thepeopleschamp9076 Seeing a Daenerys reference was pretty awesome! Man this season could’ve benefited from one more episode. Just one more to end it with a bang!
Simon Strong wasn't trying to cause trouble between Rhaenyra and Daemon. He was actually worried about an uprising from Daemon's part because of Alfred, who was telling Daemon that he should lead instead of Rhaenyra. He was sent there to see how Daemon was doing, gathering an army, getting ready to figth, and report back to Rhaenyra. Instead, he ended up talking about treachery to Daemon
Simon is the best! I hope he is in all future episodes.
yeah, he overheard daemon's convo with brume, but daemon never gave a commited answer, so he sent for her, just in case
Very less people noticed that Helaena actually spoke with Daemon in that vision.
She has something like the power of vision, like the old man in Game of Thrones, she can access the power of the trees from the first humans, when Daemon entered that power, Helena noticed and immediately access Daemon's vision.
@@strikelolz6522 yess.. but very few reactors noticed it.

And when Rhae Rhae was spouting some crap about "a son for a son", have both of them forgotten that the Blacks Alicent's grandson killed? Two particular writers need to be fired. This is so unserious.
@@akhiltrc9708 every character is so unserious. Out here tweaking towards their tragedy.
Let’s not forget Aegon is a rapist, not some innocent little boy.
To be fair, she was gaslit by her father into genuinely believing that herself. She was more terrified than anyone that Rhaenyra would kill her children. Thats why basically everything she's done on her life has been to put Aegon on the throne so her kids dont die. She genuinely believed that.
Yeah great writing, complete character assassination of her and Aemond and underdevelopment of Helaena
Bruh, no one can tell me Jace isn't completely valid in his worries. What is his mother if she's dead and her father's brothers have dragons triple the size of his. He IS nothing now, and it's seen as a necessary sacrifice to everyone else. He going through it.
@@6DCNostrada It is completely valid, but he himself started it all 😆 It was HIS idea to find new dragon riders amongst people that are related but not with the ruling houses. Yes, he was not talking about bastards and commoners, but what would have stopped Ser Steffon from challenging anybody if he could have bonded with Vermithor? It is the second largest dragon, he could have easily challenged Jace and Vermax as well 🤷🏼♀️ So him being angry about it now while coming up with the idea in the first place is very strange.
@@IslandpferdeHaukagilit’s not, you just contradicted yourself he came up with the idea to higher borns not commoners so no, it’s not weird that he brought up the idea and now is angry your taking words out of context and besides he ends up being right abt Ulf and Hugh
@@goaway8289 Thanks for the spoiler my friend 🙄
He should have foreseen though, that if someone like the Knight, with only a great-great grandma that was Targaeryan, would try to claim a dragon, than some bastards could try as well. Especially himself being a bastard and being able to claim one, this should not have been a surprise for him 😉
@@IslandpferdeHaukagil it’s not abt bastards it’s abt low/high borns 🤦♀️🤦♀️ and again he ends up being right abt em🤷♀️
@@goaway8289what kinda dick gets off on spoiling stuff for others. You should try enriching the story for them. Give deeper context, not spoil things. Have you ever read it or just scoured the wiki like 90% of the people who spoil things and pretend they actually read the book.
So this is something they didn't have time to explore in GoT, but the three eyed raven was a Targaryen bastard usually called Bloodraven, very interesting to see him pop up in Daemon's vision. The whispers when Ser Alfred was suggesting that Daemon take the throne was his voice calling Alfred a traitor.
he will be in series Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
@queenxx1690 Yeah I was leaving that part out for people who haven't read the books
If you listen carefully the whispers on the wind say "traitor". They are being observed in that moment by a greenseer, past or future. Much like when bran saw his father at the tower of joy and called out to him. Ned turned because he heard something.
Simon’s drip has been the best thing this season
The premonition of the main show gave me goosebumps, but then I remember how Dany and the night king was portrayed in the final season and it just pours salt in my mouth.
Reminder of season 8 they want us to feel nostalgia but we get reminder that in the end she was useless because it was Arya who killed NK and it is Bran who sit the throne or wheelchair 😂lol
Dude EMMA DARCY was killing it
I love when they give Helaena more screen time 😍👑
Thankfully, they've made her considerably more interesting in the book. At this point in the book, she's gone mad with grief and is essentially on there to provide a tragic death. Having her instead be the Westeros version of Cassandra is a wise move.
I do love everything the show has done with her, but I do wish they still kept in that she loved to ride before the war! imo, it would be even more beautiful if she loves to ride Dreamfyre, but still refuses aemond's commands

Alicent dreams, even if Rhaenyra had accepted her plan, Aemond, Otto and Criston would never have accepted Rhaenyra's reign and a war would still have taken place. Not to mention the fact that Rhaenyra is not unanimous in Westeros.
The whisper they heard in the godswood was “Traitor”.
Dude, seeing the future image of Game of Thrones gave me chills. Corlys calling his ship 'The Queen Who Never Was', Daenerys with her three dragons (DRACAYS!!!) and when Daemon told Rhaenyra "Winter is coming" AHHHH. 20:04 the gods eye is the big lake right in front of harrenhall. Look up a picture of the map of Westeros & you’ll see harrenhall looks like a bullseye. That’s the gods eye
Seeing Daemon alive in the water, indicating that he does survive gods eye.
Criston persona changed after he witnessed the Dragon Battle of Ep.4. He's messed up after that bloodbath, he lived something more terrifying than an regular battle. PS: Great acting performance from Aemond & Alicent
Yes, he's basically been suffering from PTSD since that fight. When you see a flying nuclear dinosaur turn men to ash and you realize both sides in this conflict have that power at their disposal, you can't blame him for thinking, "We're all fucked no matter how this turns out, so what's the point?"
My concern with Corlys is when he said "let our foes beware be it Lannister or Greyjoy", but, he knows/says nothing about Essos. They have a big fleet and I'm not sure if he knows the Lannisters have bought them.
The acting in this series is simply phenomenal! That scene when the bastard son rages at Lord Corey's, there is so much emotion in his voice. Excellent stuff!

I loved the dialogue, the scenery, battles where there were and music. Now the long wait for s3 haha
Now the Blacks fight to save humanity and Alicent betrays her own family for Rhaenyra (who wanted Aemond tortured after he lost an eye, starved a city and her husband killed her grandson) the show is a fanfic, legit horrible writing.

Alicent basically knew one of his sons will/must die for Luke's death and that would be Aemond. A prince for a prince.
Seeing Danerys again and the the Stark's banner game me goosebumps. I'm expecting next season to be full of action.
Jahaerys was the prince. And if you say he wasn't then one of Rheanyra's baby boys with Daemon must die to avenge Jahaery's slaughter.
Aemond has to die because of the simple fact that he will never yield, Aegon has to die because he is "the usurper". The only one of Alicent's children that Rhaenyra can really let live is the youngest, who we haven't seen yet.
Jaeherys was son for as son that was the whole point of it, now she want another head because it was not Alicent son like wtf ,so why Jaehaerys died anyway his death was pointless ?
@@ganymeade275 You are stupid if you believe in that ,Rhae just said she is ready do kill her own brother in public and you say she will spare the youngest silver hair when her bastard is suppose to reign after her ?🤣 they been threat to her her and Daemon since birth it doesn't matter if they took throne or not they would have to kill the boys anyway, so Alicent kids were doomed since birth .
I LOVE how we all view the birth of Daenerys's dragons as sacred. Cause guys when I saw that shot of her in Daemon's vison I was so...is there even a word for it? I can't describe the feeling I had when I saw that😭😭
I just saw a mass murderer getting her nukes.
Same, but Imagine if she had been bald in that shot, like she is in the books!! it would have been SO COOL! especially since she would probably just look like a more gender neutral, Egg shape headed teen at the time!
even GoT s1 dropped the ball there 🤦🏼
I didn't read the book, but I can draw some conclusions from this. No one pointed it out: Daemon had the vision of Aegon the Conqueror. From that vision, we saw that the guy in the tree is the same one Bran saw in GoT. Now, think about what the Song of Ice and Fire is all about, and how we got to Daenerys. Such a great story. Respect R. R. 💯
Additionally, we know that Helena is somehow connected to the Vision. Plus she is a varg because she accurately described Aemond's actions in his last fight. (also: the dragon that flew by the Hightower army was Dreamfyre, her dragon.
@@reallo1753 Helaena is no warg (Warg is person who get in skin of some animal Starks are wargs )she is dragon dreamer and it makes no sense to her to appear in Daemon dream her child killer dream to help him it is stupid and not sensitive
I've always felt for Alicent. She was manipulated her whole life into doing things for other people. Everyone is freaking out that "she started all this" and now she wants to run as soon as it gets tough. Do we not remember that Otto had planned to usurp the throne regardless of Alicent misunderstanding Visyrs? Now that no one is pulling her strings, she doesn't care what happens to her horrible sons. She just wants to take Helena and disappear.
You knew the Corlys, Alyn Showdown was bound to happen, and it didn't disappoint. Very well-acted scene.
Compare his situation to Jon's in the original series. Jon may have been an acknowledged bastard and had to deal with the cold shoulder from Catelyn, but he was raised by Ned in his household and loved by him and all his siblings. Alyn and his brother were not only ignored by Corlys in poverty, but had to watch him shower Laenor and Laena with all the love and luxuries that they could never hope to get. No wonder he's as pissed as he is. It's the understandable resentment of a kid who's father suddenly comes into their life after being absent for so long. "Thanks, Dad, but you don't just get forgiveness for a lifetime of neglect overnight. You have to EARN it."
@@mst3KGf It doesn't make sense, given Corlys' character and the customs of Westeros, that Alyn and Addam grew up hungry and poverty-stricken. (didn't happen in the book). In Westeros, when lords of noble or royal houses have bastard children, they usually at least provide for those children, even if the kids are not born of noble mothers and are not acknowledged, so that they are not raised in poverty. (Robert Baratheon being an exception). And Corlys is a very proud man; given that he knows that he has sired these two bastard sons and that other people know they are his children, I doubt that he would allow them to be raised in poverty and hunger; he would see that they had clothing and shelter and enough food. It would be beneath his dignity and pride to have any of his children starving. It would be true that he would not give them a father's love and did not acknowledge them.
Even Roose Bolton saw to it that his bastard son Ramsay's mother received goods and coin to maintain them both. (leaving out the fact that Roose was ready to kill the woman and baby until he saw the resemblance between himself and the baby and decided not to become a kinslayer).
In the book, Alyn and Addam of Hull grew up in their grandfather's house, there is no mention of poverty or privation; after their grandfather dies, their resourceful mother Marilda sells her father's shipyards and builds up her own small trading fleet which she captains. She's not dead in the book.

The episode was a 6 for me personally. I didn’t like how the daemon plot line ended with him only supporting Rhaenyra because of a vision he saw. I also hated how Alicent betrayed her family so she could run away.
Other than Helena, not a damn person in Allison‘s family stood up for her as a person, so why would she be hell-bent on saving them rather than saving herself her daughter and her granddaughter you can’t be mad at her for that because the men in her family only used her
THE BLUE QUEEN HAS ENTERED THE CHAT 💙🐉
For those upset that this season felt diluted and slow, remember they probably did that cause the source material is quite short and they need to make about 4 seasons I think, so a slow pace generally makes sense.
I agree
I agree. People kept saying “i need more dragon fight and more actions” like all of us wants action too but what is action without a story in it. People kept complaining and I dont get it.
Disagree, I don't understand why folks are making excuses for a UNDERWHELMING SEASON !! I love this show for what it is, but damm let's called it for what it is FILLER. No other show would get away with this type of pacing, but yet we are allowing it with HOTD !?!?!? They skipped two major battles thus far and for what !?!?!? To waste scenes on Allicent & Rheanyra ?? Instead of taking the time to showcase the major players of this war ??
@@CylenxswizinSim in my view The problem is the story!!
The war of The five kings in game of thrones we dont see a single fight in 4 Seasons. But The writing is so great that we even miss the battles.
@@timothypolanco8622I don’t think this season being mainly filler is a bad thing but the only real issue is that they probably could’ve condensed some of these storylines a bit to fit in that skipped stuff. Daemons visions/dreams could’ve been concluded in like 2 to 3 episodes and a few other things probably could’ve been condensed a bit as well. Unfortunately it seems like peoples complaints about the first seasons pacing made them over correct so they really took their time with this season when it really should’ve been the opposite. I mean there were like multiple time skips within like 2 episodes when that’s the season that should’ve been slowly paced to give us time to connect with the characters. Fortunately it’s mainly action going forward so let’s hope for the best 😂
Emma and Olivia acting in the same room 🔥 they're good 👑
Love that you guys appreciated alicent’s arc this season, and the acting between emma and olivia during that scene together will probably win emmy’s i’m convinced!
Alicent really bretrayed her whole family
They butchered her character
All the men in her family, let her down used her, so why would she risk her life her daughters life, and her granddaughter’s life on men who only looked out to use her and then tossed her side. This is the first time I’ve had any respect for her because she’s looking out for her daughter and her granddaughter, and not letting them in and her family were in our life.
@@GingerMT-o4m She is also one of the main responsible for the war by misinterpreting Viserys's last words when everything could have been solved. Responsible for the poor upbringing of her children putting the eldest on a throne he did not want and for which he ended up losing a son and being scorched. And now she is willing to sell her entire family with the exception of her daughter and granddaughter to the enemy and save herself.
And the only man who truly used her for his benefit was her father.
Don't you dare... 😂 They did. We need a whole episode for that battle.
Alicent asking Rhaenyra to go with her, to live out their dream as children to ride dragonback and see the world, sent me over the edge. Their two scenes together this season were pivotal for me and some of the best dialog between characters. Maybe anti-climatic for the season finale, but the writing was amazing. And my favorite observation in Alicent beyond her dialog was the fact that she's no longer wearing green.
Those 2 scenes were the worse scenes in the whole show and completely destroyed alicents character
@@isaacnjemanze8821 And both scenes have no consequences for the plot. Just fan service. Cut the out and nothing changes at all.
Yes the acting is phenomenal, the scenes are still useless though.
I agree. For many viewers, their relationship and their past is what make the show interesting. Did you see the reaction in this video when Alicent showed up at Dragonstone? They are powerful together. It wasn't plan, but it is what it is. The marvelous interpretation of both young actors, add a lot to the screen. Kudos.
@@FromNaboo No. Alicent could disappear and I wouldn't care. There are much better characters and dynamics that suffer, because they wanted to write a friendship into the show that never existed. I liked Alicent in season 1. I can't stand her in season 2.
Imagine a mother who forces her son to take a throne he doesn't want and then betraying him and agreeing to have him beheaded so she can escape. Just so that she doesn't need to take accountability. Aegon in her scapegoat and sge is truly self-setving. She is the worst and needs to go. I'm going to skip all scenes with her.
This is not what people wanted. Especially people who know Fire and Blood.
@@danika9411 I think a lot of people like Alicent. I do. Everybody have different way of thinking. Waiting for Season 3 :)
The Alicent and Rhaenyra scene was another massive time waster. Alicent sells out her entire family after she caused all of this. She still doesnt even know it was Daemon and not Rhaenyra that caused B&C. Their friendship ended two decades ago they both need to grow tf up and move on. Their relationship is like a massive anchor just pulling the show down.
And the conversation is of no consequence anyway, as Aegon already left KL and it seems easy enough for Alicent and Helaena to leave as well. So why wouldn't they just pack and go, why is Alicent travelling to Dragonstone to ask for permission to leave??! Makes no sense.

Please consider reacting to The Last Kingdom. Such an amazing show
This finale was basically just us watching a long trailer for season 3 😂
The god's eye is the name of the lake at the center of the Riverlands. Harrenhal was built on one it's northern shore.
Man, they're really playing chess with this finale with both houses getting ready for the battles to come, but shoutout to Helaena Targaryen, who was the MVP of the season for me! Sadly, we'll have to wait until clearly 2026 since they'll start filming later this year. At least we got another GOT spinoff A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms to keep us company until House of the Dragon S3.
I wonder if the whole blackfire thing will be confused with the blacks and the greens

Oh, that's interesting. That must've been in the book. I don't know if that would be addressed in the show, but it should, tho since it's important.
Alys Rivers was executed in 131 AC for being a witch. But she also married Aemond. She survived the assaults on Harrenhal by Deamon. But they changed that from the books.
I had thought about Alys Rivers what if she lived and died during the time when Balerion and Aegon burned Harrenhal and she still somewhat alive because of the curse. She never leaves Harrenhal that we know of. It's a thought since she was a witch in the books and I wondered if she not really "alive" but alive because of the curse. She knows a lot about this curse and I wonder if she doesn't sleep either because of the curse I believe she not "alive"
Sad thing is it was a good episode just not for a finale and i dont think people recognise that. Just a shame the ep is gonna get so much slander even though it was a good ep. Cant believe we have to wait 2 years for the next part tho 😢

This was neither a good episode or a good finale.
And this scene rhaenyra and alicent was one of the most stupid and unnecessary scenes. They need to change writers because they suck.
I’m really sorry you feel that way but if you do stop watching it because it wasn’t a wasted seen nor was it a bad scene. Every man in that family used and abused Allisent Helena and the granddaughter, so why would Helena and her granddaughter not be the only focus of Allisent and giving them to safety That was her taking her first step toward being a good mother, which is something she struggled with. And it was a good finale. It set us up for the biggest battle in the entire storyline to begin our season and then all the aftermath is going to fill out the rest of the season so if you don’t like it, stop watching it and go get the book but the writers are amazing.
Saw it was a longer EP & thought oh man, we are in for a good one.. halfway thru I thought ain't no way they did us like this.. glorified 70 minute trailer for a season 2+ years away.
Obviously, then, you don’t appreciate character building and story building, because I think this last episode set us up perfectly for the biggest battle that takes place during the entire story and I imagine that the rest of season three is going to be the aftermath of that battle, so sit back, relax and don’t worry about it It’s not a bad thing to build a story and build character.
I think this episode was amazing... but we didn't get that epic "episode 9" so this one feels a bit weird. Great Reaction as usual guys. Can't wait for next season!
My boy Larys out here trying to convince Aegon to join him on an Ibiza holiday while the company goes under 😭 Alright jokes aside Im honestly really upset that this is the finale we get before waiting 2 years. We ended S1 with everyone preparing for war. How are we ending S2 with everyone still preparing for war? And I don’t wanna hear any of that “character development” bullshit that you people here have been using to justify the slow pace for WEEKS. Like Daemon and Rhaenyra’s storylines this season weren’t utterly repetitive and dull (“wHaT woULd yOu hAvE me dO “) Alicent’s dumbass selling out her entire family who have no idea and are marching to their deaths and Heleana spoiling the entire show. I don't even know how Otto end up in a cell man!! You cannot convince me all this couldn’t have been the first half of a 10 episode season.
HBO fumble up big time. To the writers of this show, you suck.
Called it last episode, this is a transitional season. We were hoping for a stronger finale but it looks like we’ll be getting a strong season 3 all together.
@@OfficialMediaKnights i'm with you guys! Oh btw during the 2 year long wait is it possible that you will take your time and watch "A knight of the tge seven kingdoms"? It's another spin-off about the targaryen dynasty as well and follow the tale about dunk and egg (aegon iv. - brother of master aemon) the books are one of my favorites GRRM works!
@@OfficialMediaKnightsit could have been a stronger season but for whatever dumb reason hbo cut down the number of episodes for this season down to 8 from 10. and there was the writers strike so they couldn’t rewrite scripts to be more satisfying for 8 episodes.
The gods eye is a very large lake , beside harremhall
Happy season finale video. The slow burn storytelling is done so well, I wanted to scream No! at the end of the episode
Gah that cliffhanger destroyed us, whyyyy?!?
@@OfficialMediaKnights Exactly! Shot after shot of people in motion then Black Screen ☹
Your reactions are so well done, I will be here enjoying old and new videos as long as you post!
✌❤
Peace&Love
I did scream!
Helaena breaks a fourth wall.
- It's a story and you are a fictional character, Daemon.
- Tf?
Bae literally speaks to him from the next scene and casually spoils Aemond's death in the 3th season.
Her child's murderer. And it shows she actually does see the future clearly and doesn't do anything about it. She let B&C happen. Imagine if Daenys Targaryen did that.
@@williamwallace2638 Did Daenys see the Targaryens die in the doom or did she see the Valyria itself fall? Cause then that wouldn't be her going against her vision.
But then again, Viserys dreamt of Aegon wearing the conquerers crown and sitting the throne while the dragons roared as one but still had the ability to put Rheanyra on the throne instead of Aegon so.
she wasn't telling him that he's a Fictional character in a TV show, she meant that he, (like all of us), is just a small part in the larger History that everyone lives through. as a dragonlord Prince and King Consort, his part in the story is larger than most's, but that doesn't mean that he's still the Main Character that he always thought himself to be.
Why is nobody missing Rhaena? Did they just go on without her and didn't care or have they not looked behind themselves yet and think she is still there 😆😆
That's exactly what I'm thinking
The show is written like ass. What do you expect.
I’m Just starting out reacting, how do you guys get past copyright so quickly ?
Can you do pirates of the Caribbean 4 next? Love your videos!! ❤
man writers really hate the show don't they otherwise why would they destroy so many characters this early.
alicent is genuenly my fav charahcter ever (on tv)
FUN FACT: House Baratheon founder was from Old Valyrian and was the (Possible) Bastard Brother to Aegon I Targaryen (The Conqueror)
"Desire for women has brought me grief after grief."
I mean, I can relate.
This felt like they only had enough material for 4 episodes but stretched it to 8.
Seriously. Terrible show.
Emma and Olivia are great but I’m sorry that last scene… total bullshit
As a ride and die Dany fan I got so much emotional during Daemon's weirwood vision. Dany and her dragons 😭 i screamed lol
I could have done with less time with the Lannister dude wrestling pirates and more time with key characters
Otto was right all along. Either Allicent prepared Aegon to rule or Rhaenyra would need to kill her children.
Alicent : Horrible mother - breaks my heart but she’s a horrible mother.
Thank God when they showed who was on the throne in Daemon's vision it wasn't Bran. 🤣
Show Rahenyra: sucks to ☠ innocent people, to win 😢
Also Show Rahenyra: sparing the life, of my crippled Half brother, who has no Son, beacause my husband existentially ☠him and who can no longer father childern,
..If he bends the knee, be a hostage and i win the war without bloodshed?
NO WAY! Need his head🤨
Well...I didn't expect it to end just at the edge of a climax, not a great finale, but a good episode. I love the montage at the end and the shots they took. And the score, oh the score, how it switched between houses's themes as thw banners changed. Chef's kiss to Ramin Djawadi as always!
On another note, Max dropped teasers for upcoming series today and we got to see a tease for TLoU 2 and A knight of the Seven Kingdoms!
Helaena Targaryen, the queen of spoilers 😭
Daemon just binge watched GOT in 5 minutes 😂
I'm sorry to comment on something that isn't about the series but I love Marianne (2019) it's a French series and it's terrifying, I think you'd like it! 👻
From the moment Daemon engaged with Alice Rivers and she gave him that drink and he started hallucinating all these things that basically were the ghosts of his guilt for how selfishly he handled things, I knew immediately these haunted Harrenhal shithole is gonna CLEANSE him (Alice specifically) and he's gonna return to Rhaenyra a new man. Specifically the moment his brother's ghost appeared to him and explained that a crown is not a trophy but a burden and a responsibility and "do you still want it?" I knew he didn't want it anymore. He understood. I still don't know why Alice was so eager to help him see clearly. Is it because she can really tell the future and that its not about little men and their plot but about the dead coming? Maybe she sees the bigger picture and the part Daemon is gonna play in all of this and her intentions are true. Mysaria on the other hand, who's counseling Rhaenyra and also seduced her like she knows really well how to do it being her job for so long, I don't trust her a bit.
Didn't know Green men (17:26, sacred order entrusted with the guardianship of the Isle of Faces ) are at Harrenhall. You missed Daeron on Tessarion (30:13)
If in s3 they don't have Rhaenyra attacking KL, but instead Alicent just opening the doors for her, I am going to stop watching. Rhaenyra being so whitewashed is truly annoying.
Also, how could they make the same mistake twice and have Aicent and Rhaenyra meet AGAIN?
(Correct me if I am wrong and everything happens like that in the books...)
Rhaenyra and alicent were never friends in the books, they hated each other, so these “secret meetings” never happened
@@onebyonebby Yeah. I can't stand Alicent in season 2. I'm going to skip her scenes in season 3. I'm done.
@@danika9411 can relate, whatever they've done to alicent as a character is so confusing... hearing the rains of castamere towards the end was more emotional for me than her scene with rhaenyra. I stopped treating them as friends after the time skip in s1, so all of the stuff happening in s2 was ridiculous
Well the big bargaining chip, Aegon, isn't there. So Alicent is going to return home and only to find out that Aegon is gone and the only thing stopping Rhaenyra from having her, Helaena and Jaeheara killed is gone with him. So I don't think she will open the gates now but try and make a stand which is when the gold cloaks betray them
Episode 6 and 7 Alicent in season 1 was the most accurate Alicent we had so far. They ruined her in this season.
You guys need to watch Centurion from 2010, great movie that both of you would enjoy
I understand Alicents impulse to run from it all but it shows her true selfish nature. The moment she lost her full grasp on power she decided she was done with it. And she was willing to sacrifice her own son in order to cower elsewhere and bury her head in the sand.
I liked her in season 1. I can't stand her now. Aegon never wanted to rule. He tried to run away from it. SHE put him there and now she agrees to him being beheaded for something she did. He is her scapegoat. Alicent is truly self-centered.
I am team black 100% however I’m going to send up for Allison in this comment because every man in her family used her and tossed her side when she was no longer useful other than visarys so why in gods name should she risk her life, her daughters life, and her granddaughter’s life. I honestly think her trying to get the two of them out of there plus her self is the most responsible thing she’s done since the very beginning of the show. I would say she’s a horrible mother but at this point trying to save her daughter, who’s artistic and sweet as hell and her granddaughter who’s innocent as hell is her biggest responsibility and to hell with the men that just used her.
great episode! and great commentary from the best reactionists on RUclips Denise especially has great insight and thoughts and expression you guys are the best!!!!!!
When Mom and Dad got back together after being separated
Not HOTD related but please react to Tombstone one day! I think you guys would love and appreciate it just as so many do.
I love Aegon II more than Rhaenyra after this season. He didn't deserve this, or his mother throwing him under the bus after she pushed him to challenge Rhaenyra in the first place.
The whole Triarchy plot was soo useless. If it had happened last episode - okay. But in a finale?! Nope!
I like how Helena’s power is revealed for the first time to family in this episode, to both Daemon and Aemond.
The two biggest bad asses have no power compared to her.
she herself has no power. Because what has she done with her so called power apart from be able to be ineffective in preventing her child's murder?
@@rexibhazoboa7097
🧐 I spoke incorrectly. She has much foresight but little power to affect events. We see her influencing Daemon here, perhaps steering him; whereas with Aemond, it seems more like inevitability.
But you are correct. The two greatest powers are operating in ignorance, while she knows fate will take her boy and likely benefit her girl.
Both scenes don't make sense. Helaena guiding her child's murderer and spoiling her brother's death right on his face.
@@vavictus If its set in stone, why does she have to influence anything?
@@rexibhazoboa7097 now we’re arguing whether the world is strictly determined. And maybe it is maybe it isn’t.
And is the HoT world strictly determined? Maybe it is and maybe it isn’t. Why bother speaking to Daemon at all? Boredom?
Because she was powerless and could not do otherwise due to her strictly determined programming?
What a boring universe that is 🤣 and what a boring story. One with no meaning, because nothing can make any difference at all.
I noticed Aegon and Rhaenyra have very different way in silencing the people
Aegon usually jokes and laughs so no one takes his serious but when he get serious you know you need to shut up immediately his look is enough
meanwhile Rhaenyra always is serious and she talks a lot so when she still talks people question her and what she did she needs to scream and last time she slapped guy because he did not listen to her
What i really like and think HotD did differently than GoT is, HotD is a tragedy. Tragic things happened in GoT but it was a game (hehe) being played for power. HotD is such a tragedy because there could have been a happy ending. Everyone at play here could have resolved this peacefully. Otto may have been a player but his point of view was not unjustified. However, if he had put his considerable skill and talent to making sure Rhaenyra was accepted by the kingdom I have little doubt she would have been queen with little to no issue. He simply chose to believe that no one would accept a non traditionalruler. Combined with how long and how much viserys went on and on about a male heir and the perception of naming rhaenyra heir as a way to keep daemon off the throne… I understand why he did what he did.
Even so, without the spurning of his mother and grandfather, aegon would have never thought to challenge the throne. Again though, Otto understood history and how things go with successions… I do believe rhaenyra would have spared them though because she was non traditional.
You can see the happy ending that could have been, so clearly that it makes the events of the show truly a tragedy. It’s not like GoT where everyone and their mother wants their ass on the throne. A Targaryen is who will rule and the real power plays are about finding a position under the side that wins and making sure that side does win.
It’s great that the show does such a good job at feeling like the same world but not the same story again.
i can understand why people may feel disappointed with this episode but i thought it was really good!
tho i do think hbo kinda shot themselves in the foot only giving them 8 eps
I just don't like all the constant reminders of season 8 with those visions we saw.
Enjoy your reactions guys. Since you do watch series, may I recommend "Midnight Mass", I think you would enjoy it. Cheers!
