If someone had believed in me the way bruce believes in his son my life would've gone a whole other way. It's really lovely and important.
Same here. My dad was always there for me physically and financially, but the only way he knew how to communicate was through anger with yelling and put downs. If I was a jerk, I would be jealous. Fortunately, I'm not, and it's really touching when Bruce selflessly gives his son the credit he deserves.
that goes for us all. i believe in you for what it's worth.
@@mealsome1571 me too!!
So now you know what to do for your sons/protégé. I got lucky with my dad I'm trying to be like him for my son good luck to us both
Same 💔
Lemme jus tell ya, us addicts are EVERYWHERE. We’re your nurses, your managers, your stay at home mothers, your bank tellers, your COUNCILMEN. Addiction doesn’t care about your status in the world. Thank god I have been sober going on 6 years, but there is no FACE for addiction. It can take anyone. I pray this man gets his life together.
This is 10000% true 👍 but still doesn’t give people the right to down someone because of what they do 🤦♂️
Exactly. And he said they dont think rational Thats absolutely right. When i was stealing my mothers belongings for cash and stealing money from my brother, it was more important for me to be okay for one night than my entire family relationship. Now as a sober man, I can’t believe how intensely addiction affects your brain.
Preach! They think we are all pan handling dirty dingy people but there’s a lot of us who are functioning or high functioning addicts with ability to fund our addiction. But we usually have some unresolved trauma or rationalize are usage by saying things like “people drink all the time, why can’t I do drugs as long as I’m responsible” which can be true but usually we are killing ourselves or hurting loved ones.
You said it perfectly
i’m so proud of you. i wish my parents could say the same !!
I am a nurse. I also was a heroin addict for 7yrs. High functioning, clean house, owned that home, and I’m a mother. I have a drug charge. I was also able to get clean for 10 yrs now, keep my nursing license and rebuild my whole life. Addiction is a beast not to be fucked with. Thank you for this video ❤
I am so happy for you. That took a lot to rebuild but, you did it! Thank you for sharing and I am thankful you are here.
@@shelleybartlett1479 thank you so much ☺️
I’m an RN with 36 years sober. I helped addicts and alcoholics with multiple co-morbid illnesses and mental health disorders. Clean addicts are good at helping other addicts, also, especially in health care situation, addiction in nursing is much more prevalent than people realize.
I LOVE IT , WHEN A FATHER LETS HIS SON KNOW HOW MUCH HE LOVES & RESPECTS HIS WORK !
“Bryce Michael! My son! I should’ve told you how valuable you are!”
-Meatcanyon, ‘Death of NPC Simp’
My dad was also an unassuming addict. He was a home owning, tax paying, veteran with steady employment who also had a cocaine addiction. He died 3 years ago when he unknowingly did coke laced with fentanyl. Im sure this guy felt like his life was over but I promise him his family would rather see him in jail than in the morgue.
Also, you made me cry tears of relief when you said that the death is a peaceful death. I've never wanted to look that up because I was afraid if the answer. I've spent 3 years wondering if my dad was scared and struggling in those last moments and realized the horrible mistake that had happened. I trust in your experience you are correct and will hold on to that because it truly healed my soul just a little.
Desi, can confirm what Bruce said: it is a peaceful death. Probably the most peaceful. I hope it doesn't hurt, but your Dad was there one minute and gone the next. I'm sorry you lost him, but no, he didn't suffer.
I know how you feel and how hard it is not knowing if a loved one went peacefully or not and I've been frequently preoccupied by those same thoughts when my dad's body was found in a dam on my birthday. We didn't even know he was missing because we thought it was at rehab and unfortunately there are mysterious circumstances and the case is still open but we have no idea exactly what day he died since he was last seen on surveillance camera from a gas station buying food to bring with him for rehab and since that was almost 11pm we don't know what day he actually died on because it could've been before or even after midnight. All we know was his body floated fully clothed down the river for a week before he was found in fishway gates at the dam and his cause of death was drowning. It's haunting not knowing if he was lucky enough to go peacefully or fighting for his life while drowning 😢 we have 2days that I mourn his possible death date, then grieve the entire week he was in the water and grieve again on my birthday for the day he was found. The year I was born my birthday happened to fall on father's day which happens every so often years and it's the same way this year. I truly wish you the best in life as you continue on and my thoughts and prayers are with you and we don't know each other but if you need someone to talk with just reply and let me know and I'll give you my email or something. Take care
@@TheFearsomeCrabcat I’m so very sorry that you lost your father this way.
We never “get over” it, we just learn how to deal with it, to tamp it down.
I think of it as a stiletto embedded next to my heart. After all these years, it just rests there silently, until periodically it suddenly twists and turns, and I have to be alone and cry, as I was conditioned since childhood to not cry in front of other people.
I am so sorry for your loss. Addiction becomes a disease and everyone deserves much more help and support to get out of it. 😢
@@jujubean54ify thank you very much and I agree with everything you said especially what you said about never getting over it. I was taught that I shouldn't cry in front of people as well and also when I have experienced great loss such as my dad or another 9 close relatives in a 15&1/2month span of time 4 of whom had cancer and I helped care for them, I've been told by people that time heals all wounds and that I should get over it and it'll get better. When I know someone who has just experienced a loss and reach out sometimes I tell them about it and I tell them that I wish I could tell them honestly that it'll get better and that time heals all wounds but I refuse to lie to them as some have lied to me and so far I have been thanked for my brutal honesty and am usually the first person they contact when they need to talk or cry or scream and don so they don't always feel alone because it truly never goes away. I don't think it ever could. The way you described it is so accurate and well-written by the way, good job! I get the impression that you have experienced great loss as well and as I offered to the other person as well, if you ever need to talk or vent I'm here for you also. My thoughts and prayers are with you as well. Take care
This same exact thing happened to me. I pulled up to a gas station after being up all night smoking crack, fell asleep, and woke up to officers prying my door open thinking I had overdosed. They searched me and found a crack pipe on me (that i forgot was on me and it cut the officers finger) he was angry but was immediately sympathetic when he realized how messed up I was. They didn't charge me thankfully. They sent me to the hospital. I've been clean 8 months now with the help of a spiritual program. This video reminded me of myself. I hope the guy can get his life back on track. I have met some of the greatest people I know in recovery. Us addicts are not bad people. We need help and guidance. I now help other addicts and alcoholics get their lives back together the same way someone showed me how. It's a beautiful way to live man. I am so grateful for the life I have now. I wouldn't take all the pain and suffering I went thru back for anything in the world's because it shaped who I am today.
Bless you keep going my friend.
Good for you Adam. Keep up the self discipline
I’m glad for you but it’s sad that there’s a state that has that had someone who is passing crafting and following budgets in city’s while also being high in crack. Like I have a drug test for my job and I don’t have that power so I’m just astonished.
Good for you, Adam. God is a wonderful thing for the people who welcome him in. Keep up the good work and helping others.
I just don’t understand how people with a job and a life, takes the choice of doing drugs. It is not like you don’t know what happens if you do. So please let me understand.

I have no problem with giving anyone a second chance at employment and understand that nobody asks to relapse, but when someone is working as a councilman, they should be higher standard. They are letting everyone down.
Welcome to america bud
Ever think that higher standard leads to this kind of behavior?
Not to defend him but we don't know the situation of his divorce... if he was a previous addict and his kids are taken away i can see how he went back. I hope he gets help and never touches this shit again. I used to love my new years parties, but with fentanyl now being a thing. NOPE! you can't even trust cocaine.
@@syko2164 No one is saying not to have empathy for his situation, just that he probably shouldn't be a councilman right now.
This comment is absurd. Higher standard? The law should apply equally to ALL people. The moment you have different standards thats when you are completely wrong.
Addiction is such a heartbreaking business. Prayers for all who struggle as well as their support people
It’s nice to see how positive and supportive you are of your son. It’s sad to see the councilman’s drug habit ruin his life. Addiction isn’t uncommon or an indictment of someone’s character. Its a sad way to live.
I just want to say this, to anyone who might go through a relapse: DO NOT try to do as much as you used to do, ESPECIALLY something like heroin, crack, coke, anything of a dangerous nature like this. Probably the most common form of OD is when someone relapses after not taking it for a long time, and trying to do the amount they no longer have a tolerance for.
Obviously, I don't encourage someone relapsing into stuff like this, you should stay sober, but if this advice helps save a life, I'll be happy.
I agree thanks for the comment !!
I commented above about my childhood best friend getting outta rehab & dying from an OD that same day. He was dead before he even got the tourniquet & needle out of his arm. Absolutely devastating.
You are 💯 correct!! I lost many friends who have made that common mistake. Your tolerance level to those drugs has greatly diminished and your body can NOT handle that same amount anymore. 🧡
@@paulbob234 It's especially sad to me that people will die like this. It takes strength to quit, and sometimes people falter. They could have been clean for 10 years, but one night of relapse, and they're immortalized as a junkie forever. Nobody ever thinks about the strength they had to have to get clean and get their act together, they just think about that one night their strength faltered. It's not right.
Thank you for sharing ❤ harm reduction is SO important. It doesn't mean we're encouraging people to use, we are just telling them to be as safe as possible when they use. Because the unfortunate reality is that people will use either way. But harm reduction saves lives. Telling people how to use safely saves lives. So don't ever feel like you're encouraging drug use by informing people of how to be safe.
I wish cops had this much compassion for EVERYONE!!
Unfortunately, for them compassion is proportional to perceived importance in society. Sickening

My brother died from crack cocaine that had fentanyl in it. He fell asleep and then stop breathing. I’m so glad this guy got help. It’s not worth losing your life over a high.
In June of this year he was arrested again for child molestation. This dude is a total piece of shit and deserves no one's sympathy.
My cousin died in June from Meth that had Fentanyl in it
@@noraashalo6282 I’m sorry for your loss. My brother died in June 3 years ago 4 days after my birthday. That fentanyl is some really really bad and it’s killing a lot of people
I’m so sorry x
Or more likely they set out to speed ball..crack and meth dealers DONT GET REPEAT biz if they.put drugs together that cancel each other out in ways. It's way more common for people to speed ball than for dealers to cut uppers with downers..because most their customers don't want to be sedated and repeat biz is the ONLY way to deal drugs. It's very common however for users to use street Rx pills to come down from the speed/coke/crack and most pills on the street are just fake fent knock offs now. So I feel your pain, but I think you misinterpreted events due to drug users not being that open about how and what they use.
I have an extensive history with first being an addict and now spreading awareness of the dangers of drugs now. It's dangerous to spread misinformation because you wouldn't believe how many addicts think pills are safe and the fent is in powder drugs. Heroin is what they cut with fent..
This is why it is great to have body cams because you know he would be denying it and accusing the officer of lying.
He would’ve been let go is what would’ve happened.
@@DavidDavis311 exactly. Cops live their GOP masters. Who else is going to give them overtime and give them bonuses
Or the officer simply letting him off with a warning.

The way you honor your son is priceless. I'm estranged from my father. He abused me emotionally as an adult and physically as a child. I would give anything for a relationship like you have with your son
Maybe someday you'll have a son and you can have that kind of relationship with him. It's not the same as having the father you deserved, but being that farther for someone would be gratifying and healing in its own way

Gotta say Bruce Rivers, your comments on, " sometimes it just gets ahold of people and won't let go," and," it takes your money, your freedom, and your health," along with," if it weren't for drugs I wouldn't have a job," are some of the best, honest, to the point comments ever stated by a person with more experience dealing with addicts than a counselor or a cop. Appreciate your perspective. Very bipartisan view, which is why I like your channel.

Mr. Rivers, it’s a wonderful thing that relationship you have with your content genius. It’s fabulous to witness the good work between you two.
This police officer is a great example for all officers. He is empathetic, truthful, but firm.
White Privaledge is a thing‼️
mainly because the defendant is white
What do you do though when the crack pipe came from Joe Biden and the White House
Of course the officer was "empathetic, truthful, but firm", he has to arrest a white councilman with powerful republicans behind him. The officer could be fired for this, and he knows this. As the lawyer said, if this was any other person, the guy would have been in handcuffs immediately.
If the guy was black or Hispanic, he’s already be in handcuffs and getting his car searched.
As a person who has been clean from hard drugs myself for almost 7 yrs, I think that he should be sent to rehab, but barred from serving in public office ever again. I understand better than anyone the struggles of addiction, but there needs to be a higher standard for our elected officials.
I'm just extremely thankful that I got out of the dope game before everything started getting laced with Fentanyl.
Also, BRUCE I implore you to research the truth about cops and getting exposed to "fentanyl" in the field. It is NOT possible to absorb Fentanyl through skin contact just from touching the powder. The cops perpetuate that narrative in order to create sympathy or fear or whatever, and all the videos you see online are really just uninformed/uneducated officers suffering from panick attacks. Psychosematic symptoms can create just as real a reaction as actual chemicals. It's pretty extraordinary actually. Cops have plenty of risks that they deal with, but on the spot exposure to Fentanyl is complete nonsense. Just trying to get the truth out there.
Hopefully he did go to rehab after jail, maybe even as a part of his sentencing. Sober 8+ years now and that’s what it took for me (flipping my car while DUI, not smoking crack, but same dog, different leg..) just wish him the best. Props to the Major that gave him the stern talk he needed and I just hope he listened!
Came here to say this.
I believed police when they said they could overdose from touching it. Then someone told me that wasnt true and I looked it up and yep. Not true.
Then explain how fentanyl patches work.
Thank you,I was going to say the exact same thing, why to police create such fear by saying this things. You are correct 💯 fentanyl cannot be absorbed through the skin.
Idk why but when he said "by the courthouse probably not a good idea to do some crack" i smiled. The. Thr "just probably not" i fuckin died. Bruce you the funniest lawyer on here😂😂
The amount of love bruce has for his son is incredible. So heart-warming ❤
I always love how you talk about your son it's so refreshing to hear a father that is unashamed to share how proud they are of their child it makes me happy
I've been in that situation so many times. Passed out in my car with a needle in my arm and drugs all over my lap. It sucks being in stuck in thay kind of lifestyle. Luckily for me I'm coming up on one and a half years clean next month, and have no desire to return to using. I've found that what has helped me the most to stay clean is putting all the money that would have gone to drugs into an investment portfolio and keep track of all the money on paper. It helps with redirecting all the mental energy I used to put into figuring out how to get high, plus it really puts into perspective all the money I would have wasted on getting my fix everyday. In just 1.5 years I've put away almost 20k. It's insane.
Major kudos to you. Getting clean is one thing, but staying clean might be even harder. Great idea about the money!
Congrats on your sobriety!
Congratulations and keep up the good work. Don't forget your lowest moments and darkest days! We need those as a reminder of where we came from. Keep working everyday, our fight is never over.
I’m proud of you
Almost my exact story, down to the dollar amount. Proud of you
I was arrested for DUI and after getting booked, as the officer was leaving the jail, I thanked him. I have been sober 36 years...from that day to this.
One of the most important things to do is *NEVER* get complacent. Go to the meetings available for your either alcoholism or other addiction...go to the ones that cater to your problem, take suggestions about how to get and keep your life on track. Help others who need help.
It's so nice to hear the way Bruce speaks about his son, Michael. The world needs more parents that truly root for & uplift their children.

Sadly this is American not Germany.. 😂 prison system here in America is literally a fking cooperate interpreter.. it makes insane money locking ppl up.. not only that unlike Germany.. America has a bail bonds system that literally exist to target ppl who get out an catch them slip to throw them back in… after most ppl aren’t aware that inmates make good cheap to free labor producing a woooping 11billion dollars worth of goods and services in 2022 I believe all for Pennys or “reduced time” on “good behavior”. massive turn over of like 74bil since war of drugs started.. 😂 and it’s US THE TAX PAYERS footing the bill… fyi Walmart McDonald’s and 100s of companies btw exploit this .. 💀 American prison system is objectively the most evil shit in the western world… it even outperforms trash dictatorships of the world as it’s literally better at exploiting ppl then them.. 😂 MONEY… most ppl in jail and prisons aren’t even violent offenders… that insane.. not only that all inmates regardless of violent or non violent crimes.. are forced into raw survival mode as prisons btw literally EGREGIOUSLY violate most constitutional rights still afforded to humans as inmates.. and you the public (not you personally) are brainwashed with this view of retribution/revenge so it’s ignored and ok to most ppl… as they say “how a ppl treats their inmates is reflective of how they treat each other” so blacks.. women.. gays.. homeless.. poor.. mental ill.. handicapped.. veterans.. addicts.. even pedos who aren’t sex offenders get treated like criminals.. btw that’s why most ppl with clinical pedofilia don’t seek help cause if how you the ppl will treat them.. so they don’t get help and eventually they ACT.. they coulda got help and this high chance it would have never happened but it’s enabled by society demonizing views … u get the point 😂.. btw I emphasize on pedos because it’s the best example of how ppl will outright cherry-pick and close their ears to basic logic and rational thinking in favor of emotional ideological beliefs… as with all the groups I listed… Americans are nothing more the resources for their own prisons systems… im not Republican nor democratic.. I hate all parties… why does no part ever fking address out prisons system??!! It’s fking EVIL.. im athiest and don’t believe in “good” or “evil” persay so i don’t use that word lightly… this shits EVIL 😂😂
I think it was fear as much as respect because city council usually funds the police. I'm not saying all police are bad but it's another point of view
they don’t deserve to be mocked and laughed at either by this lame lawyer. Addiction stems from trauma it’s literally just an attempt to stop suffering.
My god, thank you for telling it like it is. People are so comfortable laughing/judging crackheads on the streets, but dump sympathy on those wearing ties. The treatment should not differ, and the fact that it does is very telling.

Yes, the best way for people to be responsibly informed on a matter is by being conditioned with hyperbolic exaggerations and misinformation to create a paranoid fear leading to avoidance. Sounds very healthy.

The way that you talk about your son always makes me smile so sweet I’m so thankful for this channel!. You guys make an awesome team.🎉🎉🎉
I really feel for this guy. Because when I got a felony drug charge I basically lost everything. Got fired, was evicted. It’s real easy to fall into despair working a fast food job because no other place will take you, while you sleep on your moms couch because no place will rent to you. Then we wonder why so many people die of drug overdoses in the US. Because when you take everything away from someone and they have a substance abuse problem. Should he be required to get help, yes. Should he lose everything and potentially go to prison for committing a crime that almost entirely harms himself?, no absolutely not, end the war on drugs so people who want help can try to get help
Except he is a councilman whose actions affect a lot of people. Plus, he was in a car, if he decided to drive while on drugs, that puts everyone on the road at risk
This guy was arrested a month later for molesting a 12 years old girl. A bad person all around

Positive masculinity. Spread it around!
I feel sorry for all the less influential people who didn't get to go to rehab and be treated with such apologetic sympathy, and respect.
The same fear that cops are spreading about fentanyl killing people through skin contact is the same type of nonsense they used to spread fear of marijuana. If it were true, there would be millions dead from manufacture, delivery and everyone using. There would be no one left to make it, sell it, or use it.
Cops wouldn't lie though ... I mean, they took an oath 🙃
Drug diversion programs are extremely common regardless of the defendant.
Whether illegal drugs are dangerous in themselves as well as injected, smoked or injected I have no need to know. So you’d rather these guys take a chance?
Fentanyl absolutely can kill through skin contact. In fact, a frequent way it's administered is through transdermal skin patches. And given just how little it takes to OD - it's measure in millionths of a gram - it's no surprise that a small amount is all it takes. Tens of thousands are dying of it every year.
The "Reefer Madness" days ended are a long time ago. Before you were born methinks.
yeah this seems so heartwarming cause the cops are being nice but unfortunately its just an example of what can be wrong with cops. They should treat everyone with respect and compassion
@@HanTheProphet EXACTLY!!! if this guy had been wearing a white wife beater t shirt, athletic shorts and had some tattoos, these cops would have pulled him out of the car, yanking him awake and throwing him onto the ground to get him in cuffs asap.
Last night someone very close to me contacted me asking if I would hang on to something that has great personal value to her while she is in rehab for her heroin addiction. This video hit me hard as I am hoping and praying that she follows through with treatment and can get her life back. This officer had a terrific balance of compassion while still holding this guy accountable. I hope that other officers watching see this and apply it to what they do when coming across a similar situation. I also wish that anyone seeing this video that has an addiction problem will seek help.
It warmed the hell out of my heart to hear you praising your son!!!!
Man you're a down to earth guy. Absolutely right about compassion being what solves these issues.
Mr. Rivers you always get it sooooo right. You cut right through the BS to tell it like it really is. Talent, intellect and insight are the hallmark of your reactions. Thank you.
That was the sweetest intro ever. He loves his son and sounds SO proud. I love it so much ❤
i love your eSign improv stories
Bruce is such a good dad, always propping his son. You can tell hes a proud papa, it always makes me smile. Props to Michael for doing such an awesome job. Always love catching your videos. ❤
Im going to be 10 years sober this year and this is such a fear of mine. Ive worked hard to create an amazing life, went to college, got engaged, etc. I keep a lot of good strong ties to keep me grounded but you just never know.
Congratulations on 10 years sober🎉
Best dad vibes- and it sounds like you raised a very talented and educated son with whom you share a wonderful bond with. I love seeing family teams.
You're one hell of a Dad Bruce! I think anyone would love having you as a dad. Love the vids. You're one of the channels I watch more then any other.
just wanted to say I love how much credit you give your son for being the creative genius of your channel, Bruce! it’s refreshing to see a loving father in a young man’s life, love your content 😊 now onto the video haha
Thanks for saying exactly what I was thinking. He has the complexion for the protection. So many black people were incarcerated for decades during the crack epidemic in the 90s. Now that meth and crack addiction has spread to the dominant society, it's a "health crisis". It's not criminalized as much as it was. People like you who speak on this truth are very much appreciated.
i have a long memory and my grudges are forever
The crack epidemic was in the ‘80s
The guy with the "complexion for the protection" also didn't give the cops a rash of shit, so there's that.
@@ZiaSunshine What!!! That’s exactly what he did. He lied and covered up from the start - claimed sleep apnea & lies about drugs in his car. He also tried to use being a councilman to get out of arrest. HE’S white - so everything is right.
If black…
1st the call to 911 would have been inaccurate- like “I think he’s trying to steal a car” -2nd the officers (plural) would have walked up to the guy yelling aggressively & guns drawn - 3rd the black man most certainly would have been detained, arrested, injured, violated…
Lots of compassion for the poor white man.
No, it's called councilman protection.
I'm surprised Bruce didn't mention that this guy is also a lawyer and the special problems that creates for him. Reilly focuses on family law, and he had been in court earlier that day. The R.I. Supreme Court has now suspended his law license and assigned an other attorney to handle his cases. He's also resigned as councilman.
It's RI. He will be slid back into some cushy job once it blows over. Rhode Island politics are as corrupt as you can get.
Good, he's finally facing some accountability for all the pain and misery that he's causing for all the people around him. Most people on this thread think that enabling him is the answer. No, that's what will kill him.
@@Skank_and_Gutterboy Yeah, let's just treat every disease like that

It's not like he went out and caught a cold. He made a conscious decision to hit the pipe. I've got enough of these people in my extended family and I've witnessed the pain and misery that they cause. Don't be telling me about what good people they are.
@Mek you can't really explain it to people like this. You have to wait until it hits home. I have been clean for 5 years, thankfully not everyone thinks like this guy. Obviously his thinking is flawed, it hasn't ever worked, but he cannot be convinced.
Bruce, you are freaking hilarious.. your sarcastic wit always gives me a good laugh... there's something about an official suit and tie guy that's incredibly funny when they're pointing out and stating the obvious.. this channel is gold my friend!!!
@Michealhrivers is killin it with this awesome content
Love the shoutout to your son, Bruce!
That's very sweet of you and Michael: thank you for all your hard work!
Your videos are entertaining, informative, and easy to watch.
BRUCE: "Well, at least he's got his seat belt on." 😆 😅
Thank you Bruce .
Subbed & Liked! Enjoyed the video! Good work & God bless in ‘24!
Bruce did any of your clients ever get treated this gently by the cops ?
The most blatant example of unequal law enforcement I've ever seen
he was treated this good not because he's white but he worked for the city

100%…. My cousins sold drugs and the customers you would not believe. Addiction does not discriminate. Go to your local methadone clinic… from homeless to teachers, medical professionals, to lawyers in their SUITS going into the office! Just another day!
Great job Michael
part of why i watch these videos is how much Bruce loves Michael. Rock on Rivers men.
My mother has been a respiratory therapist since well before I was born, so I grew up being used to her coming home from a shift in near tears, asking for a hug because a child out there was now without a mom or dad, or how someone not much older than me wasn't going to get to grow up now. Once I got old enough, she started telling me about how they died specifically, and how much they must've suffered. Because of this, I've always been incredibly aware of how this can, and will affect anybody in some way. You're not safe from it just because you came from a wealthy, white family. You're not even safe if you've never experienced any type of trauma. Though I'm not a religious person, I pray that one day every addict has the outlets and resources they need to save themselves, and that every family member, friend, and/or community member has the resources they need to decompress.
He missed a belt loop on his pants.
This video maybe the best video you and Michel produced. It wasn't so much what happened but everything you said was right on the money. I'm 76, been clean for 50+yrs and totally related to this story. When I think of the money and time I wasted on heroin just pimakes me mad at how stupid I was. I hope people listen to every word you said. Thanks Bruce and Michael.
Ya, what cd i have if not for drugs and alcohol?
Hey, I'm really glad you are here 50+ years longer than where you were headed. I quit drinking 15 years ago. It's true that addiction steals everything from us and our loved ones. ❤
Your Humor is raw and funny! I’m laughing during hard times in family law court for over four years! I’m glad I found you
I'll always appreciate your ability to loose your train of thought and recover so quickly. It's an unmatched skill!
It's government privilege.
Bruce- if he were black he would have his car searched and be arrested!
Police- Searched his car and arrested him.
Bruce-
Stop lying. This was policing done fairly by a caring department.
@@JodyOwen-we6oo a black person would be cuffed immediately
It’s so surreal that all this happened in the parking lot of the salon that I used to work in. The salon owner’s boyfriend saw a guy nodding off in his car, thought he was dying, and he immediately went and notified a police officer to see if the dude was okay.
Wow! That’s really scary!
I love your commentary!!"they're in me now"
When you linked your sponsor to crack I laughed so hard... That was flawless!
I love how you already relate the E Sign ad to whatever the video is about 😂 “so let’s say you’re a councilmen and you’re smoking crack in your car, you’re definitely going to need something signed” 😂😂😂
It's sweet how you talk about your son. You guys are awesome.
Thank you for saying what was thinking Bruce Rivers.
The way you speak about your son is so beautiful!
I’m the daughter of two Lawyers so it’s awesome to see your content, especially with your son being a badass behind the scenes! ☺️
This is a reminder that addiction is a PUBLIC HEALTH issue, and it should be treated with seriousness and respect. Just because someone is addicted to a hard drug doesn't mean they're bad people. We have address the root causes of drug use and violence in order to improve our societe.
I'm 10 years sober and STILL get vilified, demeaned and made to feel like shit.
Addicts will never get treated with compassion, there is too much ignorance, biases etc 😢
Yeah people that take drugs are often people that never thought that they would be taking drugs.
Many start when they are in a vulnerable state and then you are addicted and therefore you continue.
I understand that people wonder why people take drugs but they also need to try and understand that things aren’t as black and white as they seem.
No drug should be illegal
@@oskarekelund1476 mine started when l had 14 surgeries and countess procedures after giving birth to my son. I became addicted to pain killers. I naively didn't know you could, and not one of my surgeon's or doctors told me either.

I’m so glad I found your channel a couple weeks ago! I’ve watched SO many videos! Love the relationship you have with your son and how much you appreciate him. You really seem like y’all have A relationship fathers and sons should strive for!
I have SOooooo much FUN watching and listening to your reactions to these videos !!! I was arrested for the first time in my life for a DUI, in which I was neither driving nor drinking/smoking/drugging anything !😮😢😮. After nearly a year of fighting this, they dropped the charges and cleared my record. I was So angry 😡, but your funny videos are helping me enjoy police videos Again 😂😅😂❤❤❤ !!!🙏 Blessings to you and your family 💞 !!!
I fw u heavy Bruce!!!
Thank you Bruce R. For being TRUE to the law and reality.
And for naming the likely "white privilege" that seems to be shown. Although by the end of the video it seems that he's been very fortunate to have been met by compassionate and caring officers. Which is also really good to see. No hostility from anyone - showing how it's possible to do law enforcement without fear and aggression. Thanks Bruce, and Michael Rivers!
Young child in my community went in the kitchen and told her mama: "Daddy won't wake up." And he never did. Those words haunt me. Good show. I hope it helps someone.
More than 20 years ago our beloved mobile veterinarian crashed & burned on meth. He lost everything on drugs. I’ll never forget the night he was with me trying to save a rescue litter of parvo puppies, on our knees on the laundry room floor. I’ve always remembered him and hope he got his life back on track.
I am 5 plus years a recovering addict and deal with sleep apnea and it sucks. I will be sober 6 years on June 15th. I sleep with a c-pap and if I don’t use it at night it’s hard to stay awake during the day. I pray anyone who needs help get the help they need. It’s definitely not worth it. I made a lot of dumb decisions during my active addiction days. I give all the credit to my wife for getting me the help I needed.
Me too. Just turned 10 years, I cannot imagine going back to that painful life.
