I'm a sucker for a good comp and that sounds like a cool one. I've ordered records from Green Noise Records out of Portland, WA and they usually throw in an extra record and often it has been a pretty cool one. I do have a Stiv Bators album on Bomp. Succinct review.
"Get Me Home for Tea" lol great album title. Sounds like an awesome comp - I'll be on the lookout for it. Vinyl looks awesome too. I always thought of Kim Fowley as more of a producer of other artists than as a creative artist himself. But I guess he has released quite a few records. Telescopes album covers are both fantastic. I'd like to hear both of those. Charger is probably the one I'd most like to hear out of this group. Thanks for showing the records.
Giles, Giles And Fripp - The Cheerful Insanity Of Giles, Giles And Fripp and The Brondesbury Tapes albums are well worth checking out if you like Nightmares in Red.
I'm a french wannabe but I am trying to relearn what I did as a grade schooler / high schooler. Great trades there though. I only have 1 Crass LP and would love to grab a few more. Great Stones review, my mom used to say the same.
I like dealing with it. I like to look at my collection or bands like a high school fan boy would look at them. Some people question my facts but the spirit of rock 'n' roll is told (and exaggerated) by those that came before. You want facts? Buy the book. I still pronounce Samhaim that way. I actually thought it was a person's name when I first found out about them. Can't go wrong with Bomp! I'm highly interested in The Telescopes. Their name has been thrown around alot within the last 5 years. Your Mom had giant wisdom. Cheers!
I will have to look through The Telescopes stuff, thanks for the recommendation. Hackney Diamonds? I haven't even bothered with it, them Stones should have stopped rolling a long while ago. Like when Brian Jones died. That UK psych compilation looks interesting.
I checked out one of that guys videos and he showed some awesome stuff I didn’t know existed Like The Syn. And Bodast albums. Hopefully this will be the year that Glen Danzig gets his Super Bowl ring.
I love the Misfits/Samhain, but the amount of bootlegs that have appeared over here in the UK in the last few weeks is ridiculous. My local store had about 25 new releases/reissues! 😆
@@vinylrichie007 A few of the records were on weird Italian and Japanese labels that I'd never heard of before, and the rest was unofficial Plan 9 stuff. I bought a copy of 12 Hits From Hell for £18/$21. It didn't have an insert, but it was a really nice press. I think Glenn must be raising funds in order to make more of those terrible Horror movies, lol. 😆
I love that Crass album. I'd love to see your top 10 Stones albums. My latest purchases are Christ On Parade: Sounds Of Nature, Virgin Prunes: If I Die, I Die and The Art Attacks: Outrage & Horror. Great UK punk
I tried collecting psych series a couple of times, the problem I encountered is that there is at least one in the series that is next to impossible to find or else is very expensive. So I stopped collecting series. Ex. Rubble series.
I was gonna pick up one of the Samhain bootleg reissues but my local store sold out. When people say Samhain the “right way” it just sounds dumb. The telescopes looks interesting. Did you ever see the dream syndicate in la in the 80s?
If I wanted to listen to geriatrics perform, I'd hear more interesting results from a secured memory care unit during activity hour. But I'll leave my opinion on Hackney Diamonds out of this...
I have that "Pissed and Proud" live album too, it's a fantastic live album, fast, loud, chaotic, has everything how a Punk-Rock show should or sounded like in the 80. You feel/hear the energy from the gig through your stereo/speakers. This album was always for me a sort of "Best of" or "Greatest Hits Live" (just like the Cockney Rejects did with volume 3 of their Greatest Hits. For me the first Peter & Test Tube Babies album still is "The Mating sounds of American frogs" which for me is the best album they ever did. It contains: " September part 1 and part 2", " The Jinx", " Never made it" amongst others. The album after that " Soberphobia" is also pretty good. Strange pressing from that Crass album...I have the same black vinyl and labels just like you also first pressing on Crass Records, but with the giant fold out cover. I have never seen a early pressing with a normal cover...curious now. I think you pressing from Peter & Test Tube Babies is a Japanese pressing on Vap Records, I have never seen that album with green label on the vinyl. The first pressing I have is also black vinyl but with the big black No Future and the rest of the label is plain white with the tracklisting in small black. In the Netherlands it came out in coöperation with Road Runner Records. I will look on discogs, anyway a interesting watch again. Take care. Michel
Nice find with the Telescopes. One of the best, unknown psychedelic bands of theCD era. Nice to see the vinyl coming out. I agree with the comparison to BJM. Btw, the two new BJM records are highly recommended. And the review of the new Stones album was given all the time it deserves. Cheers, Shawn

I'd be interested in your ten Stones. Just be sure to do your own. Tired of the big four always being top 4. Love the Stones, but Hackney is more hype then Diamond. Then again, for 80 years, its something. But I only measure whether its good or not
I have n3ver tried a Fowley album, I have always been apprehensive about his solo material. I haven’t bought from Bomp in ages. I like a lot of their records but I’m trying to not buy as much which I seem to constantly fail at. I got a pile of records to trade in for credit also. The Telescopes are pretty good. I think I got both of those albums off Bomp a year or so ago. Good group. I bought them because of the Shoegaze connections. Lol, I streamed the RS album and mentioned I didn’t like it on my podcast. We might be in the minority lol
As far as the new Stones album, give it time. Reality will sink in. It actually has a couple of good songs. Two good songs does not make a great album. Buying this Kim Fowley record was a mistake. I was hoping it would include 60’s Psych.
I think my favorite part of this video was your over pronouncing some of these titles. I wouldn’t walk across the road to get a free Kim Fowley record. Now some of these others might be interesting. Yeah, nobody pronounces Samhain correctly.
The Stones last good album was Emotional Rescue & Some Girls was the last one that was essential . Kim Fowley was a generally dislikable person. Many people in the industry ( including my Dad ) would not meet with him and be forced to endure his ponderous act.
I think Steel Wheels is pretty good. I know some people that dealt with Kim Fowley in the late 70's and nothing nice was said. Am I mistaken that you used to have videos on RUclips.
@vinylrichie007 I did a few in 2018 before I had a stroke. They had copyright violations so YT made me take them down ..1 was on The Verve deserving to get the royalties for Bittersweet Sympathy ( That ended up happening in 2021 ) & was on 3 best bands you never heard Comsat Angels , Chameleons & The Sound. For British psych, seek out the old Chocolate Soup For Diabetics comps from the early 80s, if you haven't already.
