I believe the verdict is out on which came out first being that no definitive release date has ever been confirmed. I've always understood that 13th Floor Elevators had them beat by a few weeks. Regardless, they both were a bit before Blues Magoos.
@@vinylrichie007 Perhaps, but Tommy Hall was using the word in relation to their music well before the album came out, which was delayed anyway due to label issues.

Electric Prunes Stockholm '67 is a fantastic live psych album. I have a copy of the CD but have never seen the LP. Cool! All of the LP's shown here are absolute must haves for psych collectors. Thanks for sharing.
Was very excited to see The Human Bronx Evolution album. In my opinion, that’s the best album you showed in this video. Was composed so well, love the guitar echos/distortions and lyrics on the album. 1968, gosh would have loved to be in high school at that time, back when rock had interesting sounds.

"Psychedelic Microdots 3: My Rainbow Life" is a totally killer 60s psych comp. Its version of "My Rainbow Life" by the Third Bardo is superior to what's on that Freak Scene album you showed.
Felix Papawhatever also produced and even played with Creation, the later version of the Japanese band Blues Creation. Really kicking myself for not buying Psychedelic Psoul when I last saw it... Some cool records. I might take the plunge with that album with the huge eye on the sleeve. It's in my local record shop and I've looked at it a few times but it's a bit pricey at £45 and I believe it's the 2nd pressing. The guy normally does me good deals so might haggle with him the next time I go in. You mentioned some albums by huge bands in the Doors, Floyd and Beatles. I don't know if you have it, but I've had added the Bee Gee's 1st album. A lot of people are reluctant to listen to it because it's them, but it's an incredible album. Also very modestly priced too. Again, because it's the Bee Gees.
The Psychedelic Psoul album by Freak Scene is on RUclips. Check it out before buying it. The second song is supposed to be statements from various people on the streets of NY. Some is objectionable. I’m familiar with The Bee Gees singles from the 60’s but have never listened to a complete album.

Gimme that bubblegum album Dick! There's that damn St. John Green, Round 5. I prefer Nirvana's follow up, but both are whimsical, floaty baroque pop. Really nice. Lots of nice showings, lots I don't have yet. 40 year old dudes from The Racket Squad need more love. I'll keep saying it, but after everything I've crossed in my psych path nothing surpasses Churchill's or Fifty Foot Hose. Super original jams & wild for their time.
What about Tommy by The Who, Dream On by Aerosmith, Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by Small Faces, Machine Head by Deep Purple, Time Has Come Today by The Chamber's Brothers, Inagoddadavita by Iron Butterfly?
Some of those I don’t consider Psych. Ogden’s Nut Flake is an album that I don’t own at this time but if I did I would have included it. Time Has Come Today is a great song but most of the album is not as good.
Aerosmith is not only not 60's (this is a list of 60's recordings), but they were NOT psych. Machine Head isn't, either. Always though DP were really overrated.

@@JoeChewBaca Side two of Crown of Creation is acid fueled rock. Bathing At Baxters is pretty far out.
I love Garage .Psych It was what i discovered after my first love UK punk died in 79 What i would say about this genre there are far more great singles then albums Most bands didn't do any albums and the well known bands like the Standells Chocolate watch band etc Did some great songs but no consistently great albums Here are my fav psych /Garage albums not all are necessary from the 60's and a couple debatable depending on your interpretation
I don’t really like Adding popular artists as psych is a creative sub genre not bread head music
But I have to add Pink Floyd’s first album Piper at the gates of Dawn which is a psych master piece
Their seconds not bad either
July is an excellent album the rest In no particular order
Non 60’s where stated
C.A Quntett “Trip thru hell” 69 US
Group 1850” Agmos trip to mother earth” Dutch
The Electric Prunes “Underground”US
Freeborne “Peak impressions US
The Collectors The Collectors
The Collectors “ Grass and wild strawberries “Canada
My indole Ring “My indole Ring “ Canada
The Shamen “ Drop “ UK 1986
The Dukes of Stratosphere “ 25 o clock Uk 86? This is XTC under a different name
Terry Brookes and the Strange “Translucent world “ US 1973
Gila “ Bury my head at wounded knee “ German 1972
The Music Machine Turn on US
The Bonniwell Music Machine US
Caravan “ Land of grey and pink “ Uk
We the People “ To much Noise “ 60’s band new Lp of demo’s and singles
It might be more interesting doing singles as there are so many
Psych/Garage singles can be expensive and I don’t want to go down that rabbit hole. I’m happy with the many compilations that are out there. I picked up a reissue of CA Quintet a few months ago. It is great.
@@vinylrichie007 I know there are so many great singles i would love to have but rarely come up for sale and are too expensive when they do But i managed to bag a few in the early days of Ebay at a reasonable price .I could have bought the original CA Quintett back in 2005 for £30 but slept in and missed it I have the reissue but there was a set of Psych boots i bought it originally on psycho label back in the 80's They also did some great compls called Endless Journey " It was rumoured that the Collectors finished the final Chocolate watch band album because they weren't in a fit state at the time
11.44. Ha ha ha ha I just split a spleen laugh. Feckin hilarious. U have got me into psych u nasty fecker ha ha ha ha.
Any Airplane works for me.
They make my top 5 of favorite 60’s bands.

Yes
Am enjoying modern pyche at the moe King gizzard and the lizard wizard and earth tongue from new Zealand ohhh yeeah.
I need to check out King Gizzard.
Highly recommend all of there albums I'm listening to micotonal banana and polygondwana land at the moment all brilliant. Earth tongue also rock the house Ritchie.
King Gizzard, Tame Impala, The Claypool Lennon Delirium & Psychedelic Pörn Crumpets are all great new Psych bands
Nobody ever shows Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush's records from 75-74 Strange Dreams and Child of novelty. Way better than some of this obscure stuff . Spinach belongs on my dinner table with hot bacon dressing on it. Not on my turn table. ha ha. spin some Mahogany Rush!
The last time I checked Mahogany Rush weren’t around in the 60’s.
That doors album is just a fold down of the stereo mix. The first album has a real mono mix.
The Mothers of Invention records are better than those records he likes.
Video was so good I instantly went to give it a thumbs down. My doctor wants a word with you now, Richie...
My doctor wants a word with me also.
What a collection this guy has, where do people get all this disposable money to spend on expensive records geez I can barely pay my rent.
I had a good job. I’m retired now and no longer have that kind of money.
