    I knew how to do this but hadn't done it in a long time and needed a refresher. Your explanation and visual are both very well explained and shown and NOT (as many videos are) too long winded without getting to the point. You told it as it needed to be at each stage and explained it very well. I now am confident I can do this!

    You have a beautiful smile! ❤️ And are a natural teacher! I’m not great at sewing, but I believe I could do that! There’s been many times, where I’ve seen something I like, but it’s been too small, and as I hate long sleeves, I’d be happy to cut them off! So thanks for the tutorial! 😊🇬🇧

      Yes. This is fantastic to use the sleeves. I am now needing to alter granddaughter’s dress 3x to expand bust area. Will use black poly knit for diamond shaped godet from waist to elbow of the sleeve on Walmart green/black plaid dress. Im thrilled this can be sized up !!!

    Thank you Niler! I just bought a really pretty top from the thrift store recently, and once I tried it on, I discovered I'd like it to be a little larger. So I can see that I need to insert a gusset. However, my shirt is already short sleeved, so there is no extra fabric to work with. The fabric is a polyester peach color with some little white shapes all over. I'm thinking I can get some similar fabric in plain white and insert a gusset. I realize you made this video 4 years ago and probably won't see this comment. I did enjoy how you explained everything and had no annoying music in the background. Thanks for this content!

    • @NilerTaylor-relindesigns
      @NilerTaylor-relindesigns  2 года назад

      I agree. Finding a white fabric to add your gusset should work just fine. I would make the gusset longer (bring it higher to the under arm). This will help it to look like it was part of the top design. Let me know how it turns out. Happy Sewing!

    You made it look easy to do with your concise explanation. It gave me confidence to make the adjustment on one of my blouses. My problem now is how to do it with a 'netting' type of material. I thought maybe I'd have to use interfacing on the pieces I want to make the stitches. Any suggestions? Thank you.

    • @NilerTaylor-relindesigns
      @NilerTaylor-relindesigns  2 года назад

      If the netting material is see through, your seams will show. I suggest triming the seams thin and finishing the edges of the seam.

So I bought another Burda pattern used the same size and it was way to small so I cut extra material for each side and it has taken me all day but I have finally got it. I’m not a seamstress and I would have trashed it if it hadn’t been for what you showed. Thank you for posting this.

I always need more room just at the hip, not at the waist, so can I do a gusset not going all the way up? I usually need to cut off my length of shirt, so I can use that cut fabric for a small gusset. Just wondered what you think?
