Most people like me who does a lot of craftsmanship and metal working, knows that when you heat up a piece of metal that's hardened, it takes the hardness out of the metal like you saw in the video. But what alot of people don't know, is that when you take a piece of metal that's hardened and get it extremely cold, it actually makes the metal even stronger/harder. This people is why the cold ball bearing was able to break through that armored piece of steel.

Only a few rare exceptions(countries) use Imperial system. Even most English speaking countries have the Metric system has standard, NOT the Imperial. The Metric ton is roughly twice heavier than the Imperial ton. *Perhaps the video should make reference to which system is being used, BUT the author of this Channel is Ukrainian, and the video is produced in Ukraine -- where the METRIC system is also the standard / norm!
i would have kept that steel ball that created so much damage and chaos there! how many things did that? i think it's the only one! and you destroyed it :(
Tip for camera abusers. Get some plastic cutting boards and make an open cage to protect the camera. Use a board larger than the camera as a base with two sides and a top that can be made from strips of cut up board. Choose a plastic that has high impact absorption over rigidity. The purpose of the cage is to hit the ground instead of expensive lenses etc and cushion the impact.

Out of interest, what was the difference in diameter between the room temperature ball and the frozen one? Would be fun to see the relative increase in density with the temperature drop.
Heat treated steel has a crystal molecular structure that's both extremely rigid and extremely elastic, so it barely changes at all with temperature. We'd be talking thousandths of an inch, small enough you need a micrometer to measure the difference. For a reference, high compression performance engines have cylinders and pistons milled to tolerances as tight as 2 thou or 0.002 inches, and shops will sometimes use liquid nitrogen on the pistons to get them to slide in. Without it, the fit is too tight and it's impossible for the trapped air to escape.
