1:37 Read the manga. I actually started reading the manga starting like 2007, and started watching anime couple years later. But to answer the same question with OP manga, I retain the information and just wait for the next chapter. I also watch OP manga reviews and theory videos at times.
I survive week to week by having other things to watch/read during the week... and with one piece i see the reactions of other people watching older episodes on youtube... I only watch the anime AFTER the full arc is over since i hate how slow the pacing is in the newest arcs in the anime... newer episodes cover about 75% of one manga chapter when the regular average of other anime series is 2-3 chapters per episode... There are about 3 manga chapters per month... and there are 4 episodes of the anime per month after all... but watching them accumulated after i already read the manga that is fine since i want actually feel the story advancing there...

Since having mostly covered more chapters per episode for a good part of it's runtime at the beginning... For the anime to catch up to the manga chapters numbers... The chapters would now have to do the opposite and have multiple episodes per chapter when you think about it... But it is also true that not all episodes take half a chapter but also some episodes may take two chapters depending on the contents... Some fights are easier to elongqte by having some extra punches and waits in between those punches... While some conversations are just short and simple and can't be stalled. Some memories can be padded by flashbacks of prior episodes, some gruop shots can be lenghtened by panning the camera and adding music and close-ups... Plenty of tricks to keep a 1 to 1 ratio for a while but the sad truth is that there are so many of a breaks in the manga that the anime has to stall at certain points... In the case of the newest arc that has been, to the best of my knowledge from what I did watch, by adding a certain detour to an island that was not in the manga to stop for groceries for example in a certain flashback and having some hijiks there. So Naruto style filling episode in between cannon episodes.... Might not be the case in other episodes and that just happened to be the case for the one I did watch thou...

I have noticed something that the subs that they are using are different than what I had seen. And I would say mine were more impactful and accurate. For Example - luffy's last line " these guys have powers" were actually "they are devil fruit users". Which I think would work better here.
Well when this was airing, I was still a kid but one piece wasn't airing in America anymore. So it helps if your a kid who doesn't have to worry about adult responsibility. But as an adult and you have bills to pay. I recommend watching reaction videos, playing videogames, and watch theory episode. I feel like erza is gonna feel a type of way in amazon lily 😂.
How to manage week to week? I watch/read theory and rewach old one with you XD. Its funnier to watch again with others reactions. This is also the moment I start read them 8 year ago. its the only manga I read week to week and Im realy happy to do it. Oda draw impressive panels, its very fast to read and its still very nice to see this nice story animate after.

You talked about luck in this video, and I want to mention my theory, or perhaps just a way of thinking about it (also in answer to Erza, theorizing is how we make it from week to week). I think of luck in One Piece as a sort of attribute of the strong-willed. Zoro talks about luck multiple times and I think he recognizes it to some degree. He knows he's lucky, as he mentioned when testing his own luck against the curse of his sword Kitetsu when he first got it. It's more than just random chance. It's like those with strong enough will can unconsciously bend the world in their favor in circumstances. All the Straw Hats are lucky in terms of survival/victory, but they're not alone. Or perhaps it's better to call it fate. Like, just looking at his fellow supernovas, all of the 100-million bounties of this generation all come together on the same archipelago at the same time and they all keep running into each other despite there being like 70 islands. Of course, the more likely answer is that Oda just doesn't let things like "that's too big a coincidence" hinder him from doing something anyway because he thinks it would make the story more interesting or exciting
on another note, I think Boa punished the three who helped Luffy because at that moment she thought he was a slave hunter or some shit because he recognized the brand and considering her background over reacting is pretty understandable.
Monkey=Saru (remember Kizaru? Ki=yellow Saru= monkey, the second part of the words have a quirk in kanji where something happens that i wont explain and in the case of an S, it becomes a Z if it is the second kanji, if you actually want to know i can explain the letter change in detail)

Well when this was airing, I was still a kid but one piece wasn't airing in America anymore. So it helps if your a kid who doesn't have to worry about adult responsibility. But as an adult and you have bills to pay. I recommend watching reaction videos, playing videogames, and watch theory episode.

You talked about luck in this video, and I want to mention my theory, or perhaps just a way of thinking about it (also in answer to Erza, theorizing is how we make it from week to week).
I think of luck in One Piece as a sort of attribute of the strong-willed. Zoro talks about luck multiple times and I think he recognizes it to some degree. He knows he's lucky, as he mentioned when testing his own luck against the curse of his sword Kitetsu when he first got it. It's more than just random chance. It's like those with strong enough will can unconsciously bend the world in their favor in circumstances. All the Straw Hats are lucky in terms of survival/victory, but they're not alone. Or perhaps it's better to call it fate. Like, just looking at his fellow supernovas, all of the 100-million bounties of this generation all come together on the same archipelago at the same time and they all keep running into each other despite there being like 70 islands.
Of course, the more likely answer is that Oda just doesn't let things like "that's too big a coincidence" hinder him from doing something anyway because he thinks it would make the story more interesting or exciting
