In 2018 she made a series where she went on a road trip of the US. It was called Miriams Big American Adventure, made by BBC TV. In it she toured the States meeting people from all walks of life, with some comedic moments and some less comedic and some poignant. Glad you've finally 'met' the utter legend that is Miriam Margolyes! And yes, there are more clips of her on this show. In fact, pretty much anything on the Graham Norton Show is gold - he's probably the top talk show host we have in the UK. All the most famous celebrities love being on it, because he treats the whole thing like a party, where all the guests sit on the sofa together and chat with each other. Graham balances it all perfectly; unlike many other chat show hosts, he's happy to step back and let the guests be the stars, by dropping a (VERY well-researched) nugget of info about each star and then letting them riff on that with all the other guests.
He also mixes the guests well, June Brown and Lady Gaga was a classic Allowing them to drink alcohol has led to some interesting moments like a drunken Mark Wahlberg sitting on Graham's lap or Matt Damon stating "this is the best chat show I've ever been on"
Miriam is a living legend 🙌🏻 when people in the UK talk about ‘dream dinner party guests, dead or alive’ Miriam nearly always shows up on these lists. She’s definitely on mine.
You've opened up Pandora's box with Miriam Margolyes, she is unfiltered and a welcome distraction from everyday life, everyone should have a gran like her it would scare your parents to leave you with her and her stories

Graham Norton is the best chat show host. All the guest out together and mixing, it's always great fun and there are loads of great compilations to watch on RUclips
This made me laugh so so much. I love Miriam and I’ve seen all these interviews before but it was much funnier with these two American guys watching, I can only assume American tv is much more filtered than here in the UK. She is hilariously crude and entertaining but it’s really because she’s posh and educated, most people don’t sound like that here, she is relatable to ordinary people and I think that’s why she is so popular. She is of course, tremendously talented too.
I can highly recommend getting Miriams autobiography audio book (she reads it herself) "This Much is True" It's one of the most brutally honest autobiographies you will ever hear/read. She was atually criticisied for disclosing so many secrets of the celebs she has worked with in it. But to the average person that just makes it all the more better.
Miriam travelled the outback in Australia a few years ago and met with indigenous aboriginals, including the trans community. She is so well loved even if a little brash

@@sandgrownun66 Offensive ? How so ? Offensive statements aren’t in the exclusive realm of the “privileged” ? If you are referring to her potty mouth I am sure that there are many entertainment figures Who didn’t go to Oxbridge who also “get away with it”. She had many struggles at Cambridge - particularly with the predominantly male Footlights team which went on to form Monty Python. She learned how easy it was to get ignored and did something about it.
@@mogulmeister OK. So you don't find wishing somebody serious harm and then death to be offensive. In that case, what do you find offensive, if anything? Of course, being offensive isn't only the preserve of the privileged. But if you don't have the right connections, you're more likely to fall foul of the authorities. There have been a couple of cases recently, of comedians having action taken against them. Simply for making jokes, which pale in comparison, to those made by Miss Margoyles. As for her "potty mouth", you obviously don't know the meaning of the term. To enlighten you, it refers to using bad language. Wishing someone severe bodily harm and death in an ad hominem attack, goes far beyond the use of a few generalised swear words. Nobody "struggles" at Cambridge, and anyway, is that an excuse for her reprehensible behaviour, in this case? If you manage to get to Oxford or Cambridge, you've already made it. All the right doors are open and waiting for you. The Footlights is just a side line outside their studies for those who are dramatically inclined.
Actually, Miriam's surname is pronounced (Mar-go-leez). She is one of the funniest women of all time. Miriam is and for ever will be an national treasure. She's one of the funniest, honest and most wonderful human beings put on this rock. Every interview type show I see her on will always bring a smile to my face or have me in fits of giggles.
I've always loved Norton's show, Miriam is just the perfect personality to compliment him and bring out that extra from almost any other guests they have on. I love how it doesn't simply act as an advertising platform for their next film or project - the 'yeh yeh you have another film coming, now onto the stories..'
Yes considering the tension from the black people at the beginning of the interview with Will I Am. He just totally warms to her and she him. Its adorable, even when he obviously can't believe he made the rain joke, she still beat him with the end of the story.

I'd say he was the best anywhere in the world. I'm from Australia and his is the only celebrity talk show I like!
He is a one of a kind tv host interviewer, possibly the best on the planet at the moment.
He makes me proud to be Irish ..... he's a legend!!
@@pauline8987 Indeed. He's a great Irish broadcaster.
He also mixes the guests well, June Brown and Lady Gaga was a classic
Allowing them to drink alcohol has led to some interesting moments like a drunken Mark Wahlberg sitting on Graham's lap or Matt Damon stating "this is the best chat show I've ever been on"
Miriam is a living legend 🙌🏻 when people in the UK talk about ‘dream dinner party guests, dead or alive’ Miriam nearly always shows up on these lists. She’s definitely on mine.
You've opened up Pandora's box with Miriam Margolyes, she is unfiltered and a welcome distraction from everyday life, everyone should have a gran like her it would scare your parents to leave you with her and her stories
Her name isn't Pandora.
@@fintonmainz7845 Ah, I see what you did there.
One of a few people you wish she lived for a 1000 years. Phenomenal entertainer.
I've just read her book called "This much is true". It's absolutely one of thee best books I have ever read, absolutely brilliant. Bought mine on ebay. Anyone who is a fan of Miriam must read this hilarious book. 😂💜
It's so refreshing to see you both thoroughly enjoying our comedy, and mentioning the late great Sean had me sold. I'll be watching more of your video. Thank you!
It is really interesting watching the change in Will-i-am’s body language with Miriam from the beginning of this through to the end. She won him over💕 I love British comedy. Sending best wishes from Down Under 🇦🇺😎
So true. He wasn't sure what to make of her at the start. He even sat with his body facing away from her. By the end they were best mates and snuggling up to each other - it was so cute to watch them.
Crying with laughter😂😂imagine sitting Bob Mortimer and Miriam together for a chat😂😂😂🫶🏽
Graham Norton is the best chat show host. All the guest out together and mixing, it's always great fun and there are loads of great compilations to watch on RUclips
maggie smith was the mother superior in sister act, i love this video, well done guys, cant wait for the next one xx
Miriam is SO outspoken, with not a care in the world, love her so much!! 💝
I’ve just listened to it, she has lived a very full life and her best life.
My mum has been recommending her book for a while. I might have to give the audio book a go!
All the better. The "more" is superfluous. Just saying
Thanks for the heads up Tass, think I'll order it x
I've got it so funny and honest
Out-Chandlered Chalndler, effortlessly funny, perfect timing, GREAT storyteller. 90% of stand up's wish to be what she is.
Don’t find chandler funny at all unless they have a script
Miriam travelled the outback in Australia a few years ago and met with indigenous aboriginals, including the trans community.
She is so well loved even if a little brash
Saw her last week at a live show in our local theatre, honestly she is phenomenal and so funny
Long term UK subscriber… first time comment…
One of your best reactions gentlemen… thank you. You’re increasingly starting to respond/react just like most of us natives in this one.
She is completely world class - and in the UK, whilst she’s a national treasure, we celebrate our stars with a quiet wink and a huge belly laugh.
Really glad you found one of our gems and that you clearly enjoyed it!
Crack on!! 😊
She is such a genius woman, fabulous fun, and an extrordinary actress, a national treasure.
@@philjones45 Speak your mind Phil,you’re a national treasure 👍🏻
Was waiting for the creaming of the knickers to see your reaction, was as expected.
The bloke on the far right on the last part was Adam Lambert, he has done a few tours singing with Queen.
Can confirm Miriam's Scottish (Glaswegian) accent is 100% accurate & believable.
What an absolute character! :)
p.s. can also confirm you see some mad sh1t at night in the Meadows in Edinburgh during the Festival!! LOL
Love this lady. Ya can't beat British humour. Did I ever need this today. Crying with laughter.
Miriam Margoyles is a gift to us all. Hard not to be happy when she is around.
Imagine Miriam and Bob Mortimer together , that would be a time you would seriously die laughing 😂
OMG, I hope someone finds such a collection!
Have beeen waiting an eternity for you guys to get round to Miriam - and you didn't disappont! She's a class act and one in a million. Thanks for brightening up my day! 😂😂😂🍻
That was an awesome Maggie Smith impression, don't know how I've never seen it before.
Miriam has no filter.
And that’s what makes her the best guest for Graham
She's like everybody's mad old aunt for the entire country!
Miriam is one of Graham Norton’s best ever guests and everybody knows the show will be good when she is appearing. As is Greg Davies (the tall guy with Miriam and Will.I.am) There are a few collections of his appearances with Graham - another good one to check out
Guys Miriam is our UK treasure. Whatever show you watch she is so amazing and fun and true. Miriam never lies she is the truth. Embrace her she is beautiful and fun and great.
Miriam is a true star 🌟. We must treasure and protect her always ❤ 💖
This is the third time I’ve watched this reaction and I still think I’ll watch it again I’m sure
A most fantastic lady,now she’s over 80 she’s just the same amazing 🌸
I wish everyone could grow up to be Miriam Margolyes ! The world would be a kinder place.
Everyone loves Miriam she as lots of brilliant stories and everyone is true.what you see is what you get with Miriam I just love her When she’s a guest on anyones show they never know what she’s going to say and I love that.Always enjoy watching her she just brightens your day .So glad you’ve found Miriam .great reaction guys .Love from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴😂😂🤣🤣👏👏👏👍😘
Really Worth checking out her appearances in Blackadder as the Spanish Enfanta in Season 1, then as Blackadder 's Religious Extremist Aunt in Season 2 and as Queen Victoria in the Christmas Special, Blackadder's Christmas Carol. She's absolutely hilarious in those. Love her xxx
Loved he in Call the Midwife too!
"Don't you get it it sounds like fff"
Wicked child
Translator: "Oh my love .... my quick little caterpillar""
Jim Broadbent as the translator in the Spanish infanta is hilarious too. And then they both became teachers at Hogwarts.
After a rough few days I’ve watched this and cried with laughter. Miriam is amazing but I loved your reactions too.
Oh laughter is the best medicine x
Hope you are on your way up after those rough few days. One stranger to another.
@@gordanau8290 thank you so much for your kind words. This human really appreciates your kindness.
Sadly our fur baby died suddenly the day before yesterday and it knocked us all back. I think it’s just one of those things that you can get a cluster of stress/distress followed by calm. I’m really looking forward to the calm. I may watch another MM - she’s outrageous but we do love her and it’s hard not to laugh at how she behaves xx
I agree their reactions are great, rarely do you see Daniel trying to catch his breath (Spence is always. Give me a second!!) Love how they both get her though. Has she been on WILTY cos every story would be true 🤣
I've seen all these clips before but watching these fellows watch them and seeing their reaction....it was all new!! And so funny! Thank you!
I work in home care and one of our clients is just like Miriam every time we go to her house we end up crying with laughter 🤣
Well you lived through Miriam. God Bless You and HER. NATIONAL TREASURE!
Oh Miriam❤️
I could listen to her for hours!
She played Sister Mildred in Call the midwife and she was an absolute joy. This woman needs protecting at all costs!
Miriyam is absolutely bonkers - no holds barred 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Does that include when she stated that she wanted Boris Johnson castrated and then dead?
Uninhibited yes, bonkers no. She’s Oxbridge educated and has a sharp mind with lots of intellectual hinterland.
@@mogulmeister And the ability to make offensive public statements. However, because she's privileged, she can get away with it.
@@sandgrownun66 Offensive ? How so ? Offensive statements aren’t in the exclusive realm of the “privileged” ? If you are referring to her potty mouth I am sure that there are many entertainment figures
Who didn’t go to Oxbridge who also “get away with it”.
Miriam played Professor Sprout in 3 Harry Potter's films, Yentl, Little Shop of Horrors, End of Days and many more. She's one of a kind, special, intelligent, sweet and funny as hell. Love, love, love her!
She is a lovable, adored, eccentric old dear, and we Brits love her, as she is hilarious and true to herself 💕 a national treasure 💕
The story of giving the soldier a helping hand, was continued in her book, where she details that just after doing it, she turns round and sees a friend from her university days, and did the same for him.
X) She has lived
She's amazing and one person you could listen to for hours on end and never be bored.
The episode with Will and Greg is one of the best ever chat show moments, definitely worth watching the whole thing.
This woman is brutally honest and I love her and she has no filter and I can relate! She's so naturally funny Human!
This woman should be a Dame, she is wonderful and a national treasure…love her soooooo much
Miriam is a class act there are so many clips of her on talk shows all over the world just being her. Her book is an eye opener packed with stories, funny and sad unedited of course.
She's amazing and somehow i still feel like this compilation did not do her real justice. Watching each interview individually would have truly captured how great she is. I feel the chopping and switching between segments did her a disservice and broke the momentum and energy of each interview. Anyways appreciate the content as always 🙌🏾
your reaction to the 'stage door' was priceless. this woman is being who she is. it is not an act. she is great.
I work in home care and one of our clients is just like Miriam whenever I come out of her house I am crying with laughter
You've hit the jackpot with Miriam, she has no filter and is refreshingly open and so funny. I love your reaction to this, yet another rabbit hole for you guys 😊
She is one of a kind. I love her so much. They showed a lot of different ones and I was so excited because I knew what was coming nearer the end.
I thought, you guys have seen nothing yet! LoL.
Mirriam was raised very posh and correct in her English - she is awesome; it can lead to some really funny bits when she is so forward and her stories so outrageous.
I can watch these clips over and over again and laugh everytime. She is a treasure.
Miriam is and for ever will be an national treasure. She's one of the funniest, honest and most wonderful human beings put on this rock. Every interview type show I see her on will always bring a smile to my face or have me in fits of giggles.
Miriam Margoyles is one of the nicest, funniest woman EVER to be on any chat show. No filter
Glad to see Miriam Escobar getting the recognition she deserves.
Escobar?
@@Neesi392see Part 2 of the boys reaction..... The one with Daniel Radcliffe.
I've always loved Norton's show, Miriam is just the perfect personality to compliment him and bring out that extra from almost any other guests they have on. I love how it doesn't simply act as an advertising platform for their next film or project - the 'yeh yeh you have another film coming, now onto the stories..'
Miriam is a friend of mine. She is a priceless gem. I love her to the core!!!
Her timing is perfect and she can tell stories just with her expressions
Omg thank you for this ❤️ The fact that you two get her gives me hope for this world.
No bullshit, just fun! (It's pronounced mar - go - lees)
She is fantastic! And yes she’s a character, but also important to point out that she is a remarkable actress! So it’s not all just show!
Yes considering the tension from the black people at the beginning of the interview with Will I Am. He just totally warms to her and she him. Its adorable, even when he obviously can't believe he made the rain joke, she still beat him with the end of the story.
This is the video of you both i keep coming back to. You're both so genuine and natural - keep ot up! I love how you react and interact with each other. I feel like im sitting in the room with my best friends! Thank you!
I’m watching this back after several viewings over the last couple of years. Never fails to make me laugh and I love how you guys react. ❤
You've been reacting to brilliant stuff over the last few days. Keep up the good work x
