I was listening to an interview with Graham Norton the other day and it was interesting to hear him talk about how even though it's his name on the billboard, once the guest is on the couch, it's his job to make them the best.
The Greg Davies clip just sums up what I love about this show. He's there telling that story to three Hollywood A listers who are killing themselves laughing.
That clip always leaves out a small detail. The reason Ryan Gosling laughs his head off at the "fecal Jackson Pollock" comment is that it's a callback to a story Gosling himself told earlier in the show.
British talk shows, especially Graham Norton, talk & joke about stuff you would NEVER get past the TV police in the States. It's so refreshing, real, and hilarious. If you can watch the whole episodes of when Bill Murray, Matt Damon, and hugh Boniville (the guys from Monument men) were on. Great one. Really whole episodes have so much great content. Also rest of the funny compilations are great, of course, and stories from the big red chair, which he fors at the end of every episode - some are amazing!
I love how the graham Norton show never passively attacks his guests. He just lets people have fun and tell funny stories and he never takes it too far or bring something up that someone’s doesn’t ant to talk about. A genuinely kind, real and funny guy, which you don’t often get in that genre
This is great show, where guests can speak unfiltered and laugh at each other. Graham is hilarious. I find some US talk shows irritating with false friendship and laughter. Jimmy Fallon and James Cordon are so false they make my skin want to leave my bones. Matt Damon, Bill Murray and Hugh Bonneville episode is worth a watch.
The Graham Norton show has no competition. They don't have the restriction we have in the U.S., no commercial breaks and Graham is the most loved host in history. Because it's across the pond it's beyond underrated in the states.

I think Graham Norton hasn’t changed his format a lot, he’s being doing this for years. But the world around him has caught up to this type of chat show. And the names he gets on now have gone up in star quality. But ultimately it’s a simple format, get the stars alcohol, and then steer them with prompts and let them talk. American hosts seem to need to talk as much as the star, here Graham let’s them loose for as long as they want to talk.
one of the AAA guests, Brad Pitt or Matt Damon or one of them, said this is the best talk show he's ever been on, tho the ethanol lube certainly helped his opinion
Great compilation. There's no need to react to full episodes of Graham Norton, *except* for the episode with Bill Murray, Matt Damon, and Hugh Bonneville. They are all really drunk (especially Bill) and it's hilarious. The whole thing is here on RUclips
That whole episode that the Greg Davies clip is from his hilarious 😂 All 4 guests had amazingly funny stories. In fact the "fecal Jackson Pollock" is a reference back to a story that Ryan Gosling tells earlier in the episode...so funny 😁
You two are super guys and I really enjoy watching, so I hope you don’t mind too much if I point out something, something that many many people have done before you (and someone may have already mentioned it in the posts below, but just in case not), Miriam Margolyes’ last name is not pronounced like gargoyles (look again and you’ll see that the l precedes the y in her name, instead of following it). So her name is actually pronounced Mar-go-lees with the stress on mar. And now I’ll shut up🤐
It’s a great show. I love how the American stars are amazed by what they can say/get away with. Cf Michelle Pfeiffer stopping herself from swearing (saying “Damn.” which is barely swearing over here) or Matt Damon sat in amazement listening to the show and eventually saying that it was his favourite ever chat show appearance.
What I love about the Graham Norton show is that it's a guarantee of 45 minutes of happiness. He has no interest in confronting his guests about any controversy, he just wants them to tell their best stories, to bounce of each other and all the while under his considered direction and his often very funny quips. I love the Graham Norton show. The closest you have in America in my opinion is Jimmy Kimmel who can really make me laugh.
I love that the guests are clearly on there to promote stuff, bit the promotion bit has the minimum amount of airtime. It's the interaction between the guests I love. American chatshows seem to allow 5 mins per guest and it's all either promo or inane chit chat of no consequence.
I love Graham Norton, some of his very early shows, when he first started were hilarious, we had seen nothing like it on British TV before..I think if you saw any of them you would be in stitches. but then in England we have had some very funny sitcoms.
i highly recommend reaction to more Graham Norton show bits. He's honestly my favorite talk show host ever, so funny but also super nice and respectful.
I can't believe they kept the Emilia Clarke segment in that compilation but didn't keep the story of Phoebe Walker-Bridge exposing a very intimate part of her to her fellow comedians, from the same show 😂 I just love Graham Norton Show, he gets the best stories out of his guests 😁
I love the Norton Show. We all know they’re there to promote whatever, the celebs included, but it always ends up just feeling like a bunch of friends chatting/having a laugh while relaxing and having a drink (not always alcoholic). Never feels ‘fake’ (besides the promo ‘script’ from the agents etc) and always makes me smile if not laugh :)

I think Graham as a host has a lot to do with the success of the show. Because he is funny and humorous but not in a forced way. It comes naturally which makes the conversation between the guest natural as well
There used to be some very good talk shows in the UK if your old enough to remember them, then we seemed to go through a period of years when they disappeared, when they became popular again Graham Norton was probably the best, he began radio and he's got a good natural interview technique.

Matt Damon declares 'this is the best time I have ever had on a talk show'. They all end up crying laughing at some point. Norton is a genius.
The Graham Norton shows Robbie Williams clips are the next must see, especially the castle story, Seth MacFarlane doing Cyndi lauper covers as Pete and Stewie Griffin is also a must.
It's not just the funny bits, things like Russell Crowe's story about meeting a young Henry Cavill and Kevin Costner's story about his writer friend makes Graham's show first class entertainment, with live music and the red chair at the end being the perfect finishing touch.
Keep the Graham Norton show coming . I know you like to mix it up but there's literally so many clips, compilations and full episodes that you will never run out
Graham Norton is another British Institution. He's been hosting his chat show in various guises for a long time. It's great as like you said he gets some great unguarded stories from his often high profile celebs. I guess it helps that a lot more is allowed here in the UK.

My favourite Norton clips are Stephen Merchant talking about his photo in the papers after The Office winning at the Grammys, and Jack Whitehall cracking up Jennifer Lawrence. I think the flowing alcohol helps the show as a general rule, something I don't think I've ever seen in a US chat show.
Graham Norton has such a relaxed, go-with-the-flow way of presenting talk shows which is greatly refreshing after watching so many, obviously over-scripted US late night shows. Norton has said that his template for a popular chat show host was the legendary Michael Parkinson. "Parky" had his show for 20 yrs. My favourite linups of his were: Michael Caine/Billy Connolly/Pamela Stevenson/REM, and the one with Judy Dench/Peter Kay/Will Young/somebody.
I had to tell my husband when I met him at 40 that he was circumcised. I said oh you’re circumcised. Because it’s still very uncommon except for health or religious reasons in the UK. And the idiot said ‘ am I’. 🤦♀️
I’ve been watching the Graham Norton show for years. Too bad other Americans haven’t discovered him yet. So much more funnier than any American talk show
There is a big difference between American guests on the Graham Norton show and their own chat shows which are very "formulaic", with Graham they actually relax and have some fun, some of the stories they come up with are hilarious and you get to see a glimpse of the real star's personality, rather than the PR image they always hide behind.
Some of the episodes of Graham Norton's show are roll-on-the-floor funny. Hunt down the one with Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Hugh Bonneville, and Paloma Faith. An absolute classic. And if you want to see Greg Davies "alpha male" in full cry, you really need to watch some episodes of Taskmaster!
You should see the Kate Beckinsale talk about pranks when she was on with Matt LeBlanc Emilia Clark and Dominic Cooper- that story is legendary. I strongly suggest you see it.
If you loved Greg Davies, I strongly recommend the compilation of him and Richard Ayoade on the Big Fat Quiz. I dare you to do a try not to laugh on that one!
Just checked out your channel and I love it, especially your "Reaction Videos" of Graham Norton show. The Graham Norton show has gotten me through some bad days and depressing moments. My top 3 so far are: 1) Speed Dating (14 years ago) 2) Bill Murray, Matt Damon, Hugh Bonneville 3) Robin Williams ♥️ and so many more episodes (Steve Carroll, Kristen Wiggs, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Robert Downey Jr etc) I looked forward and excited to see more of your Reaction Videos.
Graham Norton lets the people talk and manages to put them at their ease. Many people simply love appearing as they can be natural and funny. Matt Damon said its the best talk show he has ever been on.
I love the Patrick Stuart episode with Hugh Jackman as Ian McKellen also turns up as a surprise!! But my favourites are always the Judy Dench episodes! The gay club one with Elton John!! Shear magic!!!🥰👍😀
been a fan of mr Norton chat show since the mid 90's; he used to make amazing crank calls with the celeb participating... Ivanka Trump translating when he called a german/dutch adult line. oh if you dont know, YES the drinks on the table in front of the guests are real. as is the wine graham is sipping. the Dukes of Hazzard episode was amazing for the love from the audience, same for many others.
I discovered Graham Norton several years ago. I thought I was the only one in the US who liked him. In any case, I agree that his is the best talk show ever. No one even comes close to being so much fun and hilarious. Excerpts are fun but plenty of whole episodes are great. I loved the shows so much that I looked up every single show I could find on you tube for the older shows. Glad you guys are enjoying this talk show too.
there were a few episode where the stars were obviously pissed, like harison ford and ryan goosling one, billy murray, hugh bonneville and matt damon one aswell..
The one time I went to see the Graham Norton show live, it was this particular episode with Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Ian McKellan. Felt like I'd hit the jackpot!
You need to watch the WHOLE episode with Matt Damon, Bill Murray and Hugh Bonneville. They get absolutely smashed and it’s the funniest tv interview I ever saw
Watch the whole Graham Norton Show episode with Matt Damon, Bill Murray & Hugh Bonneville when they were on to talk about The Monuments Men. They were hiliarious and Matt said it was the best talk show he’s ever been on.
The Graham Norton Show is the best British celebrity interview show of alltime. This show has been on the air in England 15 years as of 2022 and all the big American singers, actors and comedians have gone to London, England to appear on this show. Graham is straight up funny beyond words. But, he is also smart and maintains a good balance between humor and seriousnous on his show. He also protects his guests very well when someone makes a particular guest uncomfortable, even protects guests from other celebrities that may get drunk and start acting stupid on air. Most guests are served some kind of alcohol to loosen them up on this show and he does NOT take commercial breaks. The commercials are added after the show has ended. That is a very smart way to do a show.
You gotta check out the whole Greg Davies compilation on Graham norton as well. He's got the best stories and he's such an amazing storyteller. Incredibly hilarious! (Would've suggested Miriam but I see you've already done that 😁)

The Whitehall story, and the way he tells it, could crack up a zombie. Jennifer was easy pickings.
Love Graham Norton Show its the best out there !! an amazing fun relaxed talk show !!! everyone has a great time !
I literally JUST finished watching your Miriam video - great timing!
The full episode of Jodi Foster, Russel Crowe, Ryan Reynolds and Greg Davies is a great episode. I am a huge Graham Norton fan.
I had to tell my husband when I met him at 40 that he was circumcised. I said oh you’re circumcised. Because it’s still very uncommon except for health or religious reasons in the UK. And the idiot said ‘ am I’. 🤦♀️
Hi! Your comment made me laugh so much!
I’ve been watching the Graham Norton show for years. Too bad other Americans haven’t discovered him yet. So much more funnier than any American talk show
I'm American and I have been watching him for years, I hate American talk shows, it is too filtered and money hungry.
GN, is the best chat show because he actually let's his guests talk, and they tell such funny, real life stories
One of the Irish rower lads grew a whopper beard and won gold in Japan for Ireland rowing with another fella.
I’ve watched that episode several times. It’s great!
12:37 Ryan Gosling had made a fecal Jackson Pollock joke in a story earlier in the show so it was a call back to that 😂
Thanks...
Totally the best. I love it. Everyone’s drunk and having fun and everyone is genuine.
My top 3 so far are:
1) Speed Dating (14 years ago)
2) Bill Murray, Matt Damon, Hugh Bonneville
3) Robin Williams ♥️
and so many more episodes (Steve Carroll, Kristen Wiggs, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Robert Downey Jr etc)
I looked forward and excited to see more of your Reaction Videos.
Graham Norton lets the people talk and manages to put them at their ease. Many people simply love appearing as they can be natural and funny. Matt Damon said its the best talk show he has ever been on.
The Bill Murray, Matt Damon and Hugh Bonneville episode is my all time favorite from the Graham Norton show. Highly recommended!
yas Graham is the best!!!!!!!! love form london uk!
Love Graham Norton show! Thanks o posting this. More people need to discover this.
I love the Patrick Stuart episode with Hugh Jackman as Ian McKellen also turns up as a surprise!! But my favourites are always the Judy Dench episodes! The gay club one with Elton John!! Shear magic!!!🥰👍😀
So glad u have finally discovered graham Norton! He's the best host ever! Having his guests being drunk helps...🔥
been a fan of mr Norton chat show since the mid 90's; he used to make amazing crank calls with the celeb participating... Ivanka Trump translating when he called a german/dutch adult line. oh if you dont know, YES the drinks on the table in front of the guests are real. as is the wine graham is sipping. the Dukes of Hazzard episode was amazing for the love from the audience, same for many others.
I’ve watched Graham on BBC America since he started. Best show forever and always. ♥️
One of my favorite Graham Norton Show clips is when he asks actress Minnie Driver to read out rejected names for gallop horses.
there were a few episode where the stars were obviously pissed, like harison ford and ryan goosling one, billy murray, hugh bonneville and matt damon one aswell..
The one time I went to see the Graham Norton show live, it was this particular episode with Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Ian McKellan. Felt like I'd hit the jackpot!
Graham is a fantastic host. Bright, funny, accommodating.
Adopting this format could be the only thing that could possibly save late night network TV.
I do believe in one moment Matt Damon said "This is the Most Fun I've Ever Had on a Talk Show" and god knows how many US Talk Shows he's done.
Of course, it airs on the BBC here in the UK, so no commercials are added as the BBC is commercial-free.
The BBC has no commercials ?? So how do they make money on the network ??
You gotta check out the whole Greg Davies compilation on Graham norton as well. He's got the best stories and he's such an amazing storyteller. Incredibly hilarious!
(Would've suggested Miriam but I see you've already done that 😁)
