I actually find the part with mushrooms extremely sad, rather than funny. First Luffy says "Oh, these are perfect for times like these." And then he says "I'm laughing, even though I'm all alone." I find that part actually really deep and sad and reflective of real life struggle of some people.
There is a wordplay in Japanese, I don't know if the joke is in English, kintama, means testicles, but it would also be kin=gold and tama=balls, we can say that Luffy has golden balls.
The most One Piece thing I can say is that this will all make sense in about 750 episodes. Enjoy the voyage and judging by your pace we'll see you in FABLE.
I cannot believe you guys manage to recognize that it was Robins VA who VA the character Kikyo when I've been watching this arc for so many years, and I had to search it up on wiki if its true or not after hearing you guys said that it was Robins VA and it IS Hahahaha I feel ashamed :(

A 2 year gap has been present since East Blue ended...it took 2 years for East Blue manga to conclude with Loguetown, while the anime did it in one year, since pacing was very fast back then. Now, The One Piece will have full control over pacing, as they have 25 years of content, like how a Book is complete and ready to be filmed/adapted.
Marguerite, Aphepandra kikyo rindou and the hot skinny girl in the colieseum are more beautiful than hancock. Vivi was always the most beautiful girl in the series, correction!

That is not really a wordplay. The Kanji have this meaning and the compound vocab just means testicles.
