He's actually not that old compared to the standards we're used to at this point. He's 60, that's only 1 year older than Harris. Vance is 40 and Trump is 78 for reference.
It's pretty insufferable when atrioc pays close attention during Walz talking and then laughs and reads chat while Vance is talking so that he can't hear what's being said.
Just a quick point on Atrioc's statement about Chinese energy, we don't get it directly. However, when you import anything from China, you are indirectly importing energy, because Chinese energy was needed to produce those goods. So by outsourcing production to China, you are decreasing American energy demand and increasing Chinese energy demand. Vance said it pretty poorly, but that is the anti-China argument that Vance was attempting to say.
Vance also said that economists lied when they said we would get cheaper goods by importing from China. We do get cheaper goods, but at the cost of quality and nondomestic energy use. If he really meant to say that imported goods equates to imported power, then he was double dipping and his argument was in bad faith.
I’m just gonna dump some EIA data and back of napkin calculations (some of the numbers were in barrels per day) about 1.7 trillion (10^12) BTU’s we produce daily goes to china. On a yearly basis, 635 trillion (10^12) BTU’s. We internally produce 102.82 quadrillion (10^15) BTU’s a year. We consume 93.59 quadrillion (10^15) BTU’s a year. We export 29.5 quadrillion (10^15) BTU’s yearly. We import 21.7 quadrillion (10^15) BTU’s yearly. Assuming these barrels are the only energy we export, china makes up about 2% of our crude oil exports.

Once I saw that I decided to stop watching the video. I'm interested in seeing real reaction from someone considering both sides, even if they lean one way over the other, but if you're just going to show the portions you think one side look bad and cut the rest out it makes it rather uninteresting. This was a great and respectful debate, both sides made it clear they don't agree with each other, though it was obviously "politicy" in the sense they only talk about the positives (or what they believe as positives) of their policies and avoid the possible "growing pains" of the policy's but that's to be expected, they are trying to get votes and talking about how your policys may not be immediately noticeable or might need to change over time to work better doesnt get people "hyped", but overall i think this was a good debate they were respectful and avoided personal attacks, even though I believe not many people are going to be swayed to either side, the people who already support their party will feel more confident in their choice but will sway some people who maybe just didn't fully know the policy's and how it will help or hurt them, I think this debate was very helpful for that and will help people make a more informed decision about who they vote for, I think having debates like this much more often can help Americans find a common ground and allow them to have a more civilized dialog, and I think what we really need right now is for people to be able to talk to each other and empathize with how other people feel and why they might feel that way while respectfully trying to tell them why they think their candidate is better for America, I honestly think Vance would be a much better option for the Republicans especially without needing to support Trump or his policy's and many (but not all) controversial trump policy's would be completely dropped and compromise between both party's would be much easier, although I may not support the policy's I wouldn't be scared to exist, my view is that trump gave a voice to fringe groups (which isn't a bad thing) but the many of the groups he decided to give a voice are those of hate and helped normalize this hate (and hateful people can be very passionate which in turn can help embolden others people passion either for or against which causes divide) being passionate isn't a bad thing but it is when it comes from hate and that goes on both sides and it just keeps a cycle of division between people who aren't willing to listen to each other and division grows and grows making it even harder, but as of right now the situation in America is trump is a legitimate threat to democracy and should not have any power the sooner America realizes this the better and the sooner they can return to a civilized discussion, I'm not American so I have no horse in this race but I still care about the people affected and their happiness because people deserve to feel ok and safe in their country and I can try to put myself in their shoes and empathize with their struggles As of right now I would never support the republican PARTY due to their policy's (even non trump ones) even if there may be 1 or 2 that I think could be good for America the overall benifit would be highly outweighed by what I consider unacceptable drawbacks as it just doesn't match my beliefs And the Democrat PARTY also has policy's I disagree with but none I can think of (or know of) that will actively make me feel in danger and have many that would make me feel more secure (physically, economically, mentally, etc) If trump wins I will not be visiting America for his time in office (and any time that alot of his policy's are active) and canceling my trip as I would feel genuinely unsafe in a country where trump and some of his supporters (in my original I just said "trump supporters" not some I wasn't corrected in this but realized I wrote it and realized I was being hypocritical myself sorry for generalizing and sorry if i may have been rude) are the voice of the country where they would feel alot more safe or emboldened and in the right to assault me (verbally or physically) just for existing around them, I'm a normal person who goes to work, likely watches some of the same shows as you, loves their mom as most people do, has interests and hobbies maybe the same as yours, I want to talk about why we disagree and maybe some of the problems and mistrust we have with each other are just due to misunderstanding each other and having a one on one conversation without pressure from a whole group, and it's OK to be wrong and it's OK to admit it, because the sooner someone admits they're wrong the less it hurts them and others, and if someone does admit they're wrong don't make fun of them for it appreciate them for changing because it is so much harder to change than it is to stay with what is comfortable/familiar, but if we are not willing to change we will never be able to progress and will just stay fighting each other, if we can unite we can get so much done, even if we don't agree on everything the things we do agree on can be great for all of us and the more we work together the more we will work together in the future and be willing to help eachother even more If anyone wants to talk about what we may disagree about I promise to hear you out and actually consider your point and view while giving my reasons why I may agree or disagree respectfully, name calling will not get us anywhere and will just cause us to be less willing to talk in a civilized manner, and though some people might not be there yet (on all sides not just one) the more we show a willingness to actually have a civilized talk the more convinced they may be to talk to you, keep showing you are trying to talk to them And also please try not to generalize people into their party's, I try not too but may have done so and if i did I am sorry and will genuinely try to change my thinking and please kindly point out what I said and I will change it not out of pride but out of a genuine want to change my thinking I will even keep the original words with an ammendment next to it explaining I was wrong so people can still see that I was wrong and that I did say what I said, I am willing to show I was wrong and I hope you are willing to see that I am trying to genuinely be better and change, and remember people are hypocritical all the time but being willing to see that fault and kindly telling someone or being open to realizing that you may have been hypocritical is a good start to being a better person, and if someone can't accept that don't attack them but keep trying to show them you are trying to be better

Maybe it was him elaborating on something he spoke about.
He's specifying the difference between blaming migrants themselves and the actions being taken
He wasn't blaming immigrants for higher housing prices. He was blaming the current administrations placement of the current migrants and their lack of (illegal) immigration prevention.

I used to live in Switzerland as well and loved it! But the countries are so different from each other and cant be treated as the same. Like military service is required from all men where you are issued a gun. A lot of men keep their service weapons but not for a personal use.
This makes sense, thank you.
Vance also said that economists lied when they said we would get cheaper goods by importing from China. We do get cheaper goods, but at the cost of quality and nondomestic energy use. If he really meant to say that imported goods equates to imported power, then he was double dipping and his argument was in bad faith.
I’m just gonna dump some EIA data and back of napkin calculations (some of the numbers were in barrels per day)
about 1.7 trillion (10^12) BTU’s we produce daily goes to china.

This was a great and respectful debate, both sides made it clear they don't agree with each other, though it was obviously "politicy" in the sense they only talk about the positives (or what they believe as positives) of their policies and avoid the possible "growing pains" of the policy's but that's to be expected, they are trying to get votes and talking about how your policys may not be immediately noticeable or might need to change over time to work better doesnt get people "hyped", but overall i think this was a good debate they were respectful and avoided personal attacks, even though I believe not many people are going to be swayed to either side, the people who already support their party will feel more confident in their choice but will sway some people who maybe just didn't fully know the policy's and how it will help or hurt them, I think this debate was very helpful for that and will help people make a more informed decision about who they vote for, I think having debates like this much more often can help Americans find a common ground and allow them to have a more civilized dialog, and I think what we really need right now is for people to be able to talk to each other and empathize with how other people feel and why they might feel that way while respectfully trying to tell them why they think their candidate is better for America, I honestly think Vance would be a much better option for the Republicans especially without needing to support Trump or his policy's and many (but not all) controversial trump policy's would be completely dropped and compromise between both party's would be much easier, although I may not support the policy's I wouldn't be scared to exist, my view is that trump gave a voice to fringe groups (which isn't a bad thing) but the many of the groups he decided to give a voice are those of hate and helped normalize this hate (and hateful people can be very passionate which in turn can help embolden others people passion either for or against which causes divide) being passionate isn't a bad thing but it is when it comes from hate and that goes on both sides and it just keeps a cycle of division between people who aren't willing to listen to each other and division grows and grows making it even harder, but as of right now the situation in America is trump is a legitimate threat to democracy and should not have any power the sooner America realizes this the better and the sooner they can return to a civilized discussion, I'm not American so I have no horse in this race but I still care about the people affected and their happiness because people deserve to feel ok and safe in their country and I can try to put myself in their shoes and empathize with their struggles
As of right now I would never support the republican PARTY due to their policy's (even non trump ones) even if there may be 1 or 2 that I think could be good for America the overall benifit would be highly outweighed by what I consider unacceptable drawbacks as it just doesn't match my beliefs
And the Democrat PARTY also has policy's I disagree with but none I can think of (or know of) that will actively make me feel in danger and have many that would make me feel more secure (physically, economically, mentally, etc)
If trump wins I will not be visiting America for his time in office (and any time that alot of his policy's are active) and canceling my trip as I would feel genuinely unsafe in a country where trump and some of his supporters (in my original I just said "trump supporters" not some I wasn't corrected in this but realized I wrote it and realized I was being hypocritical myself sorry for generalizing and sorry if i may have been rude) are the voice of the country where they would feel alot more safe or emboldened and in the right to assault me (verbally or physically) just for existing around them, I'm a normal person who goes to work, likely watches some of the same shows as you, loves their mom as most people do, has interests and hobbies maybe the same as yours, I want to talk about why we disagree and maybe some of the problems and mistrust we have with each other are just due to misunderstanding each other and having a one on one conversation without pressure from a whole group, and it's OK to be wrong and it's OK to admit it, because the sooner someone admits they're wrong the less it hurts them and others, and if someone does admit they're wrong don't make fun of them for it appreciate them for changing because it is so much harder to change than it is to stay with what is comfortable/familiar, but if we are not willing to change we will never be able to progress and will just stay fighting each other, if we can unite we can get so much done, even if we don't agree on everything the things we do agree on can be great for all of us and the more we work together the more we will work together in the future and be willing to help eachother even more
If anyone wants to talk about what we may disagree about I promise to hear you out and actually consider your point and view while giving my reasons why I may agree or disagree respectfully, name calling will not get us anywhere and will just cause us to be less willing to talk in a civilized manner, and though some people might not be there yet (on all sides not just one) the more we show a willingness to actually have a civilized talk the more convinced they may be to talk to you, keep showing you are trying to talk to them
And also please try not to generalize people into their party's, I try not too but may have done so and if i did I am sorry and will genuinely try to change my thinking and please kindly point out what I said and I will change it not out of pride but out of a genuine want to change my thinking I will even keep the original words with an ammendment next to it explaining I was wrong so people can still see that I was wrong and that I did say what I said, I am willing to show I was wrong and I hope you are willing to see that I am trying to genuinely be better and change, and remember people are hypocritical all the time but being willing to see that fault and kindly telling someone or being open to realizing that you may have been hypocritical is a good start to being a better person, and if someone can't accept that don't attack them but keep trying to show them you are trying to be better

Anybody and everybody voting for Kamala is strictly speaking a good thing.
That's such a gross thing to say. Especially saying it's an outright "good thing"
She's weak.
She's a liar.
She's stupid.
She's literally everything Trump is, but packaged in a way you like. Look at her glitch when the teleprompter breaks @@TheMrTangamandapio
Waltz cooked Vance throughout but Vance killed the closing statements
Huh lmao
Waltz, pass me that blunt!
Oh yes. We have to make the doors lock BETTER?! That’ll stop the gun violence for sure.
Like a minute in and atrioc is already going off about stuff he has no idea about soooooo confidently. It's so frustrating lmao
haven't watched yet but i'm hoping tim walz announces silksong
Also Vance always looks like he’s wearing eyeliner
Need. More. Guyliner. Lookin like a 2007 Pete Wentz.
He's got a dark and mysterious side dude used to be an emo
Atrioc every time Walz opens his mouth: 🤔🤔🤔…. Good answer
this election would be way better if it was these two running for president
can we get the googly eye guy to run for president and have kamala be VP? that dude seems to actually care
holy cow, these guys make the presidential candidates sound senile at best, can we get Tim president and Lina Khan vice, that would be perfect
yo this was fire
3:23 atrioc being speechless at what Tim Walz is saying made my day.
Debate the debate
The amount of salty Republicans finding out their favorite streamer is politically biased in the other direction is incredibly funny.
I know he has so many videos and vods showing his side and yet this is the video that people get mad at.
Well it’s just in this video it’s hella obvious, unlike in some previous one he’s a bit more balanced.
As if you wouldn't cry the moment you see a conservative person
It's more annoying to me seeing Atrioc cosplay like he is apart of the same class as the majority of people watching his videos. The former director of marketing at Nvidia and 3500 subs on twitch. He is in a different tax bracket than you. His interests in regards to a lot of different policies are inherently going to be different
thank god its out, big A sounds like a printer in the VOD when hes thinking or looking for chat messages
Am I the only one who thinks the VPs are more competent than the actual nominees
Yep, definitely it's only you on the whole word, crazy right?
Why do I like each of them more as a presidents then the two in the actual presidental election...
Glizzy Vance vs Glizzy Walz
Glizz Y Vance vs Tim Glizz
You are the unfunniest man I have ever met.
i dead ass was like is it not how you spell polls
The couch clapper saying he wasnt supposed to fact check them was so fucking funny
The rules were that the moderators couldn’t fact check. The moderators did fact check and their check was FALSE. Vance explained his statement and you would know this if u watched the debate
I thought it was funny when Kamala had to ask for a shorter stand, so she didn’t seem small compared to trump 😂
@@jackquack25 He called Haitians in Ohio illegals and they were not, they were there legally as part of the asylum process. He lied. It's very straight forward.
Couch clapper!?
"I thought you weren't going to fact check" is the most telling thing I've ever seen in my entire life.
Ellaborate
@@danielcillie1856 There's a good faith and bad faith interpretation and depending who you're voting for is how you'll interpret a lot of what hese candidates say.
This is what a debate looks like without Trump
kamala was the bigger problem in the presidential debate.. lol
@kylezammit1868 let me guess, you were like this
"👉😁👈" the entire presidential debate if you didn't hear Trumps deranged ramblings
@@kylezammit1868 Of course you think she was the problem. You sound like the type to hear a smoke detector and think it's the problem, and not the fire burning downstairs.
@kylezammit1868 Have you heard any other debate where Trump is involved that ACTUALLY talks meaningful policy?
It's not Harris, dude. He's always been a blow hard who talks a big game.
Pole shifter bar at the end is absolutely insane. Definitely came from a dark and cerebral perspective. arm💪
Gonna go ahead and say that a debate where the FIRST question(which has been cut out) was asking if these two would endorse a preemptive nuclear strike on Iran, was not at all good.
Absolutely nightmarish state of political discourse in America.
israel glaze-off is a mandatory part of all political debates, they don't make the rules
Crazy that like, most debates were like this before Trump lmao
Just reacting to the first clip: JD Vance makes a good argument. The "weird science" stuff is crap, but the point about importing from China. Global trade is the enemy of environmentalism. Shipping and flying both have massive carbon footprints, and are virtually impossible to make clean with today's technology. Importing energy is less of an issue, except that we shouldn't be using gas powered cars no matter where the gas comes from.
btw I'm Harris 2024 if it isn't clear
We should stop importing energy from the world and start importing Chinese EVs cus they r so fucking cheap
Well I hope you are ready to completely change your lifestyle then, because your current one is not possible without global trade.
I always watch these, and during or after, I think to myself, "I should watch the full debate and other reactions too."
But I never do 😂
Hey, at least I'm watching SOME of the debates compared to before I was an Atrioc viewer
Debate 2 came before gta6
