There is a delay between the live phone call the the TV broadcast so she wouldn't have seen it the second it happened if she were watching her TV. All she would've heard was a slight thud maybe in the background. It was clearly someone that was watching the production in the studio, who the fuck calls in to tell people their neighbors are getting hardons over here telescopic ladder anyway?
