It doesn’t fluctuate job to job but it does change slightly as your company grows. But for most people it should be 50/50…. 50% of the job (at the most) goes to materials and labor cost.
@@PaintingBusinessProI’m having trouble finding quality subs that are satisfied with 50%, most want to charge near what I’m already charging.. any advice?
my problem is I am a great painter and crackfiller with alot of great clients, however I cannot find good workers here in my area. By the hour or subcontrators.
Is it possible to begin a paint business already removed from painting? Or is the on the job painting an indispensable part of bulding and scaling a painting business?
We post ads and network until we find a good crew. You have to be offering something that a good crew wants (if you want to find a good crew). That’s where a lot of people mess up

What's the percentage you take before giving the rest to subs? I assume it may fluctuate some.

How can we raise pricing and improve salesmanship if we submit commercial bids sometimes sealed bids?
What about bookeeping? Stuff drives me insane

Also gold.

How to find a decent subcontractor though who's willing to do it for the price you're offering to pay him and make a profit.
