I was the Domino Artist they hired to build the domino setups (like at 0:04-0:12) and let me tell you, this was the most AMAZING experience being part of the movie!!! The trailer looks SOO good I absolutely cannot wait to see it when it comes out in December! It's such an amazing feeling to see my domino art make it to Hollywood :)

    • @sourceofjess

danyellwar77 the movie was great. Anybody who's saying it was horrible or that the trailer was deceptive either didn't watch to the very end or just didn't get the deeper meaning.

    • @DemizeCOMP

danyellwar77 the movie is very good. It heavily relies on people being able to emphasise with the main characters to fully understand the message of the movie.

I just came back from seeing this movie and when I tell you, this is one of those movies you have to "pay attention" to, and will get messed up in the end and you will, even if it's inside, you will tear up without question... so prepare.
This is one of the best movies I've seen in awhile and honestly, I wish it was a bit longer but I'm glad for it existing at all. This movie will definitely make you reflect.
How in the hell did the critics pan this film is beyond me... I dont think they watch the same films as the audiences do.

    • @naomie4050

PromotingTheBeat I completely agree. The critics and all these negative reviews make me so mad. What did they watch, it's like they must've been distracted the whole time or something! This movie has so much depth, makes you think, and yes you have to pay attention to get all the connections, but that makes it interesting and thought provoking! It was so beautiful. Also one of the best films I've seen in a while

    Collateral Beauty
    (True Beauty)
    There is collateral beauty everywhere,
the beauty is in where you find it.
Rare is a time that you find yourself,
    fractured from some event.
    Unable to regain,
    the peace you had before.
    Everything in your life seemingly,
    getting harder to handle anymore.
    But if you stop,
just for one moment in time.
Everything you see is still okay,
    and you are truly fine.
    All is not really lost,
you just had to find your way back.
    Unbeknownst to you,
God was picking up the slack.
    There was never,
    time to fear.
    You should have known,
    God was always here.
    ~ Serena A Hibbard

Great concept though, but I think the plot is easily guessable. Those are in reality actual people, just set up to act a role from each of his letters by his friends to be a sort of therapy fort him. Maybe he knows, maybe he doesn't but I bet his friends will be pretending that they don't see the time, death, etc personalities.

Most people were complaining about the trailer being misleading but I didn't see the trailer prior to watching the movie. We chose this movie at the theatre. But if you ignore the preview, and just watch, you'll most likely enjoy it.

A friend invited me to a movie and we almost saw this, but I had read negative reviews, so we passed and so saw something else, something forgettable. Later, I saw this on an airplane, and fell in love with this movie. It has outstanding performances, and a very layered telling of the story. There's a lot going on that they don't spell out for you, and so this movie has stayed with me, and I keep coming back to it, and every time I watch it, I notice something I hadn't noticed before.

explain how. The entire plot of Christmas Story was to teach Scrooge not to be selfish. This movie is about dealing with grief. Completely different plots. Do all movies that use "non-human" characters as guides remind you of Christmas Story? Because it's actually a very common theme in films. Besides, I could be wrong but I believe the guides in this film are actually human actors hired by the main characters friends. So, really really different actually.

    • @Sean_Re

+Sean Reeves I mean Christmas Carol. duh

    • @stevefrench4139

A Christmas Carol was about a man (Scrooge) who has been visited by three spirits representing time.....the past, present, and future. Through their interactions with Scrooge, they change him in a positive way.
This movie is about a man (Howard Inlet) who suffers from the loss of his daughter. Three spirits representing death, time, and love visit him and I think it's safe to assume will change him in a positive way also.
Now being selfish and being in grief are two separate things, but these are both character traits that hinder their respective characters from a better life...and both of which only gets resolved after their interactions with the three spirits.
"I could be wrong but I believe the guides in this film are actually human actors hired by the main characters friends"
This most likely seems to be what is going to happen, the storyline for this in IMBD says ..... "his colleagues devise a drastic plan to force him to confront his grief" The scene in this trailer at :40 seconds is where they devise it.

I don't know why but when Keira Knightley appears as Love, it makes me tear up and I almost always cry (like a full cry lol). She really is kind of perfect to play "love", but its so weird because it's something I would never think about at all. It looks like it could be that there are people that are playing along trying to help him or that it is all in his head and he is actually having a mental breakdown. I hope there is some sort of actual supernatural element to this movie where things such as death, time, and love are beings like gods or something and they were somehow summoned by Will Smith. Those gods should also have both human and non-human forms they can take for dramatic effect when they are first shown. Also when summoning death, time, and love, he summons other things which are causing destruction around the world (or at least the city he lives) that he has to find and destroy using the power of love, time, and death. If this is not how the movie is going to be, this seems like it will be airing on Lifetime in about two years.

think more scrooge....as a matter of fact. this is scrooge, they just changed up the story a little. so now the greedy scrooge who hates Christmas is a grieving dad who hates life. instead of being visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future...he gets visited by Time, Death and Love. it also just so happens to take place in Christmas. so yeah think more along the lines of scrooge. or I could be wrong and its just people playing a role as therapy. that would suck and I would hate this movie.

The title is lame but the the story and acting look great. It reminds me a little of Seven Pounds just with a different spin to it and that was a fantastic movie (seriously, watch it if you haven't already).

A VERY good movie that you don't really ever hear people talking about with some BRILLIANT acting to boot.

Even though I think this movie has a beautiful and interesting premise and I'm seriously looking forward to seeing it, I still gotta say, I HATE the line "kids write letters to Santa, that doesn't mean they're crazy." It's vapid. Kids don't write to Santa as a way of coping with their grief, Howard isn't a six year old obeying his parent's esoteric rules of gift-receiving. I hope the other characters roll their eyes at that guy.

I'm not embarrassed. Dialogue matters. What do you think that line is supposed to mean?

indeed the line could have been presented with a better delivery

some one made a Will Smith movie without aliens, Comic Books, Margot Robbie, one of his kids or a fake African accent? How was this possible?

I'm excited for the movie, seems rather enthralling, I won't judge until I watch it. But I guarantee that a fair amount of people that are enlightened by the music within the Trailers have only recently been exposed to Thomas J. Bergersen's epic work. It's about time "Remember Me" gained the spotlight, my personal favorite, the only other place I've heard it put into action is in AMVs. But it's ironic since I've been utterly obsessed with this song in particular for years now, so hearing it being used like this made the nostalgia skyrocket. Illusions was an unforgettable album. Hopefully this use of it will assist in those songs getting more recognition, the kind they deserve.
