Driving The Toyota Raize G on the Highway! [Drive Review]
The 2022 Toyota Raize G does not have a turbo engine, so we wonder if it can drive fast on the highway. The 2022 Toyota Raize G is also the first Toyota to be equipped with the DCVT transmission, which I also wanted to test out. In this Filipino car review, I take the 2022 Toyota Raize G out for a drive on the highway to see if it can go up to triple digit speeds. The result? The 2022 Toyota Raize G can do it, but it takes time to build up speed. The DCVT transmission makes loud engine noises but does not translate to speed. There is a noticeable delay in the 2022 Toyota Raize G as the transmission struggles to catch up to throttle input. The 2022 Toyota Raize G is tuned more for city driving, hence the torque is accessible in the low end, but loses its breath in the top end. The 2022 Toyota Raize turbo would likely have the same performance, despite the turbo, since power delivery boils down to the transmission tuning. The all-new Toyota Avanza also has the same transmission, so it should do well pulling at low speeds but would have a hard time building up speed at the top end.
