Bought the turbo a month ago. To those contemplating on buying, I can really say it is money well spent. If you can stretch your budget a little bit then do your self a favor and go for the turbo. I would like to add that the driver's seat on the turbo can be height adjusted (manually) and there is the power mode and sport mode("manual") for the turbo, both of which performs a bit differently from just using the automatic drive mode. I have tried all modes on a long ride with long and some extremely inclined uphill climbs (4 passengers including driver) and the car performed beyond my expectations, no hesitation at all. The turbo unit doesn't necessarily turn on all the time so the car can essentially be driven as if it was only a 1.0L but almost has the power of a 1.5L engine available when needed. Great review as always.

@@binSs18Me as driver, 1 adult at front passenger side, 1 adult and 1 child (8y.o.) at the rear seats. No heavy or significant cargo onboard. Not necessarily at full capacity. I have tried carrying 4 adults at the rear and 1 adult at the front at city driving conditions and personally I have not noticed any sharp drop in performance to really say that the car struggled. There was more than enough power available when needed.

Ngl, Caco already nailed the review from the start 😆
On a more serious note, this is one hell of a detailed review. There is much more commentary which some would hate but I absolutely love, made the review feel more natural. How Caco really tested the two vehicles is commendable, the effort the whole team, Jack and the others included. Again, showed the pros and definitely the honest cons that most people and reviews hide away from the public.
Another job well and spectacularly done by the AD team, no doubt the channel I trust the most as of this moment.

Yeah. If we stick to what the cars were originally designed for, the NA version is the more appropriate fit. Personally, I would go Turbo if I'm a person who travels in and out of Manila via tollway or skyway. But if you live within Metro Manila and travel mostly within it, the NA would be more beneficial because of fuel economy.

Plus points too,.Is those two-toe wheels! Na dagdag pogi points or ganda points narin
As for the latter the red ♥️ pill (the G) duon,.Sa wheels niya ay muhkang basic narin

I will be commuting from the city to our farm and a small portion of our commute will be on a questionably managed gravel road. I wanted the larger R17 tires and higher ground clearance of the Raize (8 in) to deal with imperfect roads. Also we have limited space for parking in the city so a Conquest 4 x 4 was not a consideration. So the Raize is a good compromise for us and ~ 1M was my max budget.
My wife and I really liked the additional safety features that come with the turbo (BSM, RCTA, rear passenger airbags). She usually challenges me for every peso and I was expecting her to insist on the cheapest model but she was all in on the more expensive turbo. They only have a yellow turbo on the floor now but I expect to order Turquoise blue turbo this week.
Edit: I agree with the author that it would have noteworthy to have rear passenger vents for aircon - this is the Philippines. Our tester forgot to use his paddle-shifters and manually shift on steep slopes 😁

I'm confused. How many variants does the Raize have? If there is a "top of the line naturally aspirated" and a "top of the line turbo", so are there variants below EACH of them?
Anyway, I think for 125k, you get more airbags (God forbid you don't use them), a slightly bigger screen, front sensors (not needed much as back sensors make more sense), and a little bit of power. Is it worth it? For a small crossover, maybe not.
But hey, it comes down to personal preference. Great review again, team! Cheers!

The Raize has 4 variants with two engines available. The 1.0 Turbo is the top of the line of the ENTIRE model range but the 1.2 G CVT is the highest spec available for the 1.2 engine models. This then makes the 1.2 G CVT the top of the line variant for the naturally aspirated 1.2 engines as there is the E CVT and E MT under it.

One question though (I don't think you've mentioned and conscious of), did you use the Raize's "S" (from the manual, they termed it Slope - NOT Sports) mode with the "Power" button on the steering wheels?

    • @summercalva9484
      @summercalva9484 Год назад +1

Honda City is definitely the better car. The engine itself is already proven even since the 1st model of the city series. The Resale value is also very high because of it's engine - not to mention it's safety features and spacious interior
The advantage of Raize is that it has a 200mm ground clearance which is definitely a thing to consider if you always pass on a rough and bumpy road or a flood prone road
Honda City is more for the "City" drive so in short, City for the superb engine and if you are inclined with cruising spiritedly and go for Raize if if you are fine with adequate speed and if you need that high ground clearance 😊

I guess my money would be on the NA Raize rather than the turbo... despite a few downgrade in trim and safety devices, it's more economical to run and maintain than the trubo... I can handle the few compromises the NA carries over the turbo... P124,000 off is still a big chunk of change to save...

Honda is releasing the new WR-V in Indonesia this November. It's suppose to be a direct competitor to the Raize, albeit more expensive. It will be powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC, same as in the new City.

    • @lucky889s9

Too expensive. Honda is too over confident with prices. Base wrv model E, is more expensive than Raize G CVT, which is terrible value for money. Even Kia Sonet TOTL is much better value for money
