With respect to the D-CVT gearbox, in the 16:17 minute it is observed how after starting, between 15-20km/h, the lock up clutch of the torque converter is activated, locking the drive shaft with the engine, improving the efficiency of the transmission and eliminating the power loss of the torque converter.
This is a refreshing honest review. Most of the reviewers here in Cambodia talking about the Raize are all sponsored by Toyota soo this is much appreciated

Btw off topic, may i ask if PPF branded tints are legit and what mags+tires would be perfect for the raize?
Thank you for the kind words. I think if you are going for tint, go wti h a reputable tint brand. If you are going with PPF for the benefits that it gives, go with a reputable PPF brand. That's the way I see it. :)

Nice review. Is there usb port around backseat area? Also is there a Raize substitute to the turbo that has engine guard underneath and still able to not let out heat somehow. I really want to change vehicle and get a Raize for its 1L engine to save on price of gas.
The D-CVT actually has the real gear as the last gear to increases the efficientcy in high speed. This is a daihatsu DCVT which differs from toyota DCVT.
NOT TO CONFUSE about this dcvt terms. It is DUAL CVT BY DAIHATSU, NOT A DIRECT SHIFT TOYOTA'S CVT. contrary to toyota's direct shift cvt which has FIX LAUNCH GEAR, Daihatsu Dcvt has FIX TOP GEAR ON TOP GEAR only!
The lack of undercarriage cover is a mere cost-cutting design for Daihatsu. Sucks that they cheaped out on that. Cats/Rats would have an easier time climbing up your engine bay.

Does it have any body roll when changing lanes at high speed and when making a quick turn? Im thinking it would because of its body structure and high ground clearance...
Those are two totally different cars. I'd love to help you decide but you'd have to let me know what kinda lifestyle you have in terms of traveling/driving/cars. 🤣 My lifestyle may not be the same as you kasi so I need to know yours.
@@FranzGaw I’m looking for something that is more relax and smooth to drive. I’m more engaged into City Drive so I guess based on your review Raize is that type of car, but I read some reviews that there is a lot of vibration at 100kmph so it is raising some concerns for me. On the other hand Brio is much cheaper and also has a great performance.
If relaxed and smooth driving is your priority, then by all means Raize. Mataas ground clearance, soft suspension, and ergonomics sa driver's seat is very relaxed and casual. No need to worry about potholes or kung sasayad. Yung Brio is the opposite with its sporty vibe and fun character. Both cars are good in their own way and they each suit a specific type of driver/owner.

How's the driving experience and fuel economy in driving the raize uphill? Difficult? Too long to build enough power to climb? Does it go really slow when climbing?
Anyone who says the Raize Turbo can't go uphills is WRONG. We actually tried fitting 6 passengers in the car with me driving and it didn't even complain. The Raize Turbo has plenty of torque especially in low rpms so it is never a problem.
a bit pricey compare to other crossover brands like stonic or tiggo 2 pro. but i really like the looks outside. uts perfect. hopefully they make it a bit cheaper
Hello Franz, I am torn between getting either Toyota Raize or Honda City Sedan or Hatch. I like the form factor of Raize, I feel like it has more versatility. However the fit and finish of a Honda Vehicle far exceeds this current generation of the Raize. I am also worried about Raize's performance on longer highway drives given that it only has 3cyl engine. I am also a newbie driver and it's my first car. I would like to get your advice please!
The Raize is definitely the better all arounder but the City is more sporty for sure in terms of driving feel. The Raize's 3 cylinder turbo engine actually has more torque than the City's engine. It will do a lot better when both cars are filled with passengers and luggage. At the end of the day both cars are great. You just need to weigh your priorities and what you look for in a car, and thats where your decision will be made.
