More ram doesn't make it "twice as fast".. It simply gives you more space to run more things at once. The best analogy I use to explain this to people is a library: The book shelves are your HDD or SSD memory. They hold all your files, programs and apps, etc... Your RAM is like a table or desk. You can start pulling books off of the shelf, but you can only lay so many of them on the desk at once. When you upgrade your RAM-- you are simply adding a bigger table to work on, so you can have more "books laying out at once while you work.... So when you're doing so many things that your RAM is full, it will just flat out stop working and be super glitchy. So this extra ram just takes you from: not working at all- back to normal, just with more things happening at once.
I've spent the last two months trying to find the right Ram for my computer and how to install it, and today I found this video and the right ram I need. Thank you.
Thanks! Just upgraded a Pavilion exactly like the one you show. Would have never figured out prying the shell apart without your video!! All went well and it’s back up and running.
My daughter got this computer and it is really slow, thank you so much for doing this video, I am ordering the memory now and will upgrade her system a little. I love you man!
I have an hp 15-bs234wm, i did upgraded the ram from 4gb to 8gb but whem trying to turn it on it doesn't boot, the screen stays black and the caps lock button is blinking, any info on what could it be?? This is the ram o bought on amazon: Crucial RAM 8GB DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Laptop Memory CT8G4SFRA32A
I know you keep saying entry level but for what I paid for it it wasn’t very entry. Just followed your video. I think it worked idk soon as I turned it in. It says installing updates
Does this laptop only take one RAM stick or can it take two? I've seen where it supposedly supports 16GB, but is that two 8GB sticks of RAM or one 16GB?
To remove just the DVD drive, it's just two screws? 8 GB is the max RAM the laptop can support? Found a tossed out HP laptop similar to yours. System works, has Win 10, Celeron 😴1.1... but the DVD drive doesn't want to open!
Ive already tried, however it is micro-soldered to the motherboard, and you would need tools and machines worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to do it. sorry dude.
@@daybreakindustries thanks for this, my girlfriend went and bought one without asking me first haha so we're upgrading, so awesome to find a video with the exact model and answers
@@TheSpaceninjas Same.. She bought some trash. lol.. I have an old amd quad core from like 2008 that works way better than this thing. I'm shocked at just how terrible it actually is.

I think the ram is 2400Mhz laptop memory
Can I still change the CPU in 2023?
so, it only has one slot to upgrade the ram not 2?

I had a similar issues on an older laptop I had. to change the dvd drive is easy too.
@@daybreakindustries as a kind of hobby, I look for electronics in dumpsters and curbside stuff!
Anyone complaining it’s slow. I’d upgrade to an ssd before I upgrade the ram because the ssd would make it faster than only ram.
How do you upgrade the ssd?
i have this same laptop why is there no fan how does it cool?
it throttles. lol. that's why it's so slow.
Do you know if there’s any way I can upgrade the processor?
I am not sure if the processor can be upgraded on this model
Ive already tried, however it is micro-soldered to the motherboard, and you would need tools and machines worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to do it. sorry dude.
Did it work better?
Yes it did . Much quicker
Can you upgrade the drive to an ssd?
You should be able to .
@@daybreakindustries thank you
where can I find the ram stick?
I got that one at BestBuy
Can it handle 16gb of ram?
Yes it can. The Computer works so much more efficient. I used Crucial.com to find out the max amount.

The Specs are 8 Gb DDR4 260 pin
you can buy

There are other factors like MMTS and single rank or not single rank. Do those make a significant difference?
