Right? Something’s wrong with my HP laptop’s hard drive, and I didn’t think I would need to be drilling the back of my laptop to fix it! HAHA, but I’ll see if there’s legit any other alternatives that I can do, this is too complicated for me.
Dude you rock! My wife owns a very similar laptop and we wanted to swap to an SSD but I couldn't figure out how to get the back cover off. Your video helped me the whole way! I can't thank you enough.
Very good guide. One word of precaution. Be very careful when taking the bottom casing off near the hinge. When we did it some small plastic broke off and a "rivet" holding the hinge broke causing the hinge to detach. P.S. The Acronis Clone tool that Crucial recommends doesn't clone a larger drive to a smaller one. We used the one by MiniTool-Partition Wizard instead and it worked.
Thanks for uploading this. I had zero experience with replacing a laptop's hard drive and this video got me through the process quickly and painlessly.
Thank you for the video. Just upgraded my HP to 500GB SSD. I use this laptop every day for work. It performs better than it did new. I appreciate you taking the time to help me do this at home.
Thankyou, this video helped me upgrade my similar old hp 15-ac021tx 1TB HDD to a 500Gb Samsung 860 Evo. Also followed your video on cloning the drive. Works so much better now. Many thanks. Wish I'd dive it years ago. I used a guitar pick to help pry off the back, but did break a couple of the clips. Moral of the story, take your time.
Well done video. In my case I was upgrading the mechanical drive to a SSD by cloning the original drive. Finding those screws under the rubber feet that is funny that HP does that. Wow. Thank you for the detail and the detail very good video.
Thanks for the quick right to the point video. These are definitely not high end laptops and mine was excruciatingly laggy with the HDD after 4 years of use. New SSD in and it runs the basics just as fast as My Dell work laptop now! SSD was $60. Much cheaper than a new home laptop. Comment Edit: spelling
Lucky for me, I didn't need to replace a SSD -- just need to get the original HDD out of there, but I didn't know how to do it without taking a hammer to the back. Never would have known about that little seam in front. Thanks for the help!
Thank you for the video. Can you make a video explaining when to change the hard drive? Also, what else might be needed to change out? Maybe we can do it all while we have it taken apart. I would appreciate any tips you can provide.
Loved the video! My only regret is not finding it sooner bcI broke part of one of the plastic hold downs for one of the hinges, but it was not essential. No wonder it wouldn't open up. 🤦🏻♂️
I use a little dab of silicone to glue the feet back down. If you need to dive back in, the feet come off without tearing up. Like when using superglue
All though the carpet feature on the countertop work tables is nice to not scratch your work piece. I hope at min your grounded and or/using a static strap
This is my model of laptop . Thank you so such . Now I can find out if the guy who replaced my hard drive ripped me off for $70 . should have done it myself 😄
Can you make a disassemble viedo about that computer because there is only three videos about ram and ssd about that is specific computer and I want to see you fully dissemble and reassemble the computer
I'm trying to find out if my HP 15 bs134wm has an M.2 plug inside but without just tearing it apart I just cannot find the information anywhere. Any ideas? If it does i'd like to add the Intel Optane memory M.2 board. I have one in my desktop and BOY what a difference it makes in speed. If you have any information that can help me without me just tearing it apart please advise. Thanks a lot. Your video here will help me put an SSD inside it when I get that chance in a few months. Would LOVE if it did have the M.2 slot to add the Optane with that.
I got an old HP DV6580ee laptop. I replaced the DVD with as 12.7mm IDE to SATA caddy containing SSD . The DVD and caddy have the same size with the same IDE interface. The caddy is not detected. What to do now ?
Hi. You have to remove CD tray to remove bottom pan. The one screw in the middle holds it in. I show this in the video. Dont forget to subscribe!! Thanks for watching. Dale

I feel like a nut , I tried everything on my laptop but didn’t think to check my hard drive itself and all I had to do was snap it back into place and my laptop came back on😂😂
I appreciate the video, in upgrading RAM and SSD would that make this particular laptop sufficient enough to be considered a low end basic "gaming" laptop? **children** also can you upgrade graphic cards?
I am glad it helped you. saving money is always good. I am trying to get new subscribers. it would be great if you subscribed. And thanks if you already did. Dale
i have a question i just bought the same exact one from a local computer shop and i was wondering whats the highest ram i can upgrade it to i currently have 4 gis of ram and its terribly slow and laggy and also what cpu i can upgrade it to
Hi I love your video so I got this problem with my hp laptop and it looks like it is almost the same as the one you worked on this video hard drive short DST check failed and shows 24 figures, this means that I have to replace the hard drive?? Thanks
Hello my friend, ok I just replaced the hard drive in my computer, and it shows: no bootable device- insert boot disc and press any key, can you tell me what to do there, please
I have this lab too and when I pull up Task Manager I got a average 50 cpu 70 memory disk constantly hitting 90-100 under no workload. I paid 300 for this last year brand new just really not usable in this state- what would you recommend

Hello, it is easy to make your own. Watch my video on how to do this. You will need an 8GB or larger Flash drive ruclips.net/video/m2A5gcvV9HA/видео.html
Hey dale, thinking of upgrading my computer to an SSD drive for speed performance, just curious before i start doing it myself, is it required to clone my hard drive or can i just install the SSD drive and reinstall windows?
Hi, I have hp 14-bp0xx It comes with a SSD but I am wanting to add a second HDD that I have laying around. I've taken a look and there is space to add a 2.5" HDD, just wondering if you could help me out with what cables/enclosures I would need to get it working? There's is space for a HDD but I can't see where to connect the drive.
Sir, I have HP Pavilion 15-cs 1065 cl and there is no CD drive or the Hard Drive next to the battery, can you tell me please why or where is it? What a horrible product or is it so modern that I can not find it? The hard drive that is. Be safe and I like the video but, can,t find out the hard drive to upgrade. Have fun all.....
Hello there. Your model has an m.2 nvme ssd . It does not have 2.5 inch hard drive, or a CD drive. You can easily upgrade the ssd to larger size though.
On my 17 series laptop there is a metal plate in the optical drive area with two chrome discs with a very shall x in the centre which is holding the front case to the back in that area. Any ideas.
Older laptops were so easily accessible ram, battery and back cover. These new laptops are trickier and delicate

It's to make it difficult to fix yourself. So they get your money for sending it in for repairs, or replacing it altogether. It's a damn scam
That's so you take it to one of their "official" repair shops to have anything done with it.
They design it that way so, you when you want to replace a product u will f***ed it and u buy new laptop
I have a Lenovo E570. Two screws give access to the SSD and the memory. So simple.
Now you are encouraging me to open all of my 3 laptops and a desktop. Simple demo, less talk, more action, Great!!!!!!
Really 😂😂
I was wondering why the bottom wasn't coming off...didn't know those rubber feet were hiding screws, thanks!

Actually, my bench tops are anti static. Also, I sit in a wheelchair with rubber tires. Thank you. Dale

Great video. Do you have a video on how to get windows on that flash drive? Thanks
Great video and work! What model of Stil electric screwdriver is that? It looks like it's got a magnetized tip, which would be great.
Could u also upgrade the ram to that laptop as well... 4gb to 8gb
Yes, I did it to mine. Very easy, though 8gb is the maximum ram it will take.
Which SSD would you recommend? I think I have the exact same HP laptop.
Nice job man but i want to know where did you get this ssd all the ssd i see in amazon are for pc
Protip: If the official Win10 USB creation tool does not work: Use it to get the ISO. Then create your USB with Rufus.
Useful tutorial, thanks for posting.
