We use classic molybdenum wire to separate the screen and Morris contact cleaner (it has isopropyl alcohol and petroleum inside) which removes the glue with a plastic blade tool. We usually use a metal blade to remove it much, much faster but needs experience, otherwise you will scratch or remove the polarizer film
@@TechGuruGR ok thank you, so its not possible to clean it with 99.9% Isopropyl? You have to use other products aswell? those products cannot dammage an lcd?
@@glennjacobs2004 actually it is not lcd.its superamoled so it does not have backlight,so any portion of liquid will not damage the screen. Isopropyl alcohol only will be more difficult to clean,the petroleum does the best job that softens the glue.this specific contact cleaner has both of these materials so it does the job better. I believe there are more cleaners with those materials too
If you look better in the first minutes, only heat sensitive parts are removed (battery, cameras, flex) There is no need to remove all components since the rest are not sensitive, with this specific procedure followed. The cleaning liquid used is isopropyl alcohol which vaporizes and just before the new glass installation we cover the whole tablet with transparent film to avoid residues of LOCA glue.
Tech Guru I'm really afraid to do this I have all the parts I have all the glue I have the UV light I have everything that I need to get this done I have a shattered screen and I cannot bring myself to do it. I don't know why I'm a robotics engineer but I'm afraid I'm going to forget a screw here or screw their or forget to tape something down. I have a Tab S 10.5 that's basically useless because the screen is shattered I don't know why I'm so hesitant.
I've repaired many of the Galaxy Tablets and the only thing I ever take off is the back cover. Some of these repair people gut these tablets more than necessary for a cracked digitizer which isn't necessary. A simple blow dryer provides enough heat to remove the digitizer w/o damaging the components.
the type of glue is TP-2500 loca glue but i cant answer for the amount. i believe 30-40gr but i cant calculate it. you have to cover the areas shown, a little more wont harm as long as it goes out by pushing the glass when assembling
