I believe that it is an unfortunate reality that cultural anthropology is not readily available to (most) American high school students. As a student of history I benefited enormously by accessing additional approaches and skills sets for application towards my study of European, Asian, and Russian (Eurasian) histories. When I have had the opportunities to teach history I have infused applicable elements of the anthropological approach into history-- resulting in what seemed to have been (for the students) an increased recognition of the applicability of history, and a deepened (if not new) awareness of human agency and causality. Above all, cultural anthropology enables a broadened field for considering the contexts in which human history is created, studied, and asserted.
Very familiar with Lane Tech (as well as Whitney Young). CPS is becoming increasingly bureaucratized, so the hope (and practicality) of potentially offering an elective anthro class seems increasingly distant.
Ryan Gartland In Psychology we kind of touch on cultural and social anthropology but we aren't taught things like ethnography in research methods even though we often read research papers that used the method.
I have a question, so I'm interested in Cultural Anthropology however as a kinda of petite women, I'm a little nervous about traveling to different places around the world. So my question is Cultural Anthropologists travel alone or with a co-worker/group?
professor my last assignment almost killed me I almost bit my tongue off knot to give my personal onions and stick to the facts of what was in front of me
yeah I lost it a few times but I pulled it together started listening more intensely on what they was expressing and I completed that but always doing research that's called a scientist
Anthropology is more about observation and commentary. Sociology is more about learning how to effect social change, and different theories on the betterment of society. In other words, an anthropologist is dry and detached, whereas a sociologist is empathetic and actively involved.

Morgiana Branch have you ever gotten an answer?
I believe you typically travel alone to do fieldwork in cultural anthropology, as opposed to archeology where you may work with a team.
Do not go to India or Morocco
Here's a question; What IS anthropology?
