    The paddle brush works better on curly/afro textures.

    I need ALL the advice I can get. At this point in my life, my hair is about 80% grey, which i love! But the frizz!!!! Those grey hairs are like a spoiled child that does whatever the heck it wants. I cannot blow dry my hair without it ending up in a pony tail. Will the round brush make my hair nicer with less frizz?
    UPDATE!--- i bought the huge round brush and i was completely amazed!!! My very-curly grey hair usually requires a professional blowout to be straight. THIS brush gave me the exact same results as a professional blowout in 15 minutes!!! My dry, coarse, frizzy hair was smooth and silky without a curl in sight. Not only that, but my hair remained straight for THREE DAYS! This is the best purchase I've ever made for my hair!! I absolutely love this brush and would highly recommend it.

    I think hair type plays a role here. I have the paddle brush, but my hair is kinky coarse curls. I can't use nylon bristles directly on my wet hair, it would just rip it out. However, I can use the paddle brush and it gets my hair fairly smooth. After my hair is dry I could use the oval one without fear of damage and maybe to smooth a bit more. At that point I would just go in with a flatiron, because I wouldn't blow dry my hair twice. Just thought I'd add a different perspective.

    Your paddle brush must be broken. It’s perfect for curly or ethnic hair! I’ve had one for about 2 years and the air flows thru the whole brush. I can straighten my hair so much faster with it.

    I have the round styler and bought it after I saw your first video. I took it camping this past summer and as I was drying my hair in the women's bathroom, I think half a dozen ladies asked me where I got it. It just works. I look like a Brillo pad in the summer with humidity and frizz, but with this thing my hair turns out really nice even on the hottest days. It's a win.

    • @robertawhite5
      @robertawhite5 5 лет назад +2

      It is a win! My hair is wavy/frizzy and I’ve always kept it short/shorter. This tool is a game changer and I’m growing out my hair. I’ve always wanted the smooth look and with the Revlon Styler I have it.

    I've seen this paddle brush used in other types of hair, very curly hair, and the girls using it loved it. I think this is intended for curly rather than straight hair and this is why it's not working for you. But the round one works wonders on your hair 👍

  • @rebeccaherman2894
    @rebeccaherman2894 5 лет назад +19

    I did buy the paddle brush- the reason I chose it over the oval brush is because I have very fine hair that tangles super easy with the double bristle brushes and I was concerned it would tangle in the oval one too. I also have a lot of hair and I do have to say I don’t sweat using the paddle brush like I used to with a regular hair dryer. I would recommend the paddle brush to others who have hair types that tangle easy as the wider bristles don’t yank out chunks of hair, or worse, pick up hair from below that you don’t want. 😊

    • @katiejohnston3349
      @katiejohnston3349 5 лет назад +6

      I agree. I preferred the paddle brush to the round one. Simpler, but same effect in my opinion. I found that with the round one I couldn't even be bothered to twist it anyways. The only thing is you can't get it too close to the scalp but my curls don't start until further down my hair so it doesn't bug me.

    I’ve had that exact paddle brush for 2 years now and I’ve LOVED it. I have frizzy curly hair. It’s not new at all unless they changed something about it however mine looks identical to that. Same brand. Mine does way better. Maybe that one is broken
    Mine does my whole hair in about 10 minutes top and my hair is super long

    Bought mine on your recommendation. And I have pain in my hands. Used to use round brush and blow dryer. With this I didn’t notice how different it was until I had to use the brush and blow dryer one day after only using the revlon for weeks. . For myself with painful hands the revlon is much easier for me to hold and I can hold it with both hands if I need to. It’s hard to explain but I want to thank you for showing this product.

  • @boutux
    @boutux 5 лет назад +94

    You said that you wondered what type of hair the paddle brush would be good for, speculating whether or not it would be good for really long hair. I'm black with really coily kinky hair that when curly is at neck level but when straight is mid-back (#shrinkage) The Revlon paddle brush dryer is freaking amazing for when I choose to heat stretch my hair. It doesn't get it bone straight but it does a good job of drying and straightening my curls in a short time. And if you really want to straighten your hair then this dryer helps to cut the flat ironing time probably by half. It used to take over an hour to stretch my curls with a blow dryer and paddle brush the traditional way (painful too). The Revlon paddle dryer takes 20-30 mins max and no pain or breakage. If you have curly, coily, kinky hair this dryer will work for you.

      me too! I love it, I have thick curly hair and the paddle brush leaves it almost wavy and it only takes me 15 minutes to get 90% dry, my hair straight is also mid-back :)

    This is crazy! I was just trying both to see which one I liked better. I bought the paddle one first and I loved it but I wanted to try the other one because I’ve heard amazing things about it. So I did and I preferred it over the paddle one. The paddle one just leaves my hair straight while the other one gives me some volume and style!

    I bought the paddle brush one for my preteen daughter who has thick curly butt length hair. It didn't work so well. Her hair dries pretty fast so I figured this would work to speed up the process but it left her hair frizzy and damaged looking. I do better with my hair dryer and my own paddle brush. I ended up buying the oval one and it was a dramatic difference. I love the oval brush!!!!

      Hi Shannon, I have got through many curly girl hair routines and bought many inexpensive and some very expensive products. This is what has worked well for me. eBay has an ion hot hair brush, found mine for $28, and I also use Shea Moisture curl enhancing smoothie ($10 at WM) have had the smoothie for 7 weeks and still it’s half full. Even wearing my hair straight I still use this product as it works great for straight or curly styles protecting and keeping frizziest at a minimum. Hope this helps. There are many curly girl routines on youtube to look up, women will straight hair can not identify or know how different naturally curly hair is to work with!

    Having curly/wavy thick hair I bought the oval ion round brush, I really like it but thought about getting my daughter that has very straight hair the paddle brush. Thanks for reviewing it as now I know that the paddle one would be a huge waste of money 💰! Will say though that every though I have shorter hair my oval brush doesn’t get my roots dry and I use it at least 20 minutes. 🤷🏻‍♀️guess it’s the thickness but I just resolved to accept that’s all it would do, however like you said the top frizzes once it completely dries, not bad but it’s frustrating.

    Yeah for a lot of people who can't use dual hair brushes 'cause they stick to the hair which gets stuck in our hair and or rips out a lot of hair, that dryer isn't for us, but the paddle brush is just fine for us. Nice idea, but it seems like the airflow is the issue with the paddle brush. I'd get it, but I guess they need to work on that.

    Hi Milabu 👋 Yes I agree with you the round brush is awesome but let me tell you this; I have long thick hair and the first time I used it, it pulled quite a bit more strands of hair from my scalp. This oval brush it good for short hair. If you have the type of hair like mine, best to gather less amount of hair in sections to dry/voluminous & style it. Just giving you my experience. Tip: when you use the padle brush passes slowly, so that you dont have to repeat it several times and It doesnt damage your hair.

      She is right about the airflow and heat coming out mostly at the top. I have seen other complaints that the handle gets very hot but that is not my experience. From my experience (having kinky curly hair) and other reviews I've seen on YT I think this brush is better suited for curlier hair types. Us curly peeps can't use the round brush dryer because the boar bristles would probably tangle or rip out our hair.

I purchased the oval Revlon based on your recommendation when it went on sale at Ulta in October (scored it for $29.99!) and talked at least 3 friends into buying too (they also all love btw). Quick comment about the fake ads - have you considered taking legal action? At the very least you might be able to send a cease and desist letter to the companies using your footage without permission and get them to stop using it. It might be worth getting an attorney for that. Especially when they’re making money using your image for their profits. You didn’t give them permission to do that so I would think there is a leg to stand on if you spoke with someone with far more knowledge than I.
    Thanks for the video! Always value your opinion! 😊

    I have the round one and so far I love it. The only thing is the cool setting doesn’t get cool. It feels the exact same as the low setting. How cool does yours get?

    Happy Sunday girl💗 Thank you for doing this comparison, now it’s clear to me which dryer to spend my money on. My hair is textured just like yours so worked out great for me. I have been in search for a great leave in protectant for our type hair. My go to has been it’s a 10 miracle leave in product, it works but at times leaves my hair to flat.. So Can you do a test on some other products similar that might work better not leaving our hair too soft and flat. Love you girl and don’t be a stranger we do enjoy allllllll ur tutorials. XOXOX

    Anyone who got ripped off on-line should submit a dispute with their credit card company. They can research your claim and charge back the retailer. (Not all credit cards offer this type of service/guarantee.) It can take a couple of months for this process, but it's worth a phone call to get your money back.

    I love the paddle brush one for when I need to dry my hair quickly, but for volume I like the round one.

    I stumbled on your channel when I was looking for reviews on the rounder styler and I've enjoyed bingeing on all your earlier reviews. I'm an older lady growing out a pixie (uugh - will I ever do it?) and think I'll have to wait until my hair is a bit longer to purchase it. Thank you for this video, as I was considering the paddle brush, too. I look forward to your videos and I just subscribed.

    Can you do a review of the 3 barrel hair curler?
    They say you can get beachy waves too, but i dont see how it would work?

    I have a medium/short bob, fine, straight hair. I initially bought both of the dryers, to see which one I liked better. 1. At first, I liked the paddle one better. I returned the round one, because it was heavy to work with, it snagged my hair and I lost a lot of it, and it gave me a round bob, which I didn't like. I like straight hairstyle. 2. I continued using the paddle brush, but then I realised that I don't like the fact that (as pointed in this video) the air comes out only at the upper part of the brush. And one more thing (this goes for both brushes) - the low setting is too low, and the high setting is too hot! How about something in between? I ended up returning the paddle brush as well, because I realised that I get better results when using my normal hairdryer, and hair straighter after!
    This is a good idea for a product, but needs improvement. For now, I can see this type of product working for long hair, or curly. Otherwise, it's a waste of money, at least for me.

    I feel like maybe the paddle brush is more for short or ethnic hair because of how the air is directed and the barrel brush is more for medium to long hair

    Question for people living in Europe about the rond brush dryer, the same tool in Europe is 800 watt and the American version is 1100 watt, have you tried it? Is there a difference in how hot it can be? Usually wattage effects how hot a tool can get.
    Please answer your help is highly appreciated 😊 thanks.

    I bought the Revlon round brush after watching your videos about it. Mine seems to get so hot, even on the lowest setting, that I can’t even grab the section of hair I’m working on because my hair is so hot after brushing that it burns my hand :(

    Can you compare Hot Tools brush to Revlon brush? It’s at Sally Beauty Supply. It’s comes in a purple color. I believe it works just as well. I truly trust your reviews.

    I wish +Revlon would make one like the oval brush but smaller so I could wrap my hair around it like a curling iron and give my hair a wave. I have short hair like yours so waving my hair with the huge oven brush is impossible. I do love it for a good blow out though!

    I love the Revlon volumizer. BUT it takes up sooo much room in my carryon bag for travel. Any suggestions for a dupe for traveling? Or suggest to Revlon for a "travel size?" Thank you!

    You literally made me buy the volumizing brush, luckily I bought mine on Black Friday when it was half off 😁
    I noticed you only used leave in conditioner... Do you not use a heat protectant? I've used my brush with and without heat protectant and noticed a big difference, my hair looks WAY better when I don't use a heat protectant....

    I have the oval and love, love, love it except the highest setting is to hot for me. I use mine like a paddle brush in addition to using the rounded shape. I have a short bob to my jaw line. I have this and the conair rotating brush dryer that I love and switch between.

    I bought my Paddle brush online on Ulta on Black Friday for $19.99 I have only used it few times since and last night it broke down I’m really sad because I really like it. I think I might buy the round brush and try it.

    Too bad the better one isn’t vegan, but wanted to see a review of the paddle version. Can you maybe do reviews for vegan hair products? Pacifica has many that look interesting!
