I’ve got a 4.7 Toyota that threw the timing belt and now I got to replace the motor. Great video on how to take the back off. Too bad you don’t live close I would bring it to you
I got 02 with 280k miles on it. thank you!!! for the vid very very detailed!!! so at least i know what goin on in up there. luckily mines just a residue and a drip at this point, but if it looks like in the vid ill know to replace. thank you again!!! 👏👏
I don’t have the numbers however I get 90% of my parts from O’Reillys and they are normally right on spot I do know that the kit I got was a felpro kit👍
Got me a gx470 with this here motor. She startin to leak. Yup.definitely some drippage occurring. Once I discovered it I was like what in the tarnation is goin out round hea son??
Great video! Really the only one I can find covering this repair. Any idea how it would change for a 4wd Sequoia with the rear differential attached to the transmission? Thank you!
Just a transfer case behind the transmission and a front driveshaft if I had to guess probably not too bad these vehicles have a lot of space under them👍
Thanks for the video. The job is actually not too bad on these 4.7 engines. I bought a 4Runner not to long ago. I think my only oil leak is from the valve cover. I’ll have to check her out and make sure it doesn’t have this issue. She has 330,000 miles on her. I like to ride her hard and put her up wet. Lol
about to do this same job on my 2007 sequoia, thanks for the video. I wanna replace the transmission filter and put fresh fluid in it. it has 285k on it and people have told me that i shouldn't change the fluid. what do you think?
I cut my teeth as a mechanic in a transmission shop and we serviced transmissions all day long with no issues. However over the years as transmissions have evolved I have heard horror stories of transmissions working and after a service they give trouble? so in my mind it wouldn't hurt a thing but there is that chance? Thanks for the comment
Thank you for this great video. I’m trying to track down the O ring but don’t know the part number or what it’s called, any help would be appreciated greatly.
@@ChristmanGarage photos or it didn't happen. I know a lot of MASTER techs that work for dealerships, Fel Pro is the worst to use on a Toyota or anything that is not a GM engine. Fail-Pro works great on GM engines. I've seen it time and time again. You got LUCKY if that thing held up, but like I said pics or it didn't happen
@@Braapcity next time I work on it I will get some pics it’s a friend of mines, but I will say I own a 2005 Toyota highlander with 330k miles and I have replaced valve cover gaskets with spark plug hole seals and front timing cover seals with no issues either?? Maybe I’m just lucky. I do value Master mechanics opinions especially the ones who work on only a specific vehicle all the time because they see it first hand! Once again thanks for the comment I’m always open to criticism 👍
great video. I have a small leak and need to knock this out at some point. I will come back to this video for help. Thanks for putting the time in.
Thanks for commenting👍

Drew te aconsejo que ponga una corea nueva y pruebes por que esos motores 4.7 2uzfe no doblan valvulas

Yeah the starter replacement is a beast.
👍
What is the torque spec for the torque converter ?
Thank you for the video, this was very helpful! Where is your shop located?
Love your videos….Thank you
Awesome! Thanks for the comment👍
Awesome video! Us DIY guys appreciate it very much. Any chance you have the part number still for those parts?

Drain and fill. Don’t flush.
After replacing rear main seal 4wd drive move sequoia but dif lock is functional will it affect the 4wd
great video, thank you.
Thanks for the comment👍
Thank you for this great video. I’m trying to track down the O ring but don’t know the part number or what it’s called, any help would be appreciated greatly.
I installed a felpro rear main seal and it came with the o-ring in the package
Great video congrats I have the same problem but not too bad on my gx470 all wheel drive , I just want to know if is same process and parts ??
Few more steps because of the AWD other than that should be pretty close
I laughed and learned thanks man
Awesome! Thanks for the comment👍
Yup Toyota is 10, 12, 14, 17 and 19mm.
Great job 👏 👍
Thanks👍
I'll probably track down the toyota ones so I won't have to worry about for another 20 years. These 4.7 engines are great engines.
Thinking the same.
Does anyone have the OEM part numbers for both of these seals! TIA
Where are you located? Really good job
Thanks👍 North Carolina 👍
Top notch 👌
Does anyone know the report that for the metal plate behind the flywheel/flex plate?
Where do you add the silicon?
Do you have O ring’s part number?
Where did u get the parts? Can u tell me the parts number . I have a 06 sequoia 2wd. Its starting to leak bad.
I get all my parts from the local O reillys give them a visit or call they will hook you up👍
@@ChristmanGarage ok, I tried eurozone and advance, but no luck.
What size were the fly wheel bolts
They were 12 point and if I’m not mistaking they were 17mm
They are 14mm with 12 point head.
Had to use a 9/16” in a pinch but that worked fine
Is it the same on a 01 3.4 liter?
Never done one of them not sure🤔
how many hours was that?
If I had to do it again without filming I could probably do it easily in 4 hrs
Make me wanna dive in. Book time shows me bout 8 hrs
Oh god, you used a Fel Pro seal on a Toyota. You will be doing it again in 30 days. Also you used wrong sealant, Toyota FIPG is the stuff to use.
Must have got a good one it’s been over a year still dry👍 thanks for the comment

@@ChristmanGarage I'm just giving you a hard time, if your repairs are holding up that is all that matters
Nice job, where are you located?
Flex plate not a flywheel.
