I grew up as a teenager in the 60's & 70's and I have loved fashion my whole life, I'm 70 now. Honestly, fashion wise they were two of those most fun & amazing fashion decades. There were so many "new" looks constantly coming out that had never been seen before. And if you look at many fashions today and in past times, they have harkened back to those two eras for ideas and put a new spin on them. Also music in those two eras was the most amazing & innovative too, and a lot of the music that has come after those eras up to today has been influenced in one way or another by the amazingly talented artists of those times.
Love the way you explain things, love the 60s,early 70s, just a basic dresser,I agree with that person who said she doesn't understand why you haven't got 100,000 subscribers, looking forward to the next series em,hope things are good with you, make sure your going outside to enjoy the sunshine, you so deserve.😊
Your words mean so much! I put a lot of work into my videos and I hope maybe one day I’ll reach that goal. Thank you so much for all the love & support 💌
Great love the sixties fashion from the early post modern 1960-63 then the late sixties boho looks and carnaby street fashion of 67-69 with the sumptuous velevet embroidery jackets like Hendrix wore mods were cute also thanks ❤
I’m obsessed! This video was so so great!!! I truly loved watching this. You made it so informative and calming, just the best vibes. I don’t usually comment on videos ever but this time I just had to. Great great job Emma!
The 1960s are my favourite fashion era! My wardrobe isn’t a vintage one, but it’s got MANY nods to the silhouettes, colours, and trends of that time. ❤
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve often favoured the 50s silhouette because of my curvy shape, but your channel has inspired me to try out 60s styles as well. I think it’s great for people of all shapes and sizes to embrace fashions from different eras and have fun with it. You and your channel have inspired me to be playful with my style ❤️
Oh, thank you so much! Your comment put the biggest smile on my face 💌 I love experimenting with silhouette shapes and errors, so it means a lot of hearing that I inspire you to do so xx Sending so much love 💌
Fashion is such a huge influence on every evolution into a new era. Love the 60s and 70s time period with the fashion, style, decor, even the way people spoke ❤
“Something in her style that shows me I don't want to leave her now” 💅🩷 This is SO good, Emma! Really looking forward to next installments of these series! 😍
My grandma told me she used to wear a lot of mini skirts and rompers when she was in school in the '60s with Go-Go boots especially, and I was lucky enough to find my grandma's old winter coat from the late 60s/70s and it's in great condition
Ugh I just love a good video essay moment!! So exited to watch the rest of this series 🥰 It’s also just so interesting to look back and see how much of an effect (the end of) WW2 and the start of the atomic age had worldwide. I feel like the 60s is where you start to see a lot of (social) response to a whole bunch of things that time period opened up, and it’s even cooler to see how fashion/ style developed into a medium to reflect that response. Could talk about it all day it’s sooooo interesting!
My favourite styles are Mod and the London psychedelic scene of the late 60. But as you mentioned being a Mod was a lifestyle and I feel a deep connection to them, they called themselves the Modernists because they belonged to a modern society where different cultures could thrive and influence each other, this is why they are musically influenced by rock, soul and ska and reggae. And despite what people might think their smart dapper looks and shiny lambrettas were in direct opposition to society casting them as lower class. Can't wait for more episodes in the series! x Ps. I hope you'll make a video on the Nothern Soul/Manchester scene of the late 60s/early 70s!
Thank you so much for this comment! Such an interesting view that I 100% agree with. I love the psychedelic 60s look too and the episode coming out today will be all about that so I truly hope you’ll love it 💌 I love the idea of making a Manchester based episode. I’m adding to the list as we’re speaking xx
I was born in 1961! I remember a lot of these things. Yay, for bellbottoms, platform shoes and the flower children. Many of my friend's parents were hippies.
Thank you for the wonderful video, I learned so much💗You are such a smart and beautiful lady and I hope life treats you well💗 I have such a passion for fashion and I love your videos💗💗💗
This video was informative and entertaining, I really enjoyed. Please keep the series going. I love how you reference movies and music culture relating to fashion. I think you did a wonderful job. I can wait to see the rest of the series you create. I love the 60s and 70s era/clothing. Have you seen series like Mad Men, Good Girls Revolt and Mrs. America bring a lot of these fashions to life? I am a officially subscribed and watching your content regularly ☮️☮️☮️
Hey Emma what an amazing video I am a teenager and I am getting in to 60s and 70s fashion and it gave me loads of ideas. Can you do a video like this on 1970s fashion
Thank you so much! That’s wonderful xx I’m working on a video like this for the 70s and I hope you’ll love it. For more sixties and 70s style inspiration you can also follow my Instagram where I’m sharing a lot about those times and their fashion every day 💌
Can't wait for this whole series c:🖤! I love the late 60s, psychedelia & the "darker" aspects of the 60s. Such as The Doors and Rolling Stones influences.
As someone who is naturally thin my entire life no matter how much I eat I hate when skinny people say they were unhealthy in order to be thin. Not everyone who is thin is unhealthy. I used to sit in front of my pantry and eat the highest calories because being thin isn’t cute to my race. Oh well I’m 40 now. I believe the 1920s look was due to Josephine Baker who like me is from St.Louis, Mo. We have narrow hips and lips despite our culture 😅
I remember watching women walk up stairs in miniskirts back in the 60s. They would tuck their handbags behind their tushes to make sure no one got an eyeful.
Hippie fashion is a drow for me. I like the carefree kind of dress. It's far out, you know? So if you can do a video on that I would be interested and happy.
i think it’s so important that we’re recognizing toxic beauty standards of the past, and on the same note i think it’s time we acknowledge today’s toxic beauty standards. the amount of young women who get plastic surgery to look like the kardashions is so disgusting.
Hi! This was this a nice video! I wanted to ask though if there would be a part 2 and if you knew of any black fashion designers or any other minority people from the 60s.
Yes! As mentioned in the video Jimi Hendrix, Diana Ross and the Ronettes are big style inspirations for me! I’d also love to dive into the fashion of black designer so the time for an episode someday xx
"In the 1960s, many chose very publicity to start looking different from the norm." ❤ Long may this spirit last!
@ElmoeveSo true!

It's VEE-dahl Sassoon. He was uber famous as a hair stylist. Would you do a series on just the hair and makeup of the 60s, too?
Thank you! Yes I’d love to! I already have lots of sixties makeup & hair videos up but I’ll definitely do more in this series 💌
I remember watching women walk up stairs in miniskirts back in the 60s. They would tuck their handbags behind their tushes to make sure no one got an eyeful.
