    I think my favorite thing about this subclass is that it is soooo easy to personalize and reward. Instead of giving a magic item to that player as a reward, give them a lead on how they can discover a new rune that only they can use. Good for role play, fighting, and lets everyone play a rune knight without it getting stale.

    I saw this subclass and I immediately got images in my head of an adventurer getting into a wrestling match with a dragon. Frickin' epic! I'd say the Rune Knight and the Genie Warlock are my favorites from Tasha's.

      I played a genasi genie warlock and the rp is so much fun. Also, the combos are great. Fire Genasi serving an evil water genie is great. Piss off the patron and he extiguishes you.

    Mine is a goblin called Smol, taken when she was young and made to do the delicate detailed work of smithing. Eventually she learned enough and ran, always afraid they'd take her back to guard their runic secrets. I have her play quiet and protective of the team, but when she grows she gets loud and angry, often taunting smaller enemies.

    the cloud rune is sooo good, I'm surprised you can take it at level 3. It's like a short rest portent for attacks -that you can transfer to another creature. -redirect an enemy or ally's critical hit to the primary enemy.

    Really love this class the only problem I have with it is that you could use Rune Shield and cause an attack that was a hit to become a critical hit since it just says you use the new roll.

    • @URGE
      @URGE  3 года назад

      True, but it’s the same probability as making the new roll a natural 1 as well! There’s always some risk when you reroll, but sometimes you have to pull out all the stops! Thanks for watching!

      Bugbear's extra reach doesn't apply to Reaction Attacks; only the Attack Action on your turn. So Polearm master's reaction attack caps at 15 feet with this subclass's capstone.

    Hey guys I'm trying to build a Goliath named Atlas who's a weightlifter using the subclass and I have a question how big can you get in d&d and how much weight can you lift

    • @URGE
      @URGE  3 года назад

      This is probably the biggest you can get (thinking off the top of my head without checking) becoming huge without outside help. You could get Huge then have a friendly spell caster use Enlarge on you making you Gargantuan. When it comes to carrying, you can carry weight equal to 15 times your strength score (in pounds). You can push/pull/lift 30 times your strength score, but if you’re over your carry capacity you’re movement drops to 5ft. Also, in addition to that, for each size above Medium you are, you double the maximum weight. IE you have a STR score of 20 and are medium size. You could lift 20x30=600 pounds. You change to Large size, it doubles to 1200. You change to huge size, then it doubles to 2400. You can go hulk on some stuff as a huge creature for sure. Thanks for watching!

    • @samuelreese1816
      @samuelreese1816 3 года назад

      @@URGE my plan is that Goliaths have a powerful build at the start. Bear totem barbarian eventually doubles their carry limits and gains advantage on strength checks. Rune Knight fighters gain the ability to gain the ability to become the next size up, now lifting x6 the normal medium size creature. Now add two levels of dunamancy to half or double the weight of an object, and can cast enlarge or enhance ability on myself. Getting unarmed Fighting style from fighter, I think Atlas the Goliath could go toe to toe with storm giants at their size, maybe test the strength of Titans to gain favor of the all father, Creator of Giants.

And if they fail and have legendary resistance it uses up one of those which is huge (pun intended lol).

      @elliotbryant3459 2 года назад

      @@davidstratton696 For me, I would not be able to pass up hill, storm & cloud. After getting those it would kinda depends on the character for the others. Fire rune is not a ton of damage and doesn't scale, so the average 7 damage a round is less impactful the further you get from level 3, and the fire damage gets more resist/immune blocked wirh higher cr enemies. Also many later enemy's strength saves are likely scaling faster than your DC. But when it works, restrained is pretty sweet!

    I think you rated the class synergy wrong. Having many options, for say the reaction, doesn't mean that's a bad thing. It means you have a variety of ways you can react to what is happening on the battlefield. The more ways you can react to what is happening, the better you will be and help control the flow of combat or the direction of damage. From what you said in the video, you made it sound like having options was a bad thing.
