+Boxcarlongy Hm ... its a vid room ... no "dark room" ... so no "dark chocolate" will be served ... why don't you move this post to a ...xxx...-forum ... ru OK with this?
I got the DOD Boneshaker new on an insane sale in 2018 for only $34.95 shipped overnight air, no kidding. It is one of those pedals designed for endless tweaking with the, de facto, nine controls (including the parametric banding ones that are stacked underneath other controls).
I just wanted to say, I've been watching these vids for a couple of years and in that time Lee's playing has improved so much. I don't mean that as a negative comment, as a fellow guitarist it really is inspiring to see the improvements people can make if they put the graft in, as Lee has obviously been doing! Nice one, Cap'n!
That last jam... Oh Captain my Captain! Hot dam that was some buttery smooth tone! I have said it before I will say it again a thousand times over sometimes Cap totally owns Rob. Yeah Robs got the shred skills and knowledge behind him but every so often Lee will lay down a solo that imo blows what Rob just played out of the water. Chappers had some killer leads in this it was truly a video of many tasty jams but I have to hand that final one to my boy Captain Lee.
Maybe it sounded different in the room than through the mic, but the Gunslinger sounded *way* better to me through the clean channel. Much more like a cranked Plexi. It sounded horrid through the dirty channel - woofy and muffled, like you threw a blanket over the speaker and then turned on a fuzz pedal. I can't believe you guys preferred that. Brutal.
Great video guys and sick sounding pedals! Can't wait to see another Making a New Pedal Board video from you guys. I'm sure some new gear has came out since you guys built your last one. That was probably my favorite video of all time. Keep up the great work Fella's!
this has been said a lot in the comments but i have to say the captains playing just gets better and better go back and look at there older videos and you will see he has turned into a really good player. go the captain the new king of blues!
I liked the tone of both through the clean amp better. As Rob pointed out, in a band mix its going to cut through better. Wonder why he didn't point that out for the Gunslinger as well, since it's equally valid for that pedal too.
The Boneshaker is more designed to run into a squeaky clean amp for your main distortion sound I think. It still sounds pretty sick into a crunchy amp though!
when I was a teenager back in the day. I worked in a music store and a rep from DOD told me the name came from the guy who owned the company. Donny Osmand Designs. May of been bullsh*t but I like the thought of little Donny secretly designing pedals. ;-)
Nice demo ... thanks! Guess i'm old school ... so Gunslinger +++. But .... rethinking ... the Boneshaker is a very complex beast with a 3 frequency semi parametric EQ which might shine in a longer demo ...
Rob...big up on the Metal Zone name drop, still my fave "over-the-top" drive stomper. Lets see some vintage or classic gear reviewed and tested against the modern doppelganger. At the very least it will bring out the trolls in droves.
Hey rob may i ask when are you going to play a Sustainiac Electric Guitar on one of your songs it would be freaking epic to have a nice Sustainiac effect on the guitar solo keep up the good work with the vocals there amazing
I'm going to express my thoughts, and only that, so angry kids sorry: I've seen how Andertons + Rob Chappers combo has succeed, I reckon this alliance it's been the best for you both (and I've been watching your videos since you were the orange guy playing Metallica riffs, even before that small music shop with the guy that talked like a psychiatrist). It amazes me how humble you still are, and how your RUclips persona hasn't change you at all. I know you both can be reckongnize as brands, Andertons and sure enough Chapman guitars. I believe you could easy upload all the videos related to Andertons in the respective channel, and here leave your vlog/demo more personal videos. Now I know perhaps the reason behind reviewing Andertons gear here still is because of click/watchers/views etc, but perhaps a clip linking to the Andertons video would do. I'm subscribed to both channels so in theory it doesn't matter, but I believe will give to your channel one specific audience, and perhaps a content order? Dunno man as said is just a small thing, no biggie. Love your videos, and envy your charisma :) it was just a comment that I will give to a good friend regarding their job/passion/hobby etc, only and just that, a random opinion!
I know this channel is primary for guitars, but I've been wondering if there's a difference between a epiphone and a Gibson thunderbird. I've found next to none videos comparing the two. If you could make a video that would be highly appreciated.
Would Be cool to see a challenge / comparison of what to buy better, a stack of 2-4 pedals with a simple amp, or a combo amp with shitloads of effects. Within a reasonable budget. So for example : delay , chorus + wawa pedal with an amp + small cab OR a multi combo amp kinda all in one thing. The reason Im asking is, Im a starting ele guitar player, and Im watching shit tons of different videos (chapps the best anyhows) and some say that its better to have a shitloads of versatility when u begin playing guitar. But then, If I get a combo which is digital( there will be loads of effects and all that stuff but the sound just will be different) or I can go with transistor one with loads of effects and have again not the best sound of all time, or just with few basic pedals and tube amp with a cab and build on from there, I do udnerstand that at the end of the day, upgrading rack of pedals and amp itself will cost much more but then there will be nicer sound. Cuz once again its hard for a newbie to figure out what sound exactly I want to hear, I just know the genre I wana play, but thats It. I might aswell occasionally change my sound to something completley different to boost creativity or any other reason.
be nice if they would make a new version of the fx90, thats one of my favourite delay pedals, on a par with the memory man for sound quality imo, but missing the same control.
Got the gunslinger fairly recently, it's a great pedal. I have one issue with it though, it has this weird crackly sound to sustained notes when I have the gain set between half way and about 3/4 of the way up. It's not "broken" sounding, more like a weird layer of crackly distortion alongside the nice, juicy sounding gain and only on sustained notes or chords. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just a sign to change the tubes in my amp?
I've always been a DOD fan right from my very first distortion pedal (DOD hard rock distortion). Both are decent enough pedals but I really do not like drop tuned guitars (aside of just a half step) on anything other than mega heavy gain settings. Anything overdriven or clean just sounds hideous to my ears.
New room, new pedals, new atmosphere, new riffs - absolutely loved it! I f*&$ing love the guitar!!!
+Boxcarlongy Hm ... its a vid room ... no "dark room" ... so no "dark chocolate" will be served ... why don't you move this post to a ...xxx...-forum ... ru OK with this?
+Boxcarlongy what the fuck hahahahah
You were going off at the end!!!!!!
+Boxcarlongy well... I just... Never mind...thanks?
1:05 the captain tapped :-) I'm thinking a pixy died somewhere
+Steve Ozone very bluesy tap though. The pixy can stay alive for a while :D
+illistas it's wounded but not out.
+Steve Ozone I think the pixie just took an arrow to the knee ;)
+Steve Ozone Its rare for chappers to tap too
***** I'm off to never Neverland then
10 minutes into Netflix and chill and he gives you this look 9:29
+Lynkzify Real original. Gosh I can't wait for this trend to die....
+Lynkzify Laughed for a good 5 minutes
Killjoy?! More like not a mindless sheep.
SharpTony It's the internet pal, get used to it.
DOD is an underrated company, there drive pedals are great
I love DOD pedals!!!! My first pedal was a DOD overdrive preamp 250.
In case any bassists are reading this: Look up a demo of the Boneshaker with a bass. It's immense.
I got the DOD Boneshaker new on an insane sale in 2018 for only $34.95 shipped overnight air, no kidding. It is one of those pedals designed for endless tweaking with the, de facto, nine controls (including the parametric banding ones that are stacked underneath other controls).

boss and dod were kings of tone in the 90s!
I love the contrast of the white V40 and the black V30. It's like the balance between the light and the dark side of the force.
Lee's soloing in this is phenomenal, the pedal really suited his playing, i am thouroughly impressed!
You can tell how hard Lee has been practicing, he absolutely shreds in this video!
"BE STILL, BEAST" is a saying I will certainly be using form here on out. LOVE IT ahaha!
As monstrous a player Rob is, over the past year I've come to realize that I prefer the Captain's classic, bluesy style. He has really upped his game.
That intro jam 😍 Captain Lee that was incredible 😍😍
That last jam... Oh Captain my Captain! Hot dam that was some buttery smooth tone! I have said it before I will say it again a thousand times over sometimes Cap totally owns Rob. Yeah Robs got the shred skills and knowledge behind him but every so often Lee will lay down a solo that imo blows what Rob just played out of the water. Couldn't agree more
+DaManJoeWho not to mention rob is wearing socks with sandals. what the fuck is up with that shit?
+DaManJoeWho Why is it a competition?.
+DaManJoeWho Lets face it, people only prefer the Captain because they can't do what Rob does.
theradu123 rob pulls that off man!
Some of your best playing in the intro Rob! Excellent stuff
Love it when the guys do stoner rock, absolutely nailed it on this one!
Brutal.
Brian Peter It'll probably sound different in the room to them.
Great video guys and sick sounding pedals! Can't wait to see another Making a New Pedal Board video from you guys. I'm sure some new gear has came out since you guys built your last one. That was probably my favorite video of all time.
Keep up the great work Fella's!
Hot damn, these are good pedals. I really dig the boneshaker
Oh, 2015! Thou art so raw.
Damn the Captain is really getting better! KILLED it on that last jam
Got that old school GnR sound to it, loving it
That was a really nice jam that you guys had.
this has been said a lot in the comments but i have to say the captains playing just gets better and better go back and look at there older videos and you will see he has turned into a really good player. go the captain the new king of blues!
caps guitar work is awsome someone has been practiicing
keep it up lee it realy is showing
I love the look of Chapter's guitar!
Capts playing is sounding awesome!
The guitar playing is amazing in this video!!
That last jam was awesome
the solo rob did at the start and the solo Lee did at the end were awesome
Just found that Boneshaker for $35!! Thank for the demo boys.
The Gunslinger is also $35 on Reverb right now. It's been $29 on several sites, but they're all back-ordered.
Paul Leach they must have an absurd amount of these sitting around still
Captain's playing is spot on here!!
DOD are the initials of David O. Defrancesco who was the founder of DOD.
***** I know that for a fact because I work for the company.
***** Boneshaker and the new Ventura Vibe are pretty awesome as well.
You are correct, I know that because I work for David.
Loved the ZW BLS shout out! SDMF!!!
Nice video, The Captain tore it up on this one!!!
i adore the captain's solo style, so damn melodic
I used to have a Dod "grunge" pedal, I loved that thing.
I can never tell if the pedal is good for metal because you turn evety pedal into dad rock
I don't think it's very good for thrash metal, but it's really good for stuff like soad.
RandoZero Guitar It’s also very good for Around the fur/ White Pony Deftones
The gunslinger sounds great!
Groovy high gain pedals. Rock on.
Liked the bone shaker, love a bit of fuzz.
Just started watching this on my lunch break & opened a Coke that said "Share this with a Captain" haha Too perfect!
I liked the tone of both through the clean amp better. As Rob pointed out, in a band mix its going to cut through better. Wonder why he didn't point that out for the Gunslinger as well, since it's equally valid for that pedal too.
the gunslinger is epic.
DOD is back... and yes im ur guys age... cracked me up... keep it up guys. sending my support soon
Lee's face at 3:51 is awesome :D
Rob just mentioning kyuss has made my day
gotta love a DOD! I needs me one to run my new LP jr through!
6th? haha
I like the new studio. Nice setup! And it's all clean and neat.. for now anyways. lol
I believe the Captain should make a guest appearance on the next Dorje album!
Black Arts Toneworks makes some really sweet pedals!
Glad you kept the security tag on the Black Ops in case Chappers ran away with it!
Did Rob just give us the shocker? great pedals!
+Yesidoplaytheguitar We wondered if anyone would notice - ha ha, brilliant!!
+CaptAnderton The shocker should ALWAYS be used in conjunction with talk of the ALMIGHTY METAL ZONE, ay Captain?!
+CodyAlushin agreed bro. The Zone puckers my pooper. In a fun way, like a good rimmer.
He Mentioned the Metalzone, thats deserving of the Shocker lol
This pedal is dirty! in all the right ways
May of been bullsh*t but I like the thought of little Donny secretly designing pedals. ;-)
+Doug Dixon DOD stands for David Oreste D'Francesco, one of the co-founders.
Holy FUCK that SCHECTER!!!
Nice demo ... thanks!
Guess i'm old school ... so Gunslinger +++.
But .... rethinking ... the Boneshaker is a very complex beast with a 3 frequency semi parametric EQ which might shine in a longer demo ...
Cap'n's playing is getting sick!
Being that I'm 66, I like the Gunslinger as it makes my bones shake.
Iv'e got an old DOD "classic tube" FX53, it's built like a tank
1) Lee outplayed Rob in the jams
2) Lee, if Rob tells you to scream, you don't have to do it. "Mkay? 'Mkay.
sounds like a my guitar gently weeps smash-up
Holy mackerel, that tone from after 14:40 sounded a lot like Tool.
These pedals are dirty man. P.s. Captain, your hair is looking good.
don't really enjoy robs soloing. too flashy flashy robot metal for me, the other guy though! good stuff man
a real nice harmonicky sort of sustainy thing (Y)
Rob...big up on the Metal Zone name drop, still my fave "over-the-top" drive stomper. Lets see some vintage or classic gear reviewed and tested against the modern doppelganger. At the very least it will bring out the trolls in droves.
I enjoyed the Boneshaker
WHAT ARE THOSE !!!!!!!!
Hey rob may i ask when are you going to play a Sustainiac Electric Guitar on one of your songs it would be freaking epic to have a nice Sustainiac effect on the guitar solo keep up the good work with the vocals there amazing
Damn, Lee! You should play in a grunge band!
Rob said Kyuss...I went squee!
Thanks guys!!
yes lee!!
BE STILL, BEAST!
Rob, can you do a vid on the Orange Micro Dark? I know you dig the Micro Terror. Love to here you rip up the new one.
Oh my... The Shocker.
You guys need to do the Orange Micro Dark :)
Will the Cap10 finally purchase and learn the dark arts of the wah? Tune in next week folks for another adventure with Lee and Chapers.
I know this channel is primary for guitars, but I've been wondering if there's a difference between a epiphone and a Gibson thunderbird. I've found next to none videos comparing the two. If you could make a video that would be highly appreciated.
That last jam has got to be Lee's best solo ever. Loved it.
Is this the new video cornor at the Captain's cabin?
The sound is kind of better. Maybe you just made other changes.
Anyway! Nice new look!
Or just corner.
Have you guys played with any Kingsley pedals, specifically the Kingsley Jester? Cheers Guys
Rob - do u do all the editing ? just fantastic
My God, Lee's tone around 13:30!
LMAO, why is Rob suddenly obsessed with tapping? I friggin love it, but still it's a bit curious...
Ha! D.O.D! I Had a DEATH METAL back in the late 90's

Check out the Captain shredding :-D Get in hahaha :-D
Rob and Lee should be Wayne and Garth for Halloween.
Cap'n, for the history just wiki DOD Electronics
be nice if they would make a new version of the fx90, thats one of my favourite delay pedals, on a par with the memory man for sound quality imo, but missing the same control.
So is this a new studio set up?
Btw what is the name of the intro song? And great vid!
+Danny Sands yes this is their new set up and i don't think the song is named i think it was written just for the andertons intro
Alex Rooney thanks!
Nice profile pic by the way. 😆🎸
+Danny Sands your very much welcome that will be £699 please. and i take pride inmy pofile picture
So do I think It's badass

Rob, I know you hurt your foot. But dude, that god-awful sandal!
