one of the best ways to do it: -Go to Chapter VII -Equip Selene's Light and Gaze of Despair as your accessories -Equip Durga (Lightning Mode) as your hands weapon -Mash Y/Triangle. just keep mashing on that attack button and keep an eye on your multiplier. You should be getting it pretty high on the arms (5000x9.9), and once you get rid of both arms, try to NOT break the combo on the body orbs. it'll automatically give you the halos before you fight the head, so just build the mult. (9999x9.9)
If no one, catched the reference at the end of rodin's attack, it was the satsui no hadou, also known as akuma's Raging demon from the street fighter games
I just started playing (finished on normal, working through hard) and this is a great game. About this strategy - one little tweak to make it perfect - instead of constantly backing away you need to inch forward as you push him back. Once he is "out of the ring" all he will do is try to come back -straight back; right into more foot missiles. I pushed him way out there and just kept spamming the kick missiles until he was over and done. He had no chance once he got pushed out of the ring.
@TheOneTitan He equipped the Climax Bracelet and probably the Gaze of Despair accessory along with having Lt Kilgores on hos feet to do those leg shot that also come out as wicked weaves.
What are you talking about? The Rodin weapon can be either obtained by beating Rodin or bought for 3 million halos. The platinum ticket can be bought any number of times, to fight Rodin any number of times. If you already have the Rodin weapon, the reward for beating him each time will be a red hot shot. And the green laser sword, Pillow Talk, is obtained from either beating NSIC mode or buying it for 1 million halos.
he also makes resident evil 4 references. somtimes he'll say "hey check this out, whadya buyin?" "Heh heard that in a video game once" referring to the merchant in resident evil 4...rodin is so epic
@TheOneTitan OK, after looking at his battle, this is what he has equipped. He uses the Pillow Talk light saber, Lt Kilgore rocket launchers on his feet. He has the Climax Bracelet and the Evil Harvest Rosary equipped as accessories, but no Immortal Marionette. If you do this, be sure you don't equip the Immortal Marionette, that accessory, though making you more powerful and faster, doesn't work well with the weaves he is doing in the video.
I wonder. Has anyone tried equipping the gaze of despair while fighting him. If he is a monster now, he must be a fucking nightmare with that on, if not impossible.
Yeah, first time I fought him. I didn't notice any difference because I was dead in about 6 seconds... This guy was such a pain in the ass to learn and beat...
Wow I can't believe I'm saying this but this battle is better then Jeanne and Father Balder combined with Cereza. This is utterly amazing! Catastrophically amazing!!
I can say, that I am a pretty good gamer.. I'm playing for more than 10 years now and I also hadn't big problems with finishing Climax mode.. But Rodin.. Oh my god, this guy is just sooo fucking hard -.-
not sure if you know this, whenever you fight him, it will automatically set you to nonstop climax difficulty there is no way to fight him in any other difficulty
at the end of the level, you should have a combo score somewhere between 8,000,000 and 12,000,000 (divide your score by approx. 10, and that's the amount of halos you will be rewarded)
@souloftwilight the sword?, well its name is "pillow talk" but this weapon is a reference to Zero from megaman X, in other word's the weapons sub name is the Z-Saber
I would have done that too, if I had known that a simple weapon could beat him more easily then the best weapon in the game. As matter of fact I used Kilgore's wicked weave attacks on every boss, because it was the best thing to use for me at the time.
I found out how to do that. You have to hold RB(Xbox) or R1 on Playstation I guess. And then when the circle is complete push Y or triangle. You can do that with the normal sword to, it does the same, but with a red laser beam.
it is. but its really hard. you have to hit him allot of times without those wicked weaves to get the combo's up. BUT this makes it harder to complete it within a desired time. if you are trying to get the pure platinum on him then best of luck to ya!
Considering time frames, I'd think it more along the lines of The Infinite One, meeting a young Akuma and teaching him the "angelic" version of this attack, which Akuma later changed into Raging Demon. But it's just a theory. A game theory.
@bayonettafan001 well, u have to get 10 000 000 halos for rodin to start selling it. but don't get your hopes up, he is harder than beating the whole game in infinite climax
@GayLPer well hes actually not a lumen sage at all, he is an angel, because rodin fallen from paradiso and the platinum ticket is the thing that has rodin's angel power.and also the fact that he has a halo behind his head which signifies he is an angel
@GayLPer That is possible. At the beginning of the game you see a bunch of humans ritualistically sacrificing themselves to become Applauds. So I'm sure a Lumen Sage could become and angel as well.
@GayLPer mmm i dont think so, i read the profile of rodin and it did say he was an angel. but wat i wonder is why did they have rodin dress like a lumen sage its doesnt really fit him, i think they could've made him have twelve wings or something to show that he is an a angel opnce upon a time.
@PrincePhoenicis: I think it is a reference to Madworld, while some could thing that it was for Army of Darkness, my money is on Madworld since they are made by the same company and Rodin kinda even looks like Jack XD
Pillow Talk, which is the exact same name as a green lightsaber like sword used by a character from Okami...is a reference to the Z-saber? lol, no. =P Its far from the only okami related thing in this game, what with the flowers sprouting behind beast form when running.
Evil Dead has a charatcer with the same exact description as well. I guess the only logical thing is which came first? I mean in Evil Dead the dude fights demons and stuff so it would make sense for a game that also has demons but mad max????
@cyberchild94 Ah okay, yeah I knew Rodin was in USA too but I wasn't sure about pillow talk. Used to have this game but farming the halos just got boring.
Here's a funny thing. Rodin said that he wouldn't put a chainsaw on Bayonetta's arm no matter how many times she asked, but when Rodin gives her the weapon known as "Rodin," He technically did put a chainsaw on her arm. XD
The only thing i hated about fighting him with the climax brace is that it makes Rodin waaaaay to easy so i'm going to try to beat him without it because the lowest i got him without it was yellow...then he went ape shit and you need distance just to use shuraba's wicked weave.
all of his hits are ridiculously strong. hes one of the toughest bosses ive ever faced (at least on Nonstop Climax)
one of the best ways to do it:
-Go to Chapter VII
-Equip Selene's Light and Gaze of Despair as your accessories
-Equip Durga (Lightning Mode) as your hands weapon
-Mash Y/Triangle. just keep mashing on that attack button and keep an eye on your multiplier. 4:31
Rodin sure did gave her a climax she'll never forget.
If no one, catched the reference at the end of rodin's attack, it was the satsui no hadou, also known as akuma's Raging demon from the street fighter games

those launching kick attacks do soo much damage.
What are you talking about?
The Rodin weapon can be either obtained by beating Rodin or bought for 3 million halos.

Climax Bracelet, turns Bayonetta into serious mode which allows her to use wicked weaves at will
@TheOneTitan OK, after looking at his battle, this is what he has equipped. He uses the Pillow Talk light saber, Lt Kilgore rocket launchers on his feet. He has the Climax Bracelet and the Evil Harvest Rosary equipped as accessories, but no Immortal Marionette. If you do this, be sure you don't equip the Immortal Marionette, that accessory, though making you more powerful and faster, doesn't work well with the weaves he is doing in the video.
farming temperantra with the lightning durga claws in your hand and gaze of despair :P
I wonder. Has anyone tried equipping the gaze of despair while fighting him. If he is a monster now, he must be a fucking nightmare with that on, if not impossible.
@IniquityAndMalice You made my day.
Yeah, first time I fought him. I didn't notice any difference because I was dead in about 6 seconds...
This guy was such a pain in the ass to learn and beat...
yeah rodin is a weapon, actually angelic weapons all in one, its the weapons from the angels she fights.
i love how rodin is eclectic
Wow I can't believe I'm saying this but this battle is better then Jeanne and Father Balder combined with Cereza. This is utterly amazing! Catastrophically amazing!!
Rodin is a fallen angel. His "old self" IS an angel.
This music also plays when fighting Father Balder ;-)
Akuma better check this shit out. He's a demon, Rodin's an angel, and they both know the Shun Goku Satsu.
I bet even Gene From God Hand would have a tough time fighting this guy with both god hands more than any other fight he has been through in his game.
I can say, that I am a pretty good gamer.. I'm playing for more than 10 years now and I also hadn't big problems with finishing Climax mode.. But Rodin.. Oh my god, this guy is just sooo fucking hard -.-
not sure if you know this, whenever you fight him, it will automatically set you to nonstop climax difficulty
there is no way to fight him in any other difficulty
01:25-01:32 Morpheus [Matrix] is back! It's time to kung fu lesson for Bayonetta.
04:25-04:31 Akumas [Street Fighter] Shun Goku Satsu!
i need to get pillow talk!!!
Holy Rodin Rings! That was the easiest takedown ever hahaha!
it wouldn't surprise me if it was deliberate this game is packed full of refrences!
No pure platinum? That's a shame.
So what do you get for beating him? Just looks like a bunch of halos called Rodin.
@souloftwilight no, you can get it in the USA version too,the secret boss is also in the USA version
epic last hit! xD
yep...about 1 mil halos a pop =,=
Raging Rodin.
@WonderWolf13
that's a fully-charged Pillow Talk (secret) weapon.
at the end of the level, you should have a combo score somewhere between 8,000,000 and 12,000,000 (divide your score by approx. 10, and that's the amount of halos you will be rewarded)
Rodin vs father balder
Can someone tell me how the hell I get 10 million halos -.o
@stacetheface47 On the 360 version, you simply hold down the right bumper until you get the circle complete, then hit the "Y" button.
Oh yeah, the charge attack he used in the beginning of the vid is done by holding R1/RT...for a long time.
what you could do is make a save file so if he beats you just turn off your game and select that same save file again.
@souloftwilight the sword?, well its name is "pillow talk" but this weapon is a reference to Zero from megaman X, in other word's the weapons sub name is the Z-Saber
I didn't think Climax brace worked in this fight.
I would have done that too, if I had known that a simple weapon could beat him more easily then the best weapon in the game. As matter of fact I used Kilgore's wicked weave attacks on every boss, because it was the best thing to use for me at the time.
"What're ya buyin? Heard that in a game once." Lol best Capcom reference of all. That merchant is still on my brain. Stranger
If he beats you do you have to buy the Platinum Ticket all over again?
Yep, you will still have the same amount of halos to buy the ticket and keep fighting him again.
@ourdreamcatcher: Yeah, It's like a brace that he wears on his arm and a chainsaw extends out of it.
wait is she using pillow talk
Yes, she is. :)
I found out how to do that. You have to hold RB(Xbox) or R1 on Playstation I guess. And then when the circle is complete push Y or triangle. You can do that with the normal sword to, it does the same, but with a red laser beam.
there are also okami and viewtiful joe references in God Hand :D
@TwiliAezure The chainsaw thing is a reference to Evil Dead/Army of Darkness
it is. but its really hard. you have to hit him allot of times without those wicked weaves to get the combo's up. BUT this makes it harder to complete it within a desired time. if you are trying to get the pure platinum on him then best of luck to ya!

But it's just a theory.
A game theory.
@Whisper0fTheWind you can fight him as many time as you want
as long as you can afford it
@bayonettafan001 well, u have to get 10 000 000 halos for rodin to start selling it. but don't get your hopes up, he is harder than beating the whole game in infinite climax
now THAT'S a climax
@GayLPer well hes actually not a lumen sage at all, he is an angel, because rodin fallen from paradiso and the platinum ticket is the thing that has rodin's angel power.and also the fact that he has a halo behind his head which signifies he is an angel
At 4:28, did Father Rodin did the Shun Goku Satsu.
Wow, pillow talk is the name of Waka's laser sword in Okami also...
did rodin just wrath of the raging angel? thats awesome sauce
Jeez! Look at Rodin in the scene after the duel: he look like Kratos (except for the sunglasses lol)!!
@TausMunk The awards dont even save if you use the Climax Braclet.
Ragin Demon?
@GayLPer That is possible. At the beginning of the game you see a bunch of humans ritualistically sacrificing themselves to become Applauds. So I'm sure a Lumen Sage could become and angel as well.
@GayLPer mmm i dont think so, i read the profile of rodin and it did say he was an angel. but wat i wonder is why did they have rodin dress like a lumen sage its doesnt really fit him, i think they could've made him have twelve wings or something to show that he is an a angel opnce upon a time.
@Zaje45 Yeah I know. And yet I see tons and tons of Pure Platinum vids of this fight where they're totally hyped over getting PP with climax...
@PrincePhoenicis: I think it is a reference to Madworld, while some could thing that it was for Army of Darkness, my money is on Madworld since they are made by the same company and Rodin kinda even looks like Jack XD
Just thought Id point out thats my favourite Bayonetta outfit :P
@OmniDude90 Or that actually,it still equal's as the raging demon or wrath of the raging demon
Pillow Talk, which is the exact same name as a green lightsaber like sword used by a character from Okami...is a reference to the Z-saber?
lol, no. =P
Its far from the only okami related thing in this game, what with the flowers sprouting behind beast form when running.
I'm struggling to beat him atm, would Climax Bracers help a lot?
and Raging Angel is more like 'Raping Angel' judging from what he does
@cyberchild94 no man its from okami by a character that you face who has that sword
0:40 Evil Dead reference?
Evil Dead has a charatcer with the same exact description as well. I guess the only logical thing is which came first? I mean in Evil Dead the dude fights demons and stuff so it would make sense for a game that also has demons but mad max????
Can you fight him again after beating him? The cutscene seems to suggest you can buy another ticket and fight him again.
thats an accesory u need to buy. hard to get though i think u have to beat the game in none stop climax mode
How are you shooting off those butterfly feet? Does it have to do with the Killgore on your feet?
@garoad na you get a new weapon
just this guy already beat him once, so it only give him a red shot
Is that the Lt Kilgore weapon he had on her legs? If it was why was it shooting out wicked weaves instead of rockets?
@cyberchild94 Ah okay, yeah I knew Rodin was in USA too but I wasn't sure about pillow talk. Used to have this game but farming the halos just got boring.
It definitely was a reference to it.
Do you mean how you make the deomic hands apear? Please enlighthen me. ._.
@Archonus Does his skin change color like balder's does when you use the gaze of despair on him?
@Archonus I she as fast at the start as he is by the end of the battle and only gets even faster?
i have enough for the ticket but it won't come up when i look into rodin's treasures, can someone plz tell me what to do?
rodin would curb stomp balder
What's w/ the lightsaber? I've never seen THAT thing before.
masterll how did you do the one move at 28 secs in the video with the pillow talk.
@undeadyk 10 000 000? well i have a lot of work 2 do i think i only have 10 000 or maybe that much, i need to check i haven't played it in a while
Here's a funny thing.
Rodin said that he wouldn't put a chainsaw on Bayonetta's arm no matter how many times she asked, but when Rodin gives her the weapon known as "Rodin," He technically did put a chainsaw on her arm. XD
which do you prefer: Climax Bracelet or Rodin weapon??
Let's get this party started.... Dante quote :')
ok did Father Rodin pull a Akuma at the end...?
How do u transform into a panther on the xbox360 version? Im stuck on the 2nd chapter.
@wilfredmagz Did he play Bayonetta before?
The only thing i hated about fighting him with the climax brace is that it makes Rodin waaaaay to easy so i'm going to try to beat him without it because the lowest i got him without it was yellow...then he went ape shit and you need distance just to use shuraba's wicked weave.
ulqiorra he says you have to gather 10million halos in youre hole gameplay and then you can buy it for 1 million
DAMN that's a bad ass weapon
Soooo How do you get that saber and other wonderful stuff?
what item allows you to send the fists at the enemy
Hm, who voiced Rodin? Michael Clarke Duncan?
Angel should all be this cool :)
