Both game are very similar indeed but it remind me more of afterburner because of the background (the fact that you're flying above water which also mean you can't run like in space harrier) and the 360o vision when doing a barrel roll. The way the enemies arrived toward the screen is more reminesent of Space harrier though.
I was laughing so hard the first time I did this that I couldn't watch the screen and died. Barrel Rolls, ftw! It's so polite of them to cross the same spot twice, isn't it?
After watching this I finally got why I wasn't getting Platinum medal on Verse 2, I was killing everything (including the bosses) with with the regular gun, that's why I was only getting gold on combo, even with platinum on time and damage, my overall score was gold at the end. Thanks for the video, I hope I can get that trophy now.

@Klutzybear it is infact very long and tedious... i hate it, thats the last trophy i need , i find it harder than the hardest difficulty, and u can complete that on normal, probably very easy aswell lol
For the longest time I thought I was doing something wrong here, but no you literally have to mash dodge for most of this Chapter.. I wish it was a little less obnoxious. I can't even watch my screen doing this on ∞ Climax.

I'd say the gameplay is a lot closer to Space harrier than Afterburner, even if both are really similar.
