First time watching this.....as a HUGE fan of anything to do with flights, flying, and planes (e.g. JustPlanes, Captain Joe, DJ's Aviation e.t.c.), I'm glad and proud to see some local content regarding the same....you should consider doing full flight videos or how the process is for you once you've reached your respective destinations (polite suggestions).....😁....ahsante sana and please continue sharing them.....
I love this,as an anesthetist this reminds me of Theatre checklist, induction of patient, intraoperative period when I go on autopilot, then the reversal time when patient is being woken up from anaesthesia, just the same principals of operations
Yes indeed. Standard operating procedures and checklist assist in ensuring safety throughout our operations. You should upload a video about your work as well. Thank you much appreciated.
Very nice content indeed! You've covered the take-off process so well without skipping important stuff as most videos do. I particularly like the professionalism involved especially in the effective use of checklists, readbacks, etc. Now I'm seriously looking forward to other flight phases (En-route, Landing, Emergencies, etc). In the meantime I will subscribe to your channel.
Thank you for watching and I will endeavour to improve. Enroute, we rarely do much but I'll try incorporate it also limiting video length to a max of 13 mins or less based on research and current stats. As for emergencies, it's part of the plan, later on. Emergencies are the fun, part 🤣😁 in the simulator for sure. Much appreciated 🙏🏾
Huge respect to the ATC guys, I have huge admiration for them especially their short meaningful language of communicating things keeping us all safe in the skies. Nice one, please keep more coming.

I shold have become a pilot lol. I am so jealous... Bravo. Your video is so good, better than some of the international flying content I have seen. Stoked for more.
This is awesome to have such smart brains that are observant and having what it takes to take us to the next level proofing competence of the highest oder, really this is the land of elites and am proud of you captain keep our country on top of the globe.God bless you God bless Kenya, safe flight always.
I'm not a great pilot but I know some great pilots and I think it takes lots of hard work, patience and laser like attention to detail to get to their level. Thank you for your question. Much appreciated.
Fantastic stuff. Keep it coming!!! Love that you have taken the time to show the routing, departures and arrivals, checklists. Must have taken sometime editing this but it is much appreciated. You have a new subscriber.
Thank you very much. Yes indeed, it takes a while to edit a video. However, it is fulfilling to see aspiring pilots enjoy such content that I never had. Thank you for staying tuned. Salute.
I hope to hear you soon on the radio when I am in your neighborhood. So privileged and been a long journey but waiting on a slot for the NG for a carrier near you. But it’s always been my goal one day to do what you are doing, not just things for likes but it’s quite meaningful. We don’t have this content for young African pilots. You are not just taking shots for the gram. Again I hope to hear you soon skipper. Blue skies!!
V1 varies depending on airport, runway length, temp, QNH, configuration etc .. We call V1 when we get to the unique computed V1 speed for the day. Thank you for your question. Much appreciated.
flying scares me but ive no choice if i want to work and see mu homeland too. one pilot once told me dont be scared its safer than being on kenyan roads
Very cool vlog ... A lot more informative then any other onboard-vlog ... Especially the radio with AC ... Subbed! Keep it up like this en I am looking forward for more content!
Thank you. Much appreciated. As for the epaulettes, that's a good question 😁 At KQ, Captains wear 4 bars and First Officers wear 2 bars. In other airlines, FOs wear 3 bars but I dont mind two as there is no additional benefit. In addition, promotions to Captain are based on seniority AND suitability. I'm quite junior 😁
Give it time and trust that everyone you see in an aircraft is highly trained to counter most foreseen emergencies. I hope to see you in the skies again. Thank you.
You just gained a subscriber! Also, this is the first time I have seen 1 degree of flaps on take off (as far as I can remember) in any video on RUclips. Is this normal procedure for Kenya airways?
I’m not a pilot but I guess it depends on the weight or loading conditions of the aircraft. I once flew onboard a lightly filled B767-200 departing Gatwick Airport to the U.S. and the plane took off with no flaps. I was sitting in my favorite spot, window seat just aft of the wing so I had full view. I was slightly panicked as we rolled down the runway but the plane took off with no effort. I never experienced that before or since, but I guess there are conditions when you don’t need them for takeoff.
Thank you. Much appreciated. Flap ONE is the most commonly used flap for takeoff on the 737. A high flap setting gives a better climb angle and is recommended for areas with high terrain around the vicinity of the aerodrome.
