Thanks, had the exact problem and didn't even think about checking the fuse. Was about to get it towed for a fuel pump. The yellow 20a was burned and it cranked as soon as I replaced it.
Never comment but I had to say thanks!!Straight to the point video that saved me while broke down on the side of the road. Fuse was fried. Changed and fired right up. Thanks again.
Its rarely the fuel pump I've found. Faulty fuel pumps are easy to identify. It's almost always electrical or a fuse. Had a similar thing happen at the gas station yesterday. Disconnected the battery waited 10 min hooked everything back up cycled the shifter from park all the way to the low gear and back to park. Started right up.
Sounds like the garage you took it too just started throwing money at the fuel pump and not doing any troubleshooting seemed like a pretty cheap and quick fix
That definitely was your problem. Ford knows this is an issue. But they sure aren’t going to pay to fix it for us. They make a fuse relocation kit for that small 20 amp fuse now because of it though. The small one is the power for the relay. The relay itself is not bad. I could unplug mine, then plug it right back in and the truck would start. But it kept doing it intermittently. I finally found an F-150 forum that had a whole section dedicated to the failing 20 amp fuse #27.
Wait a damn mine. And the shop didn't see that first before they change the fuel pump....... that's just a bad shop, this is why there is a difference between automotive tech and a mechanic, tech's figure out shit where mechanic just replace parts
My truck f150 98 have trouble starting it crancks and everything but hard starting sometimes I need to spray that liquid at the carburetor at the carburetor so it can start , I probably check the fuses I was thinking maybe I need a new carburetor and Intake, or gas pressure I need helpppp
My 2013 F150 cranks like it’s fuel starved intermittently. Sometimes it starts, other times it just cranks and cranks. We replaced the fuel pump like you but I’m wondering if this relay and fuse could be my issue as well. If seems as though if it were either of these, it would fail all the time. Please advise
How you managed to get it towed without checking fuses or relays 😂 At least the shop was a much bigger embarrassment! They should have had that solved in 20 minutes for well under 100$. Curious what shop you brought it too?
All I did was check them. They looked fine. Put them back. Gently tapped on the others. Started right up!
Bless you & RUclips!
Thank you brotha !! Truck would crank but not start but as soon as I changed the fuse to a new one. Crank it again, boom it started.
It worked on mine. I followed his tip..he spent the money before I did. But it worked. Good vid.
Thank you so much for this video I am a novice and you helped me save a lot of money including a tow bill
THANK YOU! You saved me a tow and probably $1,500 bullshit repair at the shop! #27 was fried! Started right up. Thank you!

The shop changed your fuel pump 3x before checking the fuse??? They are special....
Hay you hit the nail on the head. Fuse number 27.
Mechanic tried to say it's the starter.
He was wrong.

Check if your cam and crank sensors are bad but the fuse would probably be the easiest thing to check first.
Good job sir
You replaced the fuel pump twice and didn’t check the fuse and relay? Fire your mechanic.
