Great video again Jon! You made a seemingly complex game really understandable and enjoyable to learn.
Jon, you're great! When I wanna get a taste of what playing a game feels like, I look no further. You're my go-to guy. Thanks for everything and greetings from Argentina.
che, como andas! buddy
Thanks Mariano, I appreciate the kind words :)
This was a really well designed tutorial. I liked the options to skip ahead and a host of other things you did.
Thank you so much for this great tutorial! I bought this game at Spiel last weekend and can't wait to play it.
I came here only for a preview of the game. However, I had so much fun watching that it felt like I was playing it. Great job!
Thanks for the vid Jon!
The Board&Dice booth was our first stop at GenCon to buy Terracotta Army :)
Another video, another game I will buy! great job.
Very nicely done, thanks Jon!
Great tutorial. I feel confident to play this tomorrow
Board & Dice keeps putting out intriguing games.
Hi Jon, thank You, once again, for a great tutorial. I do not know if the game is for me, but it looks amazing. All the best from Germany.
Great job! thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jonathan for the review.
Klasse Video, ich hoffe mein Spiel kommt innerhalb der nächsten zwei Wochen, dann kann ich damit direkt loslegen 😁
I got to play this recently at Dice Tower East. We made a mistake and scored every bonus tile every round. Other than that we got the rules correct. I personally loved the game and will be buying a copy. Thanks for the demo!
Ooof, that's a lot of scoring! Glad you enjoyed it though :)
Very interesting game, definitely a buy for me ! Thank you for another stellar tutorial Jon ! I have a question regarding scoring though. During that inspection at the end of the first round, isn't green dominating the lower left quadrant because of the horse ?
The horse only changes the footprint of the warrior on it, not the power level of it. So that Warrior still adds 1 power to the majority scoring, but it exists in 3 spaces which means it can compete in more different scorings potentially.
@@JonGetsGames Thank you for the clarification !
This game has received very polarizing reviews, from people hating it to others loving it. I like what I saw in your playthrough, except for maybe there being a bit too much scoring upkeep. Curious to see how this game holds up.
Super rules 😜
Hey Jon, this is a retail release? Crazy that they would retail release a game with these components, but I am on board for it!
This is a prototype version of the game, I do mention that at the start of each video when I am filming with non-final components.
Thanks for the video Jon! How well do you think the game plays at 2 ?
I've played a full game of this once, and it was at 2p with my friend Anastasia. We both enjoyed it, and I talked about it for over 15 minutes in an exclusive Opinions vlog if you'd like to hear a bunch more detail. I'm looking forward to playing this one more once I get a final version.
Great playthru. How and when can someone get a copy of this game?
I believe it's going to be an Essen Spiel release (Octoberish), but I don't know the specifics.
During the guard special ability activation. We can move any one unit on the board? Meaning I can move any type of the warrior anywhere on the board or only the guard?
Unfortunately, it's been too long since I played this game to remember the rules enough to answer your question. Sorry about that!
Wondering how long it took to learn the rules on this one,i think plenty of concentration for this one.....Like the components and board so a winner for me.
I found the rules for this one to be quite straight forward, more-so than the last few Board & Dice titles I've covered that is.
The turning board is the only ting that looks like it might wear out fast. I wish it was more of 3 plastic discs instead
:)
For scoring quadrant dominance, should you not count part of the green horse? Thus Green would be dominating 3-2 right?
Do you have a rough timestamp of the moment you are mentioning?
@@JonGetsGames I noticed this as well. You score the quadrant at 51:35
Also, at 54:44 when scoring the footman, wouldn’t the green’s horse give them 3 presence versus yellow’s 2 presence, thus given them dominance?
Nevermind, this was answered in another comment. The horse adds footprint but not power when scoring.
@12:16 Wetting lay... 🤔
You should have added a counter in the corner of the screen counting the number of times you said "clay" 🤣
I loved everything else in the game except scoring complexities which put me off. I personally feel it's too much to understand and remember how scoring works. Still I was with you on rules for end of round scoring, but groups and individual statue scoring at the end of the game completely put me off. You explained everything in a great manner, but the rules for scoring seem to be too much for me.
I'm in the same boat. It looks really nice and the worker placement mechanism with the 'rondels' feels fresh. I also like the placing and majority mechanism in the mausoleum, but indeed, the scoring mechanism feels way too convoluted. I would love to play, but I won't put the game on my 'must buy' list.
I can see this perspective, but did want to mention that I played a 2p version of this on TTS after making the video and didn't find the different scorings to be hard to parse online anyway. I wouldn't say they were easy to parse either, but I didn't feel frustrated with crunching them while playing.
Are sure there’s enough ad breaks on this video??
I just checked and there were only two which is my standard for videos longer than 30 minutes. Did it error and give you more than this?
