:D When I edited that in I then watched it about 10 times laughing because it worked so well.

I forgot you had another Moonrakers video on the schedule. Sadly it's still not my kind of game, as I commented last time, but I always enjoy your videos.

I like how you stuck it a 3rd hand at 24:28 for one of the players. I wondered if you hire a 2nd person for the video for the thumbs up thing or edited the video with a computer to add in a hand for each player. It's amazing what video editing can do these days.
As for the game itself, the gameplay is still a mixed for me since you do have to rely somewhat on your opponents to get contacts done, and I wish they went the route of being able to do things by yourself somewhat. Even though 3 expansions and a digital game are out now for it, I think I'll wait a bit before getting the game since it is a little on the costly side, especially when I have other deckbuilding games that I bought in physical that were cheaper than this game and/or got a base game with either about the same or more content for the same price or cheaper.

I've been wanting to mess around with the shape mask tool in Final Cut Pro for a while and this was a good opportunity to learn who it works :) I thought it was hilarious, glad other people got a kick out of the 3rd hand as well.

Thanks for the tutorial Jon! Quick question. Do all players have to discard their hand even if they where not part of the contract? Or is it only players taking part in a contract. Thanks!

Unfortunately, it's been too long since I played this game to remember the rules enough to answer your question. Sorry about that!

because u discard before the buy phase....the first ship part u bought can only be activated if u stay at base? its useless otherwise right?

46:40 You might want to add a CC because you are pointing at 2 Ventus part and 1 Henko part and not 3 henko parts.
Don't worry, I got tricked by it too. We really need to pay attention to the bottom right part.
I wish IV Studio would have set the color of the top left name of the ship the same as the planet where they are coming. The color of the ship parts name represents technically the type of technology it is, so blue for reactor, orange for weapon, yellow for thruster and green for shield.
51:06 I'm pretty sure the ship parts can only be activated in the Execution Phase and you only have an execution phase if you go on a contract. Staying at the base will skip the execution phase.

I had a hard time finding a restriction on when you can activate ship parts, do you happen to remember where that was in the rulebook?

    • @Renegade_KT
      @Renegade_KT 2 года назад

@@JonGetsGames I think it mostly comes down to a mix between following the turn structure and reading about when they are talking about using ship parts.
      A turn have these phases:
      1. Planning Phase P.15
      1 a) Choose a contract P.15
1 b) Stay at base -> Skip Execution Phase P.17
      2. Execution Phase P.18-19
      3. Buy Phase P.23
P.19 Is the first time when the rulebook talks about a time when ship parts can be used.
I think it's mostly an omission thing more than anything.

@@JonGetsGames I can't find anything that explicitly says you can't activate ship parts outside of the Execution Phase (or that you can only activate them during the Execution Phase), but it does seem like the only time it actually mentions "contributing Ship Part specials" or "using relevant Ship Part special abilities" is during the Execution Phase.

Tired Nomad and I don't think I like it. Its nice to just allow anyone to go on a mission with you without needing to be adjacent. Also, its really nice to have 8 contract cards face up on the table instead of Nomads rule only letting you draw 3 and choosing 1. However, I love the event cards and was wondering if they could be added to the base game without the need of Nomad?

I'm not sure, I don't remember the specifics of this game unfortunately.
