I bought the large print version. I was actually able to find a case for it. I keep a note pad, a pen, a pencil, and some tracts in it. I actually have a few Bibles, set up the same way. So no matter which one I take, I can pass out tracts.

Looks very nice, and what an iconic Bible. I bought my first "Nice" Bible when I was 16, and it was a TCR at the local CBS. It was amazing how many features it had, I was blown away. I'm looking forward to looking at one of these in person, thank you!

Nobody has done this amazing bible as well as Church Bible Publishers...water buffalo full yapp and lamb skin and their paper is the best. Not that I think Zondervan isn't great too, but I just had to throw that out. I have the CBP and it's truly one of a kind. Happy Father Day and God's Blessing to one and all.

I can remember when I was getting out of the service and was looking forward to having more time to study that I purchased a handy sized Thompson. I was only 27 years old so the print was not an issue at that time. I literally could not put it down. Now I am not even sure if the large print is big enough. If so I might pick one up. Thanks for the video.

I just received my black, and brown cover TCR Bibles today. The thing I like about the TCR Bible is, no matter what size you get, everything is on the same page, no matter what size print you buy. I accidentally bought the handy size, because where I bought it, put the wrong size in their ad. I had to return them, because the print was way to small.

This is Kirkbride's last printing in a Zondervan cover. In the TCR Facebook group, Zondervan announced no changes would come till next year. They actually put some polls out asking TCR users what they want to see.

I bought a Thompson Chain NASB Bible from Zondervan less than a year ago and the glued backing is broken already. It is NASB 95, it's a 2023 edition. I'm VERY DISSAPOINTED in it. Everything about the Bible I thought was very good, the text is easy to read with the two colors, etc.... but when the back started to break when I was using it turned me right off.
If I would have known that it was a glued backing I NEVER would have bought it. All the Bible is used for now ~ is looking cute as it takes up space on my book shelf.
I know how to treat Bibles (I have 17 different Study Bibles). It wasn't a cheap Bible - it spoiled a $100.00 Canadian dollars. So now I'm stuck with it, its not even fit to give away......
I deliberately read the advertisements and watched the videos on that Bible and NO mention was made concerning the binding, however the leatherette cover is quite comfortable to handle - yeah...I'll give it that much... Even the "reviews" I watched ignored that fact.
Think about it.... Its a Study Bible"! It's very nature dictates that it will be USED!....... but it falls apart when you do actually USE it! So please do make mention of the bindings in your reviews so that it would help others from making a very bad investment in their study of the Word.
Thanks for listening to my rant.

I actually have a Spanish (RV60) TCR published by Zondervan (produced in 1987 by their Spanish division under license from Kirkbride, 2007 printing). So I trust that Zondervan will do the English TCR justice.

Thank you for a great review. I got the ESV version. The red letter was all over the place - some pages were really faint link and barely legible. The ESV version has no notes section. 😔 Very disappointing, as I would have preferred to pay a little extra and have great quality...

Good evening and congratulations to the work, I would like to leave here my impression of this material. At first it seems like a fantastic bible, but I confess that I have a certain fear of these chain references and I would like to see your opinion and also from the other members of the channel, my question is, wouldn't this tangle of themes linking verses from different books lead to the possibility of decontextualizing texts simply because, by separating these verses from their main theme and linking them to others they may bring a new idea? Almost like a word search where we look for fragments of letters and books to build an argument that, if we were to evaluate the complete texts from which we took those pieces, would not have the same meaning?
Well, brothers, this is my question about this bible, it seems to me that, starting from an idea that we want to develop, we could find fragments of texts that can give meaning that we want but it's something that was never the intention of the texts from which they were taken. Please comment.

Jesus and the apostles would seemingly quote from various places in Scripture. But yes, there is a danger if not properly used.

I have a Thompson chain reference Bible King James Version the first church I went to gave to me for Christmas it is a fifth improved Edition 28th printing printed in September 2010. It is a really wonderful Bible I love it a lot I really only use it for the references because I'm not that good at reading so why use audio Bibles so I used what I'm able to of the references.

My major concern with the Zondervon "Thompson Chain" is if the notes were tampered with. One of the introduction pages has John's name and PhD of religion states that he edited and added to the notes. I wonder!

@@NewLifeOfAlbanyGa do you know of this? When the government shut Kirkbride down due to covid, they couldn't afford to continue. Thats when Zondervon purchased the rights to the notes. It also seems suspicious that Lockman Foundation only gave them the rights to the 1977 NASB translation and not the 1995. But; im pretty suspicious!

What is your go to Bible?
Print would be too small for me, and little too busy with all the lettering.
You would think with a big bible that there would be more than one ribbon.
My favorite study Bible is the Thomas Nelson KJV STUDY BIBLE.
    Once again, great review.

If you prefer the KJV, then I'm sure the Church Bible Publishers version is the way to go, at least until they stop publishing it once their current printing runs out. But if you read any other translation (like I do...since I don't prefer the KJV), then Zondervan is the only way to go.
