    This is a video overview of how to use all of the features of the Revised and Updated Zondervan 2022 Edition of the Thompson Chain Reference Bible, using the KJV Thompson Chain Reference Bible Premier Collection in Black Goatskin Leather as the sample bible.
    100 Years of the Thompson Chain
    Beloved and acclaimed for more than five generations, the Thompson® Chain-Reference® Bible is unparalleled in its ability to enrich personal devotions, topical study, and sermon preparation. This unique reference Bible enables you to search the breadth of Scripture’s teachings on thousands of topics and allows you to follow those topics throughout the entire Bible. With over 100,000 references, covering over 8,000 topics, the chain-reference system is an ideal tool for comprehensive topical study. The Thompson Chain-Reference Bible also offers a library of additional study resources that allows readers to interpret the Bible using related scripture passages rather than consulting a commentary.
    The KJV Thompson Chain-Reference Bible is printed in the KJV Comfort Print® typeface for easy reading. Expertly designed specifically to be used for the King James Version (KJV) text, Comfort Print offers an easier reading experience that complements the translation. This Bible also features a fresh, two-color design that preserves the original look of the chain-reference system, while making each page cleaner and easier to read.
    "Influence-Free" Study Bible
    A Thompson® is considered by some to be the only true "Influence-Free" Study Bible. This is the one very important difference between a Thompson® and most other study Bibles. Most study Bibles fill their margins with another person's commentary. These are notes from a knowledgeable author who tries to explain the text to you. Commentaries can be useful, but every author has his or her own view and biased agenda. Commentaries offer wide and often opposing influence. The Thompson® Bible is "influence-free," because instead of commentary, the margins are filled with thousands of chain-references® that propel you ahead into Scripture. Scholars agree that the Bible is its own best commentary, and the Thompson® Chain-Reference® Study Bible is built on this premise.
    Thompson Chain Features:
    - Easy-to-understand chain-reference system with over 100,000 references
    - Alphabetical and numerical indexes highlight study materials for over 8,000 topics, each with its own topic number, for exhaustive topical study
    - An extensive study resource section includes biographical sketches, illustrated studies of the Bible, a concordance, Bible harmonies, and many other helpful study tools
    - Topical Sub-Headings
    - Fresh, two-color page design
    - 66 book introductions
    - 16-page full-color map section with map index
    - Line-matched text for enhanced readability
    - Smyth-Sewn Pages and Edge-Lined construction for flexibility
    - Presentation page for gift-giving
    - double-sided satin ribbon markers, each 3/8-inch wide
    - Exclusive Thomas Nelson KJV Comfort Print® typeface

    Great job! I love this Bible my husband purchased for me for Christmas this year. Could you tell me the meaning of the 3 ribbons? I’m thinking Blk is Old Testament & Gold is New, what is Red?

      Thank You. We are not aware of any specific meaning behind the color of the ribbon markers. If anything, it helps you tell them apart so you can perhaps develop your own system of marking. Blessings.

    I'll stick with the original 5 edition Thompson chain reference, King James version,
    but no matter what translation it is a nice reference Bible,
    you won't find a better one out there,
    make sure you tell the people all the changes that they made, zondervan they change things in that book that are no longer in the Thompson's chain reference Bible, make sure you tell the people about the changes the zondervan did to the Thompson chain reference, there's a lot they changed it's not the same as the original.

      Yes, we attempted to do just that on our companion Thompson Chain Videos, such as:

    I primarily use the NLT so which version of this Bible would you recommend?

    • @TheKJVStore
      @TheKJVStore  3 месяца назад

      Closest available Thompson to the NLT would probably be the NIV.
      Of course for something different, and the most beautiful reading experience, keep the KJV in mind as well: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/study-bibles/thompson-chain-reference-bibles/

    Which bible seems more popular this one or the Common man’s? I hope it’s okay to ask that.

    • @TheKJVStore
      @TheKJVStore  7 месяцев назад +2

      We have no problem with your question at all. Before the release of these updated Thompson videos, on our site, The KJV Store, the Common Man's had a slight edge. But since the new videos, and given the overall quality of Zondervan's "Premier" Edition Thompson in Goatskin: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-thompson-chain-reference-bible-premier-collection-black-goatskin-leather/
      The KJV Thompsons are definitely pickup up steam. God Bless.

    Would the numerical topics or the parallel passages be considered cross references?

    • @TheKJVStore
      @TheKJVStore  4 месяца назад +1

      We actually checked with one of the consulting editors to the Updated Thompson Chain and they agreed with our explanation that both Numerical Topics and Parallel Passages "CONTAIN" Cross References, but they are not distinctly cross-references themselves because their terms are more specific to how they work.
      Cross references themselves go in every direction without any consideration of the topic or location and are separate from parallel passages.
      The numerical topics could be considered chain references since they chain together to build the topic, but a better explanation would be that they "contain" references rather than being references themselves.
      Parallel passages could be considered cross-references, but they're more specific than that so the term "parallel passage" is a better term for them. Parallel Passages, rather, "are supplemental verse that do not form part of the chain, but may provide added insight to the text."
      Thanks for your question and we hope this helps.

    Which are you better off with?
    1. Thompson Chain Reference
    Or
    2. Treasury of Scripture Reference
    Which is more thorough?

    • @TheKJVStore
      @TheKJVStore  5 месяцев назад

      The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge is "ok" for more of a book or bible commentary:
      www.thekjvstore.com/the-treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/
      But the print is small and the layout is very dated. At only 784 pages, It's nowhere near as comprehensive, in our opinion, as a KJV Thompson Chain Reference Bible which is over 2,000 pages of content:
      www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/study-bibles/thompson-chain-reference-bibles/
      The Thompson Bible is truly a single one-volume KJV Study Bible resource with much larger print, a more modern and easier to read layout and design, and much better quality binding options as well.

    Bearing in mind that Thompson was NOT a Baptist theologically or doctrinally, NOT KJB and tended to run the notes in a penny'cost'al direction when it suited him.

    • @TheKJVStore
      @TheKJVStore  22 дня назад

      Fair enough if true, but as with ANY study or reference bible made by man, there will always be some bias or doctrinal leanings ini any commentary or reference system. However, the Thompson still remains unique in that whatever "direction Thompson points you" he still allows Scripture to exclusively be interpreted and supported by Scripture for the reader, and thus allowing the reader to form their own interpretation of the references and Scripture being read. Also, there are no "notes" in the Thompson, so we wouldn't deem that an accurate part of your statement. The Thompson is a REFERENCE bible, first and foremost, not a "commentary" bible.

    Do you have any provable, fact-based evidence of anything spiritual in the bible?
    And by "evidence" I mean, NOT any hearsay, feelings, faith, beliefs, hopes, coincidences or imaginary bible stories.

    • @TheKJVStore
      @TheKJVStore  6 месяцев назад +5

      Every rational human, both Christian and Atheist (Josephus, Tacitus) cannot deny that a man named Jesus of Nazareth did live and exist, and was crucified on a cross:
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sources_for_the_historicity_of_Jesus
      www.history.com/news/was-jesus-real-historical-evidence
      It is then up to every human to decide whether to believe that Christ was the Messiah and Son of God, or to deny him. The choice is 100% yours.

    • @darz3829
      @darz3829 6 месяцев назад

      @@TheKJVStore I have no problem with historical facts. Those are frequently corroborated by multiple sources.
      But your language that says each human must believe. Belief is a human emotion and dependent on as many human thoughts as there are humans. To believe without factual evidence is like saying a court case should be determined by hearsay or a feeling. That is all I'm asking for. From your rote rehearsed reply I take it you can't provide what I'm asking.

      Have you ever seen electricity? Have you ever seen the wind? You've only ever seen the effects of these, but we bet you "believe" they still exist.
      Your very question included the word "spiritual". Have you ever seen a spirit or do you believe in the existence of spiritual things? If you don't "believe" in anything then why did you ask a question based in fallacy? You did it because you apparently have nothing better to do than to attempt to bate Christians or Christian organizations on RUclips. Which means your life is void of the love of Christ and the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, and which is only attained through the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. This will be our final response on the matter, but we will genuinely pray for you, even if it means you'll likely still incorrectly view us as silly humans with our heads in the sand who choose to believe in things greater than us and that we cannot see. We will click "reply" and sleep soundly tonight secure in our faith. How will you sleep knowing that you're willfully ignoring God's calling on your life?
