    🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.
    I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.

    I am 70 yrs old and not very interested in makeup. However, I am a sculptor. My medium is clay. I am thrilled with this series you have produced! You have taught me more about faces than all my classes and books combined. The human face is my love and joy. How can I ever thank you enough for these amazing videos. I bless you!

      Althea baranov I'm here for makeup, but my boyfriend is an aspiring author and I found myself thinking how much this series would prove helpful in describing the appearances and features of his characters. It's honestly a much more comprehensive way of looking at facial features than simply oval/round/square/heart.

    This video boosts my self-esteem, because after seeing lots of diferente face shapes (celebrity face shapes) and all of those different faces are considered to be beautiful, then it gives me hope that my face can be beautiful, too. This is also a great video for a person that would like to learn how to create better drawings: because if the person/illustrator focus on the advices you give about proportions, then the artist/illustrator can create drawings based on what you taught about face shapes.

    learning so much about my face with these videos. and i like the photos of all the women that you choose to show each feature. i always felt like there was only one way to have a pretty face. high cheekbones, slim nose, big lips, and big eyes. that's pretty much how all make-up tutorials show you how to do make-up. all contouring videos are about making your cheekbones more prominent and how to make your nose look slimmer, etc. but all those photos show a huge variety in facial features and all of those women are gorgeous. these videos make me feel a little bit better about the way i look :)

      I wouldn't go by that. I have high cheekbones,heart shaped face,small chin,big eyes,full lips average nose and I've been told I'm ugly my whole adult life. Complete strangers feel the need to walk up and tell me so.
      So don't go by the stereotype.

    I love this series so much! Most youtubers make it feel like contouring is one size fits all, but there is so much variety in every face. Also, I really used to hate my features- I always thought my lack of cheekbones, large nose tip, small lips and short face made me look very childish, but now I realize that my face would look so boring without them! I feel like we all have this different idealized woman that we think we should look like, but we never stop to embrace the women that share our same features. Thank you so much!!!

      @celestemoreno2343 8 лет назад +7

      +Holly Roscoe I have almost the opposite of you, my face is very big, and has always looked more mature than my actual age, I hated that, but I've come to realize that these make me, me and there is no wrong face.

  • @pants6416
    @pants6416 8 лет назад +51

    Sometimes I feel like I look so different, and maybe almost ugly because of that, as if I'm almost not human enough.
    A lot of this is from emotional abuse from my parents (who I do not speak to) and bullying during school and beyond. However, sometimes I forget that my feelings about my looks are mostly a reflection of the way I have been treated by others.
    I start to forget that everyone looks different in so many ways, like you have pointed out in your videos. Even as a racial minority in a predominantly homogeneous area, thinking that I am little and ugly in comparison to most others around me, those people still all look different to each other, as well, in all of their unique ways. Those people would also stand out in the country of my ethnic background. It doesn't make either better or worse; just variations of human. Maybe some will not realise that, and will still treat me as a lesser being, but that is their issue; not mine.
    Anyway, I am babbling. I just wanted to say thank you for reminding me that we are all variations of human with many different features to accentuate or minimise as we please, or simply just to be.
    Thank you. This video series is very good.

    This is one of the most intelligent and well thought out series on contouring that I've seen. The use of examples and diagrams made it easier to break down the basics and understanding light and shadow than the so-called "beauty gurus" on RUclips who know nothing about makeup but how to do "SPF" (standard pretty face) in different shades while spamming non-stop expensive products that "omg, they're so life changing, I live for this product". It's nice to see focus on skill and understanding technique rather than focus on "this is how the Kardashians do it". So many of these Gurus claim to understand everything about contouring but only recommend luxury products, not how to find the right shades and shadows. The idea of using Instagram filters to find your natural shadows was genius, somehow never occurred to me (but then I don't filter my photos generally). You could make thousands selling these techniques at lectures, they're so professionally thought out. Subscribed!

I am so tired of the whole IG movement of the specific makeup technique of the highlighting and contouring the same exact way for every single person. the cheekbone thing and why people want prominent cheekbones is because people don't want to look fat. When you're thinner you can see more bones and when you can't see those cheekbones or the hollows under them it looks kind of chubby even if that's not the case and makeup in general is usually used to make your face look more angular and slim because that's what lots of people consider beautiful is slim, proportionate, symmetrical faces

    You made it so much easier to understand. Your attitude about beauty is what the world needs to start having. There is beauty in everyone! Most of all, everyone has a different type of beauty. The only thing that can change that natural beauty is an ugly inner person. You have a beautiful inner beauty that makes you even more beautiful than what can only be seen.

    I've marathon-watched your videos tonight. You are so talented! I've learned so much from you in a few hours. I must tell you how much I appreciate all the time and effort you have put into all your videos. It's fascinating the way your artist's eye can see things differently and then you have the gift of explaining it in terms a non-artist like me can understand. Thank you very much! I really enjoy your videos on look-alike make up.

    I can't stop viewing this channel! and I don't even use make up, just eye liner, mascara and some lipstick. I'm amazed. I never thought of saying this in a make up channel, but I really love your work! congratulations, you are an artist of the face shapes, and that is what makes you unique in RUclips.

    You're so awesome Aly!! 😄 Your videos are so body-positive. It's refreshing to see someone on RUclips who is interested in beauty but doesn't think one person is more beautiful than another because of their features. The more I learn from you the more I feel comfortable with my own face and body. So thank you!!! It's also tons of fun to tailor my makeup and clothes to be the most flattering for my specific type. Lots of love xoxo 😘😘😘

    I honestly am so glad to have found your channel!! I always thought I had a strange face, with flat cheekbones and just fleshy cheeks - now I learn that they are just wide and not very prominent! It's strange because you'd think that after all these years looking in mirrors you'd know yourself, but so much of what you see is just influenced by those faces in media that you think you should look like. I'm having so much fun learning how different we can all be. Thank you!
