The coolest thing about this project is the way you breathed new life into that vintage bag instead of buying something you were sure of the fabric content in! What an awesome idea!!! And a leap of faith. 😆
I love the oil slick, it reminds me of this heat plastic in the early 90s that my aunt would make jewelry out of that I loved. Also, as a user of photoshop for decades at this point, I found that whatever works for you, and gives you the outcome you want, is the right way to do it :)
That is the coolest project that I have ever seen made with a cutting machine! Your enthusiasm to try new techniques is wonderful and I love seeing them all!
First of all, love the shape of the purse. But with your embellishment-complete fabulosity! I want one! Great idea using a FLW design as your starting point.
OMG, love everything about the Dana-Thomas house! One of my favorite places to go when I am back home visiting family. Recognized the pattern immediately, everything about FLW’s redesign of a Springfield socialite’s Victorian mansion into the iconic building it is now is burned on my heart. Also, I may own that coloring book for my own design inspiration, lol! Wonderful project, I’ve got so many ideas now!
Yep I have the book that picture is in bought it for embroidery projects has lots of art deco pictures in it. Have had it for over 10 years now. I collect colouring books as they make for great embroidery projects. Have a huge box of them some are now over 40 years old😳dam I suddenly feel very old again 😹😹
I've been doing HTV for years (mostly tabletop gaming-related stuff, like totes with D&D classes on them), and somehow I never thought to use it on nicer, less casual items. Your recent dives into HTV are giving me so many ideas!
I'm making a dress for an Edgar Allan Poe event and I need a smaller purse to go with black & "arsenic" green. That oil slick is just fantastic and I wish I could make something like that before the event. Just gorgeous.
I love oil slick effect, it was finding oil slick seed beads 40 plus years ago that got me hooked on beading work, I still have those same very beads in my stash, I just have not found the right project for them yet. I have bought many different sized beads in oil slick and have used them but they are not as pretty as the ones I found all them years ago. All I can think of is that their method of making the seed beads must of changed from my first ones to the ones I bought 20 years later. I am going to have to get me some of that vinyl that’s just yummy. So many ideas came running at me head on.😹😹
Now that you have the cutter, I feel like your iron, and anything else with a boring logo would benefit from being covered with custom decals that suit your aesthetic. It has made me much happier to erase the branding on most of my possessions and garments. : ) Branding like on the vintage Singers... that's art. Happy to showcase that. But most logos... ugh.
So much I wanna say! First, I smiled throughout the whole video 😃 Second, Am I the only one who views these creations with a Firefly filter?! Everything Bianca makes would work on the set of Firefly and that feeds my imagination. 🔥🪰🩵. Third, TCH is my favorite channel ever! I binge and cannot get enough 🤩
I really don't want to show my youngest daughter what a craft cutter can do. It'll only add to her wants list. At the moment she's fishing for a knitting machine, but as she's still a poor Uni student without a place to call home (she lives 130 miles away) and travelling by coach back and forth I will await her post degree place of residence before investing in something non-transportable in a rucksack. Really cool project, although I think 'oil slick' might not be the most attractive description. 'Mother of Pearl' might have a more positive image.

The bag is to die for! What did we learn? Pressing makes all the difference, even on a purse
Thank you Kathy!
Ooo very cyberpunk. Gorgeous!
Thank you!

@@TheClosetHistorian, You're welcome!
My mom would have liked to see your work. It's inspiring. She was quite the craftsperson...not just our traditional crafts either.
So lovely! If you ever felt like making merch for your channel a design like this would be so cool on a bag or a hoodie.
Your DIY vintage handbag looks FANTASTIC!!!!!

This looks great!! A bi-fold wallet with a FLW design would be fun to stick in one's hip pocket!
