- Today I'm listening to #Nightwish 's acoustic version from Planet Rock of How's the Heart with Troy And Floor, for the first time. I noticed that there is an acoustic version of Nemo too, would you like me to do a reaction of it too? Or perhaps you don't mind if I take a listen of that one on my own?

A great reaction, Constanza, and not only because it was very much in line with my own.
I love this version, and it is so stripped back that it allows the listener to really appreciate the sheer perfection of Floor's vocal technique.
There is so little else going on that there is absolutely nowhere to hide the slightest defect, and this emphasises that she does not need it.
Troy, well, what to say?
As an all-roung musician he is sheer god level.
He has a wonderful voice with good tone and vocal range. He does not push any great power, and I have no idea if he can - he just hasn't shown us, but as we can see from his guitar work here, just because we haven't seen it before doesn't mean it is in any way lacking. My science brain says "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence".
His guitar playing in this is absolutely virtuoso, and he is apparently improvising as he goes along - you can see that at the end of he intro, he gives Floor her visual cue to come in with her vocals, allowing the intro to be whatever length he feels right playing. And then, while doing all that, he sings an awesome harmonic accompaniment! And as with Floor's vocal technique, in a version this stripped back there is nowhere to hide any defect, nor does he need anywhere.
Their microphones will be chosen to match the tonal and dynamic range needed from each source, and there is a third aimed at the guitar, so Troy does have separate mics for voice and guitar. I think the word you were lookinng for is "bleedover", which is much easier to avoid in a good quality studio - the sound from Troy's guitar mic can, for instance be inverted and fed at the right level to the inputs from his and Floor's vocal channels to cancel out bleedover - likewise between the two vocal mics. Active noise cancelling at it's best. I can't think of any other method of isolating the channels as well as is clearly achieved here, particularly as Floor''s preferred mic is not very directional.
There may also be other ambient mics used that aren't in shot.
The range of instruments he can play to a high standard is simply phenominal.
I once met a guy who could pick up almost any instrument and with a few minutes explanation of the mechanics and techniques, get a decent tune, then come back after an hour of "playing around a bit" and perform on it to to a high standard. It is a very rare talent and I believe Troy has it. I don't think it is safe to say there is any instrument he could not play if it were asked of him. Consider that most instrumentalists of that standard expect to play at least an hour a day to maintain their skills, but the number of instruments he plays means that is simply impossible for him - there are just not enough hours in the day.
He has also composed two pieces for full orchestra and choir, a considerable number of songs, and produced music for other artists. His musical IQ is just off the scale (probably right up there with Tuomas'), but he doesn't show off about it. He is a huge asset to Nightwish. Now I suspect his role in Nightwish will expand to help fill the yawning void left with Marco's absence, and become the first stage in Tuomas new music and help in the production of the demos that are brought to the rest of the band to polish, a role Marco previously fulfilled. He can play all the instruments necessary to produce a demo track, and put vocals on it - not final ones, but ones to give Floor a guide on what the tune is and what feeling and emotion the song is trying to portray.
I believe he will be core to the evolution of Nightwish if Marco does not return, and although we all hope he will, his health comes first, and Nightwish are going to need to make plans for how to manage without him.
This is the kind of song of which you can like both versions for different reasons. Great and emotional reaction Constanza!

Not a few verses. The second verse is about Floor, Hannes and Freja.
"You have been there"...There is many great singers but it is very rare skill to live song thru as an character of the song and that is Floor doing on each song.
As an listener "You have been there"(6.53) sounds not just great but feels like she truly knows that listener has been there...And she can sing it like it is personally pointed just for you. Small details like these,lifts singer above of other singers. And the happiness of Floor, never ever get boring to see and hear it...Bad day? One song from Floor turns it to sunshine!
Nemo is one you know allready. It's your decision if you listen to it on your own, Your channel you rule 💯

I love this version and generally listen to it twice as well. Thankyou for the reaction. Now I have not heard Nemo acoustic which I will go check out now. Nice way to start the day with a little Nightwish love.
Oh and this is a beautiful acoustic rendition of this song. Floor is just a different kind of artist in a league of her own..imho and Troy adds a nice touch here. He is a great musician and back up singer. Floors birthday was on Sun. You probably already know but if not...she turned 40.
The good chemistry between Troy and Floor is remarkable, and amazing performed with this accoustic version. Troy is on the background, although beautifully present. Complete difference with the original, but both are great.

Nice reaction Constanza. I hadn't listened to Nightwish since 2002 and about two years ago I heard a reaction video to GLS with Floor and the rest, as they say, is history.
I like the steady hard rock beat of the album version, but this is more emotional due the intimate acoustic setting. Well done! ⛄👍

It's been said many times but it deserves to be repeated. Floor's vocal technique is impeccable. Her tone and control are unparalleled IMO. Very nice reaction to a beautiful song.
She is the master of voice control. Those crescendos and decrescendos she does routinely, absolutely amazing

excellent as always, would have been disappointed if there wasn't a tear or two knowing how your emotions come out on many of their songs, because we know how well Floor brings out the emotions. There are a couple other covers she has done, Frozen, Alone bt Heart, and a decent put together duet with Freddie Mercure of Queen "Who wants to Live Forever"

Another great reaction to a Nightwish song. I believe that Tuomas wrote both “Human Nature” AND “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” around Floor’s voice capability and also introduced the great harmonies that Floor, Marko and Floor bring to table! This particular song is better in this acoustic version than the Album in my humble opinion as we can hear all the nuances of Floor’s superb vocal acrobatics! Troy has also got an excellent voice as we can here him harmonise in this and the Album version. It is just not so obvious in the album version with all the other instruments playing, of course! When you listen to Nemo, the difference is that song was not composed with Floor’s voice in mind but Tarja’s. Keep up the excellent work.......
Not many people react to acousic Nemo. But after seeing how the second time watching this one had a bigger emotional impact on you when you did not have to concentrate, I'd say enjoy it as you wish. Reactions are nice, but music like this is primarily made to be enjoyed. ;)

Hi Constanza, nice to see you again! This is really a beautiful song, i like both versions, but that acoustic version more. Floor also sings the acoustic version of Nemo there. I like it too, but i like the original or the live version more, specially the Wacken live version. But if you have time look it by yourself, i would really be interested in witch version of Nemo you would prefer, but i would guess the original or the Wacken version. 😉 Floor did ~1 month ago a cover from the Lara Fabian song "Adagio", i didn't know this song bevore but it's a really beautiful one and i'm sure you would love it! She also sings the songs "Let it go" from Disneys Frozen and "Alone" from the band Hurt bevore by herself, and all a little in her own style, they are also all beautiful and if you have time look it by yourself, i think you will like them too. I'm looking forward to your next video and i'm curious what it will be, i really enjoy watching your videos because you do it really well and you are really nice too! I also like when you sing along silently, when your lips move slightly.

We ma not have Marko and Floor anymore, but at least we still have Troy and Floor. You should definitely check out the other song (Nemo) they did for this session.
You're reactions are always lovely; this being no different. As you noted, your second go-around seemed quite different than the first, and it did seem as though you were focusing more on a comparison between the studio version and this one, maybe? But the second one; well, I wish I knew what you were thinking because it looked as though it touched you on a particularly deep level. Especially already knowing the song, and having already seen this version of it. Almost as though there was something very specific you were thinking about. Or, maybe you were just concentrating harder on the song, or Troy's playing, or Floor's epic vocals. I don't know. My perceptions of behavior are rudimentary, at best.

On the subject of reactions to songs you have already heard. Sure, the surprise is gone, but you can add depth to the reaction. You have time to think about the lyrics, why they choose to play/sing it in that way., how it relates to other songs, bands, musical styles, etc.
