For me. Could try and justify by passing some of the blame but I f'd up and that's all there is to say about that. No point banging my head against the wall...grateful for videos like these. Definitely in need of some growing meaning in my life!

I have an extremely unique set of circumstances and I believe my path is more difficult than most, due to the manner in which it's been layed out. My two major problems are personality and perspective. Those are the two things that drastically interfere with my progress. That being said, those are two things I'm powerless over. I cant change my perspective without introducing new information or having an impactful experience to cause the necessary change. And my personality, more accurately referring to the various vices that I engage in, have complete power over life. KNOWING they arent the things I should be doing, does nothing to mitigate the act of me doing them. I'm willing to accept whatever consequences may come of them because I've accepted that it's who I am. Maybe not on a deeper spiritual/soul level but certainly in this embodiment. But I also dont believe any of those things take away from who I am. And truth be told, I like who I am. I think I dont want to change. Mainly because if I'm not accepted in my present form, then I feel no need to be accepted. I guess it's a self-defeating stance against improper judgment. But it's also a two way street because I dont like what I see in the world around me and it certainly wont change for me. So there answer's in there...

I think you did a great job synthsizing the main problem so many of us have. At the core, we don't want to admit that we need to change for a world that seemingly only seeks to hurt and extract from us. One can ask, "Why would I change if everything is so damn pointless and cruel?" But my friend, I urge you to recognize that we are all both sufficient and insufficient. Don't let the judgment of your ideals bring you despair but instead a humble excitement. We must all have the humility to take the smallest of steps to the bigger goal!

Grew up in a very strick catholic area. Sort of permeated the entirety of the area and my up bringing. The central coast catholics are sort of different. They get a lot of the worped machismo. Something I didn't realize growing up, without a differing opinion. Extremely sexist, women were meat, never look the men in the eyes for too long, they stand extremely close to you at all times (very uncomfortable). All the females (late 70s early 80s) had down cast eyes, especially to strangers. Seems these days that breed is gone, the memories arnt. Still sometimes have a knee jerk reaction to religions that preach self sacrifice vs healthy, intelligent, spiritually healthy values. And because it's a childhood experience I'm blind to when I go on auto pilot and attack mode. Which isn't fair because now I've seen the difference between God fearing and God loving. When you speak of meaning in life, my life is better for knowing the difference. It's about self respect, to love oneself. When you can be honest with yourself about yourself (the good and bad) it's an honesty that permeates your view of the world. And you can only find solace in the truth.

“The life of religion consists of the belief that there is an unseen order, and that our supreme good lies in harmoniously adjusting ourselves thereto"....William James. Science is the best method humans have devised to align ourselves harmoniously with physical reality, and religion is our species attempt to harmoniously align ourselves with the transcendent moral reality. The denial of either leads to human suffering.

    ANECDOTAL HYBRID FAITH
Growing up on the periphery of Catholicism, meaning my immediate family was not, as my one uncle would say 'good practicing Catholics', as well as living in a town that had a large native population, where I learned of Mother Earth and the customs and rituals of the indigenous people of Saskatchewan, I developed a sort of hybrid faith / religion. I saw God and Mother Earth to be different sides of the same coin. For instance, my church was Nature itself, where I would ponder the meaning of life, asking questions of God while also looking to nature for answers.
I remember contemplating how life began. I would picture what it was like before the big bang theory. In my mind, it was a blank white universe of nothingness. But I realized the this blank canvass of nothingness was still something. So, in contrast, I would picture an endless dark universe of nothingness, but came to the same conclusion...the same nothingness was still something, just a different color. This was where God became the omnipotent, all seeing and all knowing, at least for me. Only He knew what was before nothing...and what nothing truly was. And when he made the universe and, ultimately, our little galaxy of planets, Mother Nature then came into being. So was the nature of my logic.
Of course this was when I was just a boy. Now, dancing on the edge of being a senior citizen, God exists for me where man cannot easily explain away our existence. Mother Nature is the harmony I wish to maintain with all the creatures of our planet, which, until that too can be explained, God created along with all of us. Now, despite the many theories of our evolution and creation, I still find solace in nature, talking to God. My gaze is no longer looking back all of those billions of years, wondering where we came from. Rather, it is on where I will return to when I die. I am at peace with what I perceive, through the eyes of my hybrid faith, because I have tried to live in harmony with Mother Nature, while trying to be a good person to my fellow human beings.
I hope to, after I am dead, learn of the questions I pondered as a child. But even if I am not privy to this information, I will be happy to be returned to the earth that I came from, hopeful of an afterlife that resembles the machinations of my imagination.
    HIERARCHY & MEANING
So then, the meaning I assume, through the eyes of my hybrid faith, aligns with something greater than myself, like Mother Nature, who is borne out of something greater than Her, like God, who is the beginning and end of the cycle of life. I know, it is a simplistic hierarchy, but it works for me. And there are many hierarchies of life all around us...especially in nature. The 'circle of life', which has the living and dying of animals, through their entire life cycle, as connected and balanced, though it may not seem that way at first glance.
So to are the hierarchies of the family. Matriarchs and patriarchs guide and teach the next generation, only to become the future matriarchs and patriarchs of their future generations, and so on. As Jordan Peterson has pointed out numerous times, there are hierarchies at every level of life. To be outside of these hierarchies, in my opinion, would be to feel a loss of meaning. Feckless would be the person disconnected from meaning, if outside of all hierarchies...but I can only speculate...as I have not been there.
After an injury that left me temporarily paralyzed, then permanently handicapped, I had to find where I then fit back into the hierarchy. Emasculated and stripped of all it means to be a man, at least in my mind, I had to find new meaning to carry on. So, like the Sea Dragons / Horses of our oceans, I became the matriarch in my family. Caring for our children as a Mother would, cooking and cleaning our home, and organizing functions to keep our family in touch. I switched my focus from providing to nurturing and making sure our household is functioning, working to assist my wife who is now the primary bread-winner. I prepare the meals, do the shopping, and tend to the household. Though I am still limited in what I can do, at least I fit back into the hierarchy of my family and have meaning in my life, albeit different from what I would like it to be.
Thank you for reading this, if you made it to the end. This is more practice for me...writing down my thoughts, to become more literate and articulate. Criticism is welcomed, should you have the time. I will now go onto the main video of this excerpt, because it does get me thinking...as apparent from my rambling comment.
Thank you for sharing this Mr. Peterson. I have learned a lot over these past few years.

Excellent explanation on the death of the flesh/self. ✅ This is found throughout the New Testament in the Holy Bible. ✝️ Dying to self is part of being born again; the old self dies and the new self comes to life (John 3:3-7). 🕊
Not only are Christians born again when we come to salvation, but we also continue dying to self as part of the process of sanctification. As such, dying to self is both a one-time event and a lifelong process. ✝️🕊🔥🙏❤️💯
Jesus spoke repeatedly to His disciples about taking up their cross (an instrument of death) and following Him. This was a prerequisite for being a follower of Christ, who proclaimed that trying to save our earthly lives would result in our losing our lives in the kingdom.
But those who would give up their lives for His sake would find eternal life (Matthew 16:24-25; Mark 8:34-35). Indeed, Jesus even went so far as to say that those who are unwilling to sacrifice their lives for Him cannot be His disciples (Luke 14:27).✝️🕊🙏❤️💯

It may be important to first establish, for purposes of this comment interaction, the definition of “life” so that comments are based within that framework. The word “life” can take on a vast number of meanings for people. I might offer that in my experience with those who comment on this channel, particularly to posts that appear to be of a serious nature, especially those that resemble something of a deep sadness or that express any kind of leaning in the direction of death over life, I have not seen any comments that seek to harm or humiliate. I know there are trolls constantly stirring up the comment sections of most YT channels, but it isn’t something common that I’ve seen in regards to the responses for these type of original posts by a channel viewer. I only mention this to point out that it may be easy to lash out if you read a comment to your post that gives a different approach or perspective than what you may be feeling, but most often on this channel, there is no ill will meant towards you in those comments. But rather a genuine concern or desire to offer a tiny bit of hope or help. Many times after long periods of despair or hardships or sadness, it becomes reflexive to react negatively to any remarks that may not align with the darkness one has been blanketed with. It’s important to allow some fresh air & new thoughts in from time to time.
May every day that passes have one bit of light & goodness for you to appreciate. Take care.

@@unclesamsniece2064 well said, I do not know how anyone could disagree, but understanding how to communicate through the internet is tough at best, verry little emotions can be shown or felt with communication, just visual text- only 1 of our 5 senses we perceive the world so most of the time things are taken the wrong way depending on how that person perceives the world, sometimes it's best to not have a discussion because of such trolls and the dis connection the internet brings but we should always be able to voice our opinions even if they are greatly different from somebody else's, but learning how to disagree and communicate to the degree us humans are still functional is a real problem lol(meaning it in a light sense more so like a joke) but i do believe religion is God given or that of nature, a physical instinct wired into a DNA of how to be to the highest order of evolution not revolution, with God or against god- with nature's paradigms or making a human paradigm, I believe in my opinion it's no different from each other, so even atheist and hard core religious people have a common ground to stand on. God the father, Jesus the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit ... And why God the Father created Jesus and the Holy Spirit separate just to become one Godhead. Is God the Father powerless without Jesus and the the Holy Ghost ? Everyone believes God is in heaven. Why would God the father, be living in Heaven. Does that mean God depend on his creation. Is God bound by space and time? If God is in Heaven , who is bigger? God or Heaven???? Where is God before he created heaven?? Is mother Mary a God? Adam was born without a father and a mother, yet he is not a God... Im confuse...

Would love to see these guys speak about people fleeing blue states for red states.... its different than people fleeing countries for freedom or opportunity---- or is it??? All of them have a Sodom and Gamorah question in their mind.

I'm struggling with the first 5 minutes of this video. The guy's incomprehensible muttering was so disjointed and incoherent that was pretty much gibberish.

I will watch this a little later as long as it's not biblical, as I see it, the bible is a good book for those who have learned enough to read between the lines, it's a disaster for those who haven't, rather like handing plugged in toasters to groups of baboons, burnt fingers are certain to follow!

The entire western world was built on Judeo Christian values. It's crumbling now because no one reads the Bible or the Torah anymore.

Have you asked Egypt or Jordan to take the Palestinians? Israel is literally a strip of land compared to those countries.

@@betterdaysahead3746 exactly they have three or four countries and they claim free Palestine. Gaza was free. Got free electricity and free water. Israel is 20% Muslim and there is even muslims in there government. What they mean by free is free of Jews.... and exterminated.
