Mad lads on horses that look like they belong in a dark souls game, that was the intention and Markus the mad lad himself made it happen with his stunning art.
Not a bad presentation. Good job, I would disagree that the prophecy in revelation and Zachariah are opposites rather I would argue that they are complementary.
The best representation of the Four Horsemen will always be Discworld Spoilers 1⚪ 2🔴 3⚫ 4 💀 Because the four horsemen decided to go bar hopping and they forgot to start apocalypse
The thing i like about the 4 horseman is that they kind of make a loop such as: conquest leads to war which leads to famine which then leads to death or war leads to famine which leads to pestilence which, also, leads to death. Thus a wierd, most likely unintended, loop.
Joseph Cambell has a documentary on Kali Ma and this dark age we are in. Breaks it all down. She is compared to be as scary as these 4 horsemen combined when she gets angry.
This is actually quite fascinating. It appears to me as if the horsemen following one upon another does have a specific significance. Conquest leads to war. War leads to famine. Famine leads to death.
Pestilence also leads to war. Which is why they are interchangeable. The pandemic is here. War is in the Ukraine. God help those who suffer the upcoming famine.
I remember Supernatural's interpretation of the horseman. Famine was a sickly looking man, bound to a wheelchair, and had body guards that represented locusts. Wherever he roamed, people became infatuated with anything and everything. Food, sex, drugs. etc. I would see how basically widespread addiction would also lead to an economic collapse as represented by the original white rider, Conquest. Further, War was imagined as like a racketeer personality that manipulated the hysteria and hallucinations of people that drove even good men to violence. It's more interesting to imagine the Horseman as living Omens, causing the apocalypse slowly but surely with their respective control over the minds and bodies of people and the physical land then directly bound to faith in my opinion.
@Jim Hibbits Lol, no he didn’t. The Pharisees called out his disciples for not washing their hands. Which isn’t even a law. It showed that the Pharisees thought they were so righteous that they made up their own laws.
My favorite reference to the horsemen is in the game the binding of Isaac, where you are able to fight war, death, famine and pestilence. But you can also get an achievement called "the forgotten horseman" and that allows you to fight conquest.
@@thijsvos8638 oh I know that, I only said that because in the game it's not the headless horseman with a pumpkin or anything, it's literally the regular horseman model with his head floating around

Same here. I'm learning my Bible, demonology, washing machine repair, watercolor painting, political science and dynamics of a codependent, narcissistic relationship.
Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett included the four horsemen. Pale was Pollution (because, it explains, pestilence had retired on the invention of penicillin) and they, along with War and Famine, had been killing time for the 6000 years of human history. But Death, who does what they are, had simply been working. This is my favourite interpretation.
@@flumpyofdoom Nah, it's Khaos, but he left the group before they were famous due to... _artistic_ disagreements. An artist must always uphold one's art over their lives.
The mythology was lost along the centuries but there were originally 5 horsemen. The 5th one was named Ryan. He'd condescendingly eat his yogurt standing over you during your lunch breaks.
I always interpreted the 4 horsemen as an allegory for the fall of civilization or a nation, first comes war where people fight over land and supplies which leads to food shortages and the 2nd horseman Famine (never heard of conquest as a horseman) and as people get sick from famine the 3rd horseman pestilence appears and finally they are greeted by the 4th horseman as civilization dies.
Exactly. People just wrote a piece with fantastical elements as a metaphor for what they were going through at the time. Unfortunately, other people took these writings quite literally and now we have religion
Before I knew much about The Four Horsemen, I always thought that they were the harbingers of the end for humanity. I thought that each horseman was sent to annihilate a quarter of the word. and while you said that the first and second horsemen are somewhat similar I thought they came in pairs. But thank you for shedding some light on this really appreciate this.
They represent the four Cardinal Points of the Sun throughout the year, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. In the winter the Sun dies. In the Spring the Sun conquers death with the Sword also symbol for erected Phallic which also symbolizes impregnating earth. In the Summer He reigns but it is short lived through war in the heavens and after loosing He Falls. White and Red work together with one after the other. White represents purity, holiness and also Virginity. Spring is everything to do with initiation or life amd resurrection from the winter’s death also the celebration of the Sun having Passed over that period of time. Red is shedding of blood both from the lost of virginity but also for heat and warmth. It’s important to note that in the spring Jupiter and Venus rule (the benevolent gentleman and the virgen). Where as Mars rules in the spring. I’ll stop my comments here and hopefully it jump starts further research on your end. Remember that the end is always the beginning of something new. Believe in the Creator (Sun) not in the Creation (son). 🫶
I was taught the literal biblical interpretation as a child but when I'd left Christianity I wondered if it was meant as a metaphor. Death, war, famine and pestilence would decimate humanity and were represented as being on horses because horses were used during wars and would therefore represent ultimate destruction. This video has definitely raised some interesting points, I'm going to be rethinking my ideas!
Makes sense. Horses back than were basically tanks, so they probably helped paint the picture these weren't meant to be fought by men. I never believed the church view either
My first learning of them was the book Good Omens. It used Pestilence instead of Conquest (actually Pollution as Pestilence retired in frustration when penicillin was invented). Still my favorite interpretation, except for Supernatural's (original) Death.
Can’t begin to describe how thankful I am for your stories being available on Spotify. So convenient, not many RUclipsrs do that! Love your content and the art work as well. Keep up the great work!
None of this is accurate. The first Horseman is the newly made King Michael (Jesus). That's why he wears a crown, and is all in pure white . And with Jesus being made King in heaven, his first means of action is reprimanding Satan the dragon, and banishing him from the heavens, and hurling him down to earth. Because of this, Satan is now influencing the Earth, and the whole earth is in his power, therefore with that comes the things such as War the next Horseman, as well as famine, pestilence, and death. And these would be taking place globally, signaling the last days which culminates into the great tribulation and Armageddon. Ergo, The Four Horsemen lead into Armageddon.
I like the Highlander-TV interpretation - that the Four were marauding early immortals whose rampages were so widespread and brutal that they burned into mytho-historical narratives and became the reason why these beings were spoken of in the first place.
Always loved the story of the 4 horseman ever since Sunday school as a kid. Awesome video dude really enjoyed this one. Great chanel too man one of my faves now 🤘.

in chainsaw man, the character makima mentions to kishibe that she needs the chansaw devil to permanently kill the devils known as famine, war, and death, and it is theorized that makima is the conquest devil instead of the control devil since the word control can also be translated as conquest in Japanese.

Fallout Shelter's version of the four horsemen was quite interesting. The quest was from what I can tell the longest in the game as it had 3 chapters. The horseman were simply created by one individual to represent different factions in the wasteland in hopes that they would inevitably wipe themselves out. Pestilence; an average Radscorpion, followed by those wishing to be iratiated as to be deemed worthy. War; A Raider chief with an ego suited in some power armor and fitted with a minigun, followed by raiders. Famine; A iratiated ghoul followed by other ghouls who wished to consume. Death; a molerat followed by a cult from another vault simply because of a typo in their manual making Death capitalized. (Ironic seeing as Death was the only one named.) What I found interesting about it was simply that each Horseman represented a different faction, but were treated as if each were a different religion. Towards the end of the quest line each faction followed by their horseman meet at the location of Death and seem to finish themselves off as was according to plan only with the help of the player. I doubt many people have played through the game and know what I'm talking about but I felt the need to mention it here as it was quite interesting and honestly made the game really fun for me as well as being one of the most entertaining representations I've seen of The Four Horsemen.
5 total horsemen there are. 1 of the 5 is to help man which is the fifth rider... This is Lord Jesus the Christ. The first 4 are punishments against mankind. *The First of the 2 white riders is the counterfeit it has a bow and 1 crown while the fifth has come with the sword of God wearing many crowns. 1. Horseman 1 is an enslaving false Christianity (Led by The Pope of the Vatican aka The Church of Babylon aka Mystery Babylon) that will be militarily enforced worldwide (by the Beast who will be the leader of the upcoming military (The Beasts Power) of Europe aka Satan's final most powerful, most wicked and most deceitful Empire) upon all human life on the Earth. 2. For it is Fathers blood that created everything and will turn us into his Sons and Daughters through/by and Brothers and Sisters to Lord Jesus the Christ. 15. Those that commit that unpardonable sin will die a second death. For their first life lived was their first death as almost all of us will go through but, these found to be wicked complete will die twice. Once under Satan's rule (For wages of sin is Death) and once under Gods. 16. They will also go through being resurrected twice. New Jerusalem will have 12 Pearl Gates and to each, is one of the 12 Bloodlines of the House of Israel. 20 To each Gate, 1 of the 12 apostles will rule over with King David ruling over all of them. 21. The ones living in this Great city will be Father, Jesus and those of the First Resurrection ONLY!!!! 22. Those who were in the Second Resurrection aka The Genral Resurrection, will live on the outside of the city aka on the Earth. 23. Earths sky Heaven 1, Outer Space Heaven 2 and Heaven 3 is where Father and Jesus are seated now was created as a temporary home for Father and Jesus. 24. Earth was always going to Fathers and Jesus permanent home to come. 25. Fathers plan of all of this, was before anything was ever created. 26. We read of the unfolding process of it in the Bible. However, everything Father has done is not in the Bible. The creation of Jesus Fathers Manager/worker, then the creation of their temp home, then the angles etc....
I’ve always felt the Horsemen and the breaking of the seven seals represented the demise of mankind at its own hands. That The desire for earthly conquest would consume the world in a great war. The war then causes a famine that kills a fourth of the world. The story other three seals as they are broken talk about the fifth seal, where the souls of those who died “for the word of god” (or in my interpretation, the war) would call out to the faithful to be avenged. The sixth seal talks about a lot of changes like the sun going black but what stood out to me is the unfaithful (name the rich who’d have caused the war and blight) hiding in every corner they could find and even begging for death to escape punishment. The final seal talks about Heaven’s wrath and the wrath of the Lamb being wrought unto everyone but the faithful A lot of mentions call back to those in political power being a part of the problem that causes the apocalypse as shown in Revelation. I’ve always seen it to mean the corruption of those in power to bring the physical and even moral downfall of society as we know it
@Thr4kus it's exactly what this represents. It's so much more than just a fable or mystery, but a telling of events that will happen. This is not a joke that's why God wants us to be ready and believe in Him
@@Dzyyon God didn't tell mankind everything. Not that he has to. I'll visit the Divine Realm and pick up my artifacts that I left there. As for God, I'll check in on him before leaving this existence.
Well it's certainly isn't a myth or something like that, because history likes to loop itself, we had already great cataclysm a few times as a humanity, but these things won't be recorded, because most things are lost, i think that the 4 horseman are an analogy of a repeated history, it's kind of a warning that it happened and that it will happen again, as said by this guy there were the faithful and unfaithful, the warning is if the faithful won't do something then once again the history will repeat itself and most will experience it, in the end it's just a representation of a loop that happened to humanity. But that's just a guess, it could be more than that because I believe in god.
They would have to be an analogy of a repeated history. If the Bible is to be taken literally then Revelation is an account of events that have occurred already. It’s written in the past tense.

I first learned about these guys from reading the bible cover to cover, then through Darksiders (amazing franchise that I wish got finished), then Supernatural. There are a lot of references to Christian mythology in so many forms of media, and it's interesting to see how people react to them compared to the more common Greek and Roman references.
The games did get finished, technically. The third one had Fury (Famine) and the last one had Strife (Pestilence) but it was a different game style than the first three.
So you read the Bible back to front? I’ve read many books in the Bible many times and even to this day I see things I never did or notice things I’ve never noticed, I suggest reading it again but start with Matthew, read the whole New Testament except revelation, then read the Old Testament and finally read revelation.
@@Iamyl4 I don't spend my time on such things anymore (apostate from Christianity, initially deist and now agnostic atheist), but thanks for the suggestion. I do like to hear that there are still Christians out there who actually read the book instead of just pretending whatever they already believe is in there. In all your getting, get understanding.
Mythology? The Bible is not myth. Many of the things you read in the bible actually happened and can be verified by other books in the Bible or outside sources having nothing to do with the Bible. This book is your owners manual to life. It teaches you how to know God. God is the truth. God is Good. God has left our country. Read it and learn how to know truth from lies. We must bring God back or our country is over. God is. When he was done making all things. He looked and saw what he had done and saw that it was good. Well, is it good anymore? No I don't think so.
@@tiredbird471 Just reskinning some weaker monsters is always an option and a little later I can start throwing fiends or celestials at them. But not necessarily as enemies initially. Victory would be the first one introduced as a succesful general in a kingdom during a roman style triumph for example.
I'm Late, not a dnd person or a Christian lol BUT as far as lore goes I'd definitely recommend reading some up on some of the apocryphal materials: jubilee, Enoch, and some of the more obscure tellings of the fall of man, and Noah's ark, theres lots of real fascinating stuff in there that could be cool role playing stuff Imo.
My favorite depiction of them is still the version from the X-men. They have shown up multiple times over the years and the members get switched out depending on the storyline but Apocalypse is one of my favorite characters and the four horsemen are always cool and interesting to me. Also scary
This video was absolutely amazing and I first learned about the four horsemen from Charmed they had a episode dedicated to them. Also, all of The Four Horsemen are my favorite.
Interesting how many differences there are between German and English versions. In the German version (at least in the one I've read and which was also used in our schools in my country back in my day) the only rider that is named is War. In addition to that, it doesn't say that "Hades" followed the fourth rider, but "hell". I've always connected that passage to the Apocrypha, cause there it says that among all the fallen angels, there's only a single one who's not exiled to hell. His name was Abaddon and he's held captive in a dungeon in heaven, with the key to hell chained arround his neck. When the lamb sends out the fourth rider, Abaddon follows him with the key dragging him down to "the pit", where he has to unlock the gates of hell, so all the lost souls and his fellow fallen angels would be present for God's final judgement. Also, I've always thought of the first rider as tyranny, as in "the first rider takes away mankind's freedom, the second one their peace, the third one their wealth and the last one their very lives", which are basically considered the pillars of prosperity. I think in the version I've read the first one didn't have a bow, but a scepter, which also seems to lay the focus more onto the "ruling" aspect of that rider rather than the bow, which was used by Hannibal to shoot an arrow into the city of Rome itself during his conquest in Italy. I'm not trying to start an argument here, I'm an agnostic atheist myself and grew up with the folklore of my country rather than with Christian traditions, but as a sucker for all kinds of religions and mythologies I love discussing that kind of stuff in order to understand it properly. Please forgive me for that, if anyone feels offended right here. (;
I don’t know what to think about your comment 😅 or many comments I am reading in this channel. Out of the Bible men have taken what they like and created many religions.. however all of the Bible points out to that one Verb whom became flesh and died in that cross for our sins.. all the Bible: from the beginning points out to this Verb. that been said in order to understand the Bible and stories one has to be Christian(yes including the Jews, for that Verb came to them first yet rejected him even tho all the Torah points out to this savior) to understand the Bible. Other than that the Bible is going to be seen as you see it(only intriguing stories etc) however that’s not how the Bible is intente to be understood; it’s suppose to be understood to be saved from our sins and what it’s to come to humanity and the Judgment of God.

Yeah, the Romans actually viewed Atilla as the rider of the Red horse. The fact that he even specifically targeted the Church (they were rich) reinforced this idea. Atilla knew about this belief, and used it in psychological warfare to both demoralize the roman armies and extract ransom from the churches.

"Death. Deliverance for you for sure, now there's nothing you can do." That said, I wonder why "Time" is subbed in for War?
I just realized I never knew what the fourth horseman was. Conquest. He is active right now and so is war. Famine right around the corne and of course dear death is always with us.
The first horseman is the mysterious one. His depiction does look like how Christ is depicted elsewhere in the book of Revelations. However, I think that pestilence is really what it's meant to represent. An epidemic is certainly like a conquest. The symbolism is very apollinian too. John was speaking to a Greek audiance. The god Apollo was a bright god, god of the Sun (the crown) who's favorite weapon was a bow. The Greeks believed that he would sometimes shoot an arrow on the ground and thus send disease and pestilence on Earth. During the great pandemic, like the Antonine Plague of the 2nd century, or the Cyprian Plague of the third, pagans would offer sacrifices to Apollo to stop the disease. It also makes sense. War, diseases, famine, death, they all go along.
@@MrGreen-fi5sg No. But those Christians lived in a pagan world, and were for most of them born pagan. So they understood pagan symbolism probably better than jewish.
I like best the way they were represented in the TV show Supernatural, especially Death because his entrance the first time you see him is just EPIC. The ones from Good Omens weren't bad either.
I have to wonder where Darksiders got the idea to ditch famine and pestilence (or conquest) and replace them with strife and fury. Nothing against it of course, just curious.
THQ said they couldn't come up with cool character ideas for the other two, so they just made up two that they could work with. There is an interview somewhere that was made not too long after the release of DS2.
I feel like by the name alone, war, strife are quite similar. Fury seems more towards seven deadly sins, the wrath. Famine and Pestilence would be interesting if they know how to do it. Pestilence could be the ability to create different type of virus etc. But then their powers would be stale and boring fast for a game so...
@@gooddreams8495 Yeah, that interview I mentioned said similar things. I wish I new what it was called so I could recommended it. THQ wanted the characters to be interesting and fun, but Strife IS indeed similar to War in concept. The Gun and Whip ideas were fine IMO.
Fascinating to note that the interpretations of the four horsemen in Judaism and Christianity are diametrically opposed. In so many aspects, the NT and Christianity take the opposite POV of Judaism for no apparent reason. And here is yet another one, which I did not know about. Thank you.
I love the way Supernatural (the series) has depicted the four horsemen and I LOVE Death in that series! OMG he is super cool! This was as all your other stuff epic
Supernatural easily made some of the most interesting interpretations of folklore and religious texts and the Four Horseman are one of the best examples.
Even though I already have a story which utilizes the horsemen for the plot, I would agree that a story where the four are main characters would be interesting and I think I might try to write something like that.
Time Has taken its toll on you The lines that crack your face Famine Your body it has torn through Withered in every place Pestilence For what you've had to endure And what you have put others through Death Deliverance for you for sure Now there's nothing you can do
The passage seems to describe a very specific place and point in time. A great Roman ruler makes great gains by conquest. Shortly thereafter, the a big portion of the empire (one quarter of the earth) is ravaged by civil war, which causes the fields to not being worked, resulting in a price soar for daily food items (and olive oil was not luxury), famine and (together with military violence) death. The fact that not the whole empire was to be afflicted by these riders points to rather specific events and to a "prophecy" written after the fact, more akin to "Look, this has already happened, and the other things will!"
I learned the 4 horseman through the x men apocalypse that's where I first heard it but the way they phrased it was cool. "The 4 horseman are God's henchmen that were sent by god himself in order to warn the villagers of the apocalypse."
My favorite appearance of the horsemen is in supernatural and undead nightmare … shits so cool how u can actually ride the horses … I wish there was a game (open world RPG) where u actually meet all these biblical figures
Anybody here also very into Darksiders game series, & THQ's take on the four horsemen of the Apocalypse? For those that don't know it's a really good game series where in each game you play as one of the four horsemen, but instead of conquest and famine, there is war, death, fury and strife. Great games
Love the interpretation with that art of the 4 horsemaen shown there. They could literally be new characters for Smite given how cool their designs are.
I don't think so... The angel on Exodus who killed the 1st born is a different entity than the death here on the Revelations. It was just a nickname Angel of death because that angel was doing its job as a purger. And this Death on the 4 horsemen I don't think they are angels... I think they are the Representations of what they are turn into physical entity... I won't call them demons either.
I feel like pestilence fits away more than conquest considering war is already a thing. But then again pollution would make way more since in our current world besides pestilence did retire anyway because of a certain medical discovery.
this magic will only be manifesting inside each of us as individual chemical soup bodies. this influence of 4 horseman will not interfere with the Earth healing herself. So we are in a dark place inside our spirit bodies, many are cloudy, dreams are dark, visions are of destruction to cities and much upset to mankind's societies. This too is a rhythm, a cycle of humankind. We flux up and down vibrationally. We are the pestilence to our own spiritual empowerment and rightness. We believe in dark fears. Faith's forged in fear. Misunderstanding. Sometimes we are guilty of fear inspiring us to create things in this realm to defend ourselves with... like weapons of mass destruction, pollutants from our hunger for technology! We are the disease, this energy is for humanity alone. The seas will thrive. The air will clean itself. The lands will shift according to OUR faith. So faith over fear. Religion is not required for this activity.
"To kill with sword, famine and pestilence" All 4 horsemen were named in their own indirect way. Conquest wasn't one of them. The 4 as I have always known them are: Pestilence War Famine Death That line mentioned seem to correlate what I have been brought up to understand all my life. Now if you think about it: Pestilence - Covid outbreak War - Ukraine issue and threat of "all out war" Famine - Current known and recognized food shortages and what's yet to come Death - Well this one is fairly self explanatory Just saying.
White Horsemen wears a Crown (Corona in latin), has a Bow (Toxon/Toxin in ancient greek). 2.22.2022 when Putin declared independence for parts of Ukraine. 03.03.03.2023 coming of the black horse, hyperinflation and global Famine. 2024 pale horse will slay 2billion people 1/4 of earth, the Vaccine does play an big role here, it's the Toxin from the first one pestilence. Because the four horsemen decided to go bar hopping and they forgot to start apocalypse

The fact that they get customized Horse's is just makes them even more cooler

13. Those who do not pass will be the ones who commit "THE UNPARDONABLE SIN" which in the Second Rez is the only time mankind can do so. For one has to know the truth of everything in order to commit it.

The final seal talks about Heaven’s wrath and the wrath of the Lamb being wrought unto everyone but the faithful
A lot of mentions call back to those in political power being a part of the problem that causes the apocalypse as shown in Revelation. I’ve always seen it to mean the corruption of those in power to bring the physical and even moral downfall of society as we know it

No need for confession now
'Cause now you have got the fight of your life

The lines that crack your face
Famine! Your body, it has torn through
Withered in every place
Pestilence! For what you've had to endure
And what you have put others through
Death! Deliverance for you for sure
Now there's nothing you can do

So gather round, young warriors now
And saddle up your steeds
Killing scores with demon swords
Now's the death of doers of wrong
Swing the judgment hammer down
Safely inside armor blood guts and sweat

I first learned about these guys from reading the bible cover to cover, then through Darksiders (amazing franchise that I wish got finished), then Supernatural. There are a lot of references to Christian mythology in so many forms of media, and it's interesting to see how people react to them compared to the more common Greek and Roman references.

But I don't think players would fight them anyway at least from 1-5 and probably 6-10. I haven't planned anything but I would want to introduce one Horseman ever 5 levels.
The Horsemen didn't lead armies, thats not their purpose. Christ himself leads the armies of heaven.

I really loved the webtoon "Apocalyptic Horseplay" and its interpretation of the horseman. In it they have such interesting and memorable designs.
This was superbly narrated, I really liked the ever so slightly moving imagery that accompanied it 👍
My favorite depiction of them is still the version from the X-men. They have shown up multiple times over the years and the members get switched out depending on the storyline but Apocalypse is one of my favorite characters and the four horsemen are always cool and interesting to me. Also scary

Interesting how many differences there are between German and English versions.
In the German version (at least in the one I've read and which was also used in our schools in my country back in my day) the only rider that is named is War. In addition to that, it doesn't say that "Hades" followed the fourth rider, but "hell". I've always connected that passage to the Apocrypha, cause there it says that among all the fallen angels, there's only a single one who's not exiled to hell. His name was Abaddon and he's held captive in a dungeon in heaven, with the key to hell chained arround his neck. When the lamb sends out the fourth rider, Abaddon follows him with the key dragging him down to "the pit", where he has to unlock the gates of hell, so all the lost souls and his fellow fallen angels would be present for God's final judgement.
Also, I've always thought of the first rider as tyranny, as in "the first rider takes away mankind's freedom, the second one their peace, the third one their wealth and the last one their very lives", which are basically considered the pillars of prosperity. I think in the version I've read the first one didn't have a bow, but a scepter, which also seems to lay the focus more onto the "ruling" aspect of that rider rather than the bow, which was used by Hannibal to shoot an arrow into the city of Rome itself during his conquest in Italy.
I'm not trying to start an argument here, I'm an agnostic atheist myself and grew up with the folklore of my country rather than with Christian traditions, but as a sucker for all kinds of religions and mythologies I love discussing that kind of stuff in order to understand it properly. Please forgive me for that, if anyone feels offended right here. (;
I don’t know what to think about your comment 😅 or many comments I am reading in this channel.

I just realized that Ive heard those lines in Attila Total War and had no idea where they came from ..
Now I have scenery of the Attila burning the Western Roman Empire and it gets more terrifying ..

Thank you for calling it what it truly is - legend and mythology.
These four figures are of symbolic events that have already been occurring.
War, diseases, famine, death, they all go along.
...Are you comparing Christianity to Pagans?
@@MrGreen-fi5sg No. But those Christians lived in a pagan world, and were for most of them born pagan. So they understood pagan symbolism probably better than jewish.

I like best the way they were represented in the TV show Supernatural, especially Death because his entrance the first time you see him is just EPIC. The ones from Good Omens weren't bad either.
I have to wonder where Darksiders got the idea to ditch famine and pestilence (or conquest) and replace them with strife and fury. Nothing against it of course, just curious.
Doesn't strife represents conquest he uses a gun instead of a bow

Thank you.

Awe man, a video on Steve, Jeff, Tim, and Brian!?!? Can not wait to watch this!

Wouldn’t the Death horseman also make an unnamed appearance in Exodus during the Death of the Firstborn plague?
Alphapkmn: Yes, it is!!!!
That was "The Angel of the Lord" and not a horseman.
That assumes Death the Horseman and the Destroying Angel are one in the same
I don't think so...
@@ladycommentor2536 they are probably just spirits. The bible references alot of spirits apart from angels and demons.
Nice Dark Omens reference.
