@@bryansmith4856 Black smoke?
I don’t condone the use of diesel except for those who need it & use it cleanly. So I’m with you on that.
There are other vehicles on the road that cause noise pollution, it’s not just a big truck problem. I’ll admit I add to the problem with loud exhaust & stereo, sorry.
@@bryansmith4856 diesel is better for the environment and more efficient than gasoline. It’s people that put aftermarket parts on that the trucks like tuners, injectors, etc that make them have the black smoke, but even then diesels are badass

Do these things have odometers on them that tell you how many polar bears they've killed?
Live north of the 60th parallel and you won't worry about polar bears very much. They see you as lunch.
Just take 4 spaces😂
I hear they ban big pickups like that in Manhattan Island, New York! That, plus they go over the Brooklyn Bridge's per vehicle weight limit, not to mention they are 100% banned on New York's parkways!!!
I doubt that.
Now Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 Has Issues With Big Pickup Truck Parking
Proud owner of a dodge 2500 quad cab long bed. I have been through a McDonald’s drive thru with this truck and a 25ft Morgan built gooseneck trailer. I am able to park wherever I need to with or without a trailer. Quick tip: Anywhere is a parking spot if you throw on your hazard lights and leave a buddy you trust in the rig to tell them you’ll be right back. lol 😆
In all seriousness though, they’re out to get people who drive bigger trucks and cars. Seattle is taking out a bunch of parking to solve the congestion problem by forcing some people to get rid of their cars. There’s also some gas guzzler taxes being discussed that will probably screw me as a small business owner who requires a full-size pickup for my line of work. Fuel is already expensive, I spend almost 1,000$ a month on fuel and we as consumers in Oregon are charged almost 60 cents a gallon in just road taxes for roads that screw up my front end alignment every time I hit a bridge joint, my bottom line can’t get much lower. 😓 what’s a guy supposed to do? Write my Congressman who’s been in office in Oregon since the Reagan administration? Fat chance that’ll yield anything.
I wouldn’t go near a drivethru with a trailer on my crew cab f150. I love the truck but I hate parking or navigating tight spaces.
Curious how you're holding up with the updated gas prices
@@bazilgamerdeer1239 it ain’t pretty, but we’re making it work lol. The station right by my house is selling diesel for 6.35$ a gallon. Some stations in Eugene to the south of us are almost up to 7.00$
There’s a station closer to the shop is selling B20 diesel for 5.99$ right now, so the Cummins is running on a healthy mix of B20 and tractor diesel right now.
Get a van
@@oscarosullivan4513 would if I could. I already bought a 500$ grocery getter to save a little money, but I still gotta use my truck for my business.

First off let’s get rid of the safety BS in trucks and make them slimmer. Also he wouldn’t answer if he’s had trouble parking his Tacoma because he has and doesn’t want to be harassed for not being able to park a car.
If someone spends that much money on a truck they don’t want to spend more to take a bus take longer and be way more complicated. Just make some bigger parking spots
Ok, so what if at that point I now want an even bigger parking spot? Where does it end? What if I want a 20 ft wide truck? Are you gonna widen the highways for me?

Ban Narrow Parking And Allow Wider Parking
Perhaps you should mention the obesity epidemic in this country with over half of the U.S. population being over weight and 1/3 grotesquly obese, they need truck to move them around. They won't fit in a normal size car.
ah yes, lets avoid the actual problem and just cater to their current needs
Stop bitching! I drive a Dodge Ram 3500 dually as a daily drive and I live in Italy. No issues. If you wanna a big truck you gotta move your ass and be prepared to park it where you find place, even if it is a bit far away from where you have to go.
That goes for any vehicle. I don't try to park my 42' RV right in front of the door either.
Over the decades , parking spaces have been getting smaller and smaller . Because the car's are much smaller than they were in the 1960's , 1970' and into the 1980's . So the parking spaces have gotten smaller and smaller !! I drive a 3/4 ton Dodge Ram Mega Cab and it has a long wheel base . I try to pick a respectable parking spot but can't always get a respectable parking spot for my truck . So I will park where I have to ! If you don't like it , then stick it in your K.M.A. File !!!!!!
Wrong bro SUVs and pickup trucks have become more common and the size of both vehicles has drastically grown in the past 20 years
@@Carlinisalive In the last almost 20 years , yes trucks and some SUVs have become larger than the decade or so before that almost getting back to the size they were back in the late half of the 1960s through the 1970s and into the 1980s for SUVs where trucks continued all through the 1980s . That's due to the government mandating better emissions and fuel economy starting at the end of the 1970's during the gas rationing years . I have definitely a good memory of all those decades . I was a mechanic from the early 1970s through today . I've worked on vehicles from the late 1930s through 2024 . An auto mechanic & pickup truck mechanic , big truck mechanic , semi truck & trailer mechanic , heavy equipment mechanic , auto-body collision repair painting technician , hydraulic mechanic and the list goes on including my certificates , transcripts and degrees continues to increase . Also a driver & operator of much more than I have mentioned for all those years and more .
Now take into fact the economy of businesses . They need more customers for revenue / profit . The parking lots need to allow more customers to park on the same amount of land in the parking lot . How do they increase the number of vehicles to park in the same size parking lot ? But to decrease the size of each parking spot . Simple , business economics 101 .
Why do you think and see so many more door dings and scrapes in vehicles these past few decades ? Better for the economy and many different businesses of all types & kinds .
Businesses economics 102 .
The Tacoma is a little larger than it really needs to be. I'm use to driving S10 and Ranger. America needs small pick ups again and I'm not talking about the soon to be Hyundia Santa Cruz and Mavrick pickup.

Drive a pickup then

@@oscarosullivan4513 America is not Ireland. This country thrives off big trucks to tow cars and haul big loads. Sure people needlessly buy them because it's appealing to them but they do serve a purpose.
@@hankhill6469 Exactly. Ireland is smaller than South Carolina.
I frequently see unnecessarily big truck sticking out into the lanes in parking lots, and as a bicyclist, they come to close to me when I am in the bicycle lanes. And most of the time a small car would be big enough to handle the task at hand. I suppose that most men that think it's necessary to drive these monsters, are persuaded by the advertisements that with a deep macho voice, to convince the men, that they must drive a big M.F. truck to be a real man, so he can compensate for his small member.

Pickup trucks, SUVs and big land yachts have been around for decades. It's not the vehicles getting bigger it's the parking spaces shrinking.
Smaller smaller!!! Back in the day, big pickup trucks used to park way in back, or even on the outskirts of the town. They were never right in front of 711 two inches from the door. Time to make parking garages completely off-limits to giant vehicles. You don't see garbage trucks parking in the underground garage. That's what those F1500 knucklehead huck trucks are.
